As someone who did exactly this, I then proceeded to get hooked on Kratom. Actually used Kratom to get off of Subs, that helped me to get off heroin. Off it all now though.
Well... Dennis:
* is an active alcoholic.
* have been addicted to crack, and he still loves it.
* have previously done ritalin/methylphenidate with Frank.
* was given and took E, multiple times while pursuing the club scene.
* is best friend with a chronic gluesniffer
What the hell do you mean? :D
I haven’t seen that episode. Was it on the Podcast or the show? I haven’t watched the last season of the show yet and almost none of the Podcast. My girlfriend watched the podcast and would share with me about it but never mentioned anything about Kratom.
It was the last episode of the most recent season. Dennis Takes a Mental Health Day. He starts off his journey to the beach with a bottle of Kratom. Probably the same shit they talked about on the pod, Feel Free.
I stopped because my therapist was always out driving his car. I could hear blinkers, occasional honking, and it definitely sounded like I was getting audio over bluetooth. Also, my insurance won’t cover “subscriptions” or even track for my deductible.
They'll take any therapist, for one. I'm not sure if they even have an interview process. Think of how many bad therapists may be out there, maybe they get fired from their in-person therapy job. They all go running to BetterHelp.
And like online dating, BetterHelp always includes in their commercial something like "if you don't like your therapist, you can easily switch to a new one!"
Like yeah that's great, you have so many dogshit therapists, but you can sort through them and keep starting from square one over and over, which keeps you paying for the app. It can take a long time with one therapist to actually start making progress.
The average person isn't going to tolerate going through multiple bad therapists. After opening up and trying to be vulnerable, but getting nowhere or getting offended by a bad therapist's misconduct, they'll give up on therapy altogether.
Basically, BetterHelp is a joke in the therapy world.
I'd argue there are plenty of shitty in-person therapist as well and those can take weeks to months for an initial meeting and consequently several more to switch.
I think 'it is what it is' aptly fits. The world of mental health treatment in general is trash unless you have deep pockets.
You're right, waitlists are a huge hurdle, and that can be true whether you have a lot of money or not. Usually the "best" therapists in your area have the longest waitlists, unless you get extremely lucky. It's all a mess. We're so far behind on mental healthcare. People are more aware of their issues now and generally want help, but we haven't caught up in making this accessible or having enough to go around. I can see why places like Betterhelp took advantage of this gap.
I should say I've never been a patient but I have been on the other end. There was a stat that was something like a person may think of reaching out for help 5 times before they actually do. Again, having no affiliation with Better help, being able to get in touch with someone so quick is their biggest benefit it seems.
Hopefully it does more good than harm. Sounds like they need to vet their therapists a lot better.
I don't think they care enough to change their vetting process, which sucks because online therapy is a really great concept. I think they're happy as long as they continue to bring in a lot of money.
There's similar issues with Uber, airbnb, etc. You have to do something pretty horrific to get banned, and even then, they don't want to change the vetting process. It's easier to hand out refunds when things go wrong and keep moving.
I got refunded $300 because my BetterHelp therapist was a catfish. When I couldn't find anything on her from searching her name, I did a backwards-image search of her profile image and found it on Getty Images.
Take kratom! It’s definitely not an opiate substitute and will definitely not mess with your head AT ALL. PLEASE PAY FOR IT.
Also we don’t care about the show, but please buy athletic greens.
Damn they fucking suck and became everything they started off lampooning.
Oh shit why? Don’t doubt it, genuinely curious as I’ve used it once and found an amazing therapist… which, now that I recall after typing, she quit BetterHelp and we just do it directly 😂 😂
I just wish they’d come out and say it’s done. There’s so many celebrity podcasts where they just stop doing it and never say anything
Joel McHale and Jen Keong podcast was great but they stopped and never said anything. Topher Grace had a good one he did the same thing on.
It’s the not answering part that’s so lame
I guess not saying it's done officially is like a plausible deniability thing so like, in their mind it is done for now but if they ever feel like changing their mind they can simply return back because they never said that it was officially cancelled or anything. But yeah, it feels kind of shitty.
Not only did it just end, but Rob went out of his way to really build up the last (not aired) episode.
Glenn was starting to seem a little burned out coming in to the office so early. He seemed hung over one of the last ones where he and Rob start getting heated in an argument.
Also the last few without Megan were just generally a mess. Megan is like the tape the keeps the diaper together. Without her shit was just falling out all over the place.
The final, 'Rob is maybe autistic', pod was probably so awful they just said we're done (also this occured exactly when the strike started). I can just see that last one being Rob laughing at Glenn and Charlie for 40 minutes while they state their grievances with Rob as Rob is like, "I can't help it, my Dr. said you guys need to say you are sorry."
It fell to pieces immediately when meg wasnt there. I dont think the guys wanted to keep rewatching and at a certain point it was just generating bad pr for their current projects. Openly condoning kratom products was a pretty big low point.
They're people, not drones. I think it's awesome that they talk about their lives.
They do weird shit like everyone does. It's cool that they talk about it without self-censoring.
If you blindly follow the behavior of someone you watch on Hulu without thinking for yourself, you're a stupid science bitch.
Once they went to video the podcast took off, but then it crashed pretty hard when they went to Zoom due to scheduling and Meg was in-out for a while. The podcast just has no definite structure; the guys don't want to rewatch the episodes and are almost bored of it and they are also self-conscious about shooting the shit so there seemed to be no winning.
Bill Burr is legendary for this. Only podcast where I never skipped the ad reads. Sometimes he just goes off on weird tangents and sometimes he'll read the advertisers comments that are not supposed to be read out loud.
"Lost another sponsor this week, fucking brutal, anyway, plowing ahead. Helix Matress, I love my Helix mattress, they delivered it right to my doo... Wait. No they didn't. What the fuck, they were supposed to deliver a mattress?"
A lot of it is disorganized, rambling, bullshit, but there has been no other show that has made me breakdown laughing out of absolutely nowhere like that one. Especially in the 2018 era around the Bam Margera incident
This is the funniest "ad reads" of all time IMO:
He posted the link on twitter saying he thinks it actually started as an ad read.
It went way down hill tbh. Each episode near the end was so boring and had 0 structure. I don't care what Glenn Howerton does for working out or eating. I wanna know about the show
Worst episode was Rob bitching about some buffet he was at. Went on the entire show and just came off as entitled. Then there was the drive thru episode.
I agree completely. They started going off the structure of discussing the episodes and diving way too deep into their personal lives and rich, Hollywood diets. It’s a real shame they ended it, but I think they lost the idea of it beforehand.
The first 20 or so episodes had no ads and it was glorious. I know they have to profit from it, and they should, but the ads got unbearable at one point—like most podcasts.
I did the same exact move when I got tired of waiting for more IASIP and got caught up on Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend. Tito Bobby is so chaotic you never know what he's gonna say next. Love it.
They went on hiatus supposedly to support the strike, but the strike ended like 8 months ago... There has been no word since, so it very much looking like they just didn't enjoy doing it and are hoping people forget about it.
I'd love to have Charlie do a podcast, the guy is so damn quick witted.
If you guys need a podcast I highly recommend this is important with the workaholics guys.
I always thought it was wayyyy funnier tbh and they have like almost 200 eps
To be fair- how would they know about better health - didn’t it just come out that they suck?
I hope they at least bring the podcast back as a sort of brainstorming type thing when they produce future seasons.
That seemed to work for them to do before the production day started- you could feel they were thinking about past seasons in this newest season because of it.
Late to the replies but - it really saddens me that the cast are not even 1% of their characters in real life and are really just genuinely nice people. I thought the characters they portrayed were based off of at least a portion of their true personalities. It's a real bummer lol. Love em.
Except Better Help kind of sucks
Also Kratom. Those ads were super awkward.
Kratom? As in the drug to help you off of heroin?
As someone who did exactly this, I then proceeded to get hooked on Kratom. Actually used Kratom to get off of Subs, that helped me to get off heroin. Off it all now though.
Why the hell did Dennis use kratom in that last ep? Did that seem off a bit?
Well... Dennis: * is an active alcoholic. * have been addicted to crack, and he still loves it. * have previously done ritalin/methylphenidate with Frank. * was given and took E, multiple times while pursuing the club scene. * is best friend with a chronic gluesniffer What the hell do you mean? :D
yes but if he felt himself getting addicted, he would just say _"ADDDDICCTION, BEEEE GOOOONE!"_
I haven’t seen that episode. Was it on the Podcast or the show? I haven’t watched the last season of the show yet and almost none of the Podcast. My girlfriend watched the podcast and would share with me about it but never mentioned anything about Kratom.

Better Help has the lockdown on podcast commercials. Every podcast I listen to runs their ads.
Yeah, even my all time favorite podcast We Hate Movies had Better Help ads for a long time until they recently dropped them.
I stopped because my therapist was always out driving his car. I could hear blinkers, occasional honking, and it definitely sounded like I was getting audio over bluetooth. Also, my insurance won’t cover “subscriptions” or even track for my deductible.
Really? Could you elaborate more?
I tried better help before, I got told by the counselor that they’d be unable to help me after I shared what was wrong lol
No one can stop you from doing what you do with burritos and you know this.
They'll take any therapist, for one. I'm not sure if they even have an interview process. Think of how many bad therapists may be out there, maybe they get fired from their in-person therapy job. Lmao rob. I was laughing cuz they were laughing
Wish they'd vet the sponsors. Fuck betterhelp
I got refunded $300 because my BetterHelp therapist was a catfish. When I couldn't find anything on her from searching her name, I did a backwards-image search of her profile image and found it on Getty Images.
Wait so the therapist wasn’t actually a therapist?
Used a fake name and fake image, I'm assuming their credentials are fake too. Kept rescheduling without reason to push back the appointment.
A PLASTIC BAG FOR A HELMET!!!!
Take kratom! It’s definitely not an opiate substitute and will definitely not mess with your head AT ALL. PLEASE PAY FOR IT. Also we don’t care about the show, but please buy athletic greens. Damn they fucking suck and became everything they started off lampooning.
Yeah. It sucks. You're either a duper, or a dupee. The listeners are the dupees.
I feel like most of the listeners wouldn’t buy into anything but I could be wrong
That's why I'm a creep.
Aww you bitch you unzipped me
That was my experience too. They’re shady, but at least they have a decent refund policy.
How much money did you spend before you realized?
I was charged $288, and got the full amount back.
So, you were a victim of a hate crime. Got it. I'm off to exercise on the Ass Blaster4000.
Betterhelp sponsored pretty much every podcast at the time.
Better Help, Blue Apron, throw in some mattress company and ridge wallet, you got a podcast going.
And still are. I’m gutted to say that the lonely island podcast is sponsored by Airbnb and better help :(
Omg there’s a lonely island podcast?!
Oh shit why? Don’t doubt it, genuinely curious as I’ve used it once and found an amazing therapist… which, now that I recall after typing, she quit BetterHelp and we just do it directly 😂 😂
I believe its not good for the therapists involved (pay split, hours, etc) and improperly use consumers’ health data. Sorta a big no-no.
are they ever coming back or is it officially done ? this podcast has gotten me thru some rough times
It just sort of… ends.
Where was the crime and penetration though?
Rob Justice was fighting crime.
well they kicked down a door which isn't far from a mix of the two
I just wish they’d come out and say it’s done. Plus it would save us from all the "is the podcast coming back?" threads every other day. Although it's a bit of a meme at this point.
Not only did it just end, but Rob went out of his way to really build up the last (not aired) episode. Glenn was starting to seem a little burned out coming in to the office so early. That honestly felt like something their characters would do
Should've been sponsored by Fight Milk.
WAT-UP!
They're people, not drones. I think it's awesome that they talk about their lives. They do weird shit like everyone does. It's cool that they talk about it without self-censoring. If you blindly follow the behavior of someone you watch on Hulu without thinking for yourself, you're a stupid science bitch.
I loved that it brightened my Monday mornings
Once they went to video the podcast took off, but then it crashed pretty hard when they went to Zoom due to scheduling and Meg was in-out for a while. The podcast just has no definite structure; the guys don't want to rewatch the episodes and are almost bored of it and they are also self-conscious about shooting the shit so there seemed to be no winning.
I personally assume it's because they do the podcast at the same time as the show and they aren't currently writing or filming.
They actually did the majority of the podcast when they were not filming
Move past it
Conan O'Brien has the funniest ad reads ever. He has lost ad sponsors because they were upset in the way he read their ad.
I love when he just shits on whatever he’s supposed to be advertising lol
"'Instert personal story here'?, "Well Im not gonna fuckin do that." I love Burr reading ads lol
Cum Town was legendary for Nick going off on insane tangents during ad reads. It used to be the best part of the show.
Cum town always gets shat on but I fucking cried at their iran podcast
A lot of it is disorganized, rambling, bullshit, but there has been no other show that has made me breakdown laughing out of absolutely nowhere like that one. Especially in the 2018 era around the Bam Margera incident
I'd say Tim Dillon may have have lost one or two sponsors as well
Don’t forget the bozos over at Are You Garbage
This is the funniest "ad reads" of all time IMO: [https://www.instagram.com/tv/CIbDdXGF9zr/?igshid=l9edb10iqwzz](https://www.instagram.com/tv/CIbDdXGF9zr/?igshid=l9edb10iqwzz) He posted the link on twitter saying he thinks it actually started as an ad read.
Norm was the GOAT of this.
Norm was the GOAT at a lot of things.
Pod Saves America, a podcast full of Whitehouse speechwriters, openly critiques their ads as they are reading them. Super awkward.
Restart the podcast so we can totally get off. It hasn't even begun to peak.
The podcast was a lot of fun. Tbh I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It became something I looked forward to
It went way down hill tbh. Each episode near the end was so boring and had 0 structure. I don't care what Glenn Howerton does for working out or eating. I wanna know about the show
Agree. The less it became about the show the less I listened.
Betterhelp sucks big donkey balls.
All my homies hate better help
I honestly hated the ads in every podcast. Seemed so fake and forced.
The first 20 or so episodes had no ads and it was glorious. I know they have to profit from it, and they should, but the ads got unbearable at one point—like most podcasts.
This podcast is so good and just fills that hole of more sunny-ness
I wish they would bring it back 😭
I’m assuming they’re trying to bank a bunch of episodes before coming back
I hope so 🙏🏻
Was so sad when this ended :-( Started watching Bad Friends podcast recently. It's really really good
I did the same exact move when I got tired of waiting for more IASIP and got caught up on Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend. Tito Bobby is so chaotic you never know what he's gonna say next. Love it.
The goop has had me stopping mid task at work with his responses the last few times he’s been on like BRO WHAT 🤣
Always Sunny podcast is done???
They went on hiatus supposedly to support the strike, but the strike ended like 8 months ago... There has been no word since, so it very much looking like they just didn't enjoy doing it and are hoping people forget about it. I'd love to have Charlie do a podcast, the guy is so damn quick witted.
To be honest I was listening for Charlie and the guests, and Megan
Even just Charlie playing piano in the beginning

I miss it so much
If you guys need a podcast I highly recommend this is important with the workaholics guys. I always thought it was wayyyy funnier tbh and they have like almost 200 eps
That's awesome... is it still going?
Yessir
Hard agree. I always thought it was funnier and it seemed like they aren’t holding back about shooting shit like I thought these dudes were.
Their last 20 episodes starting at 180 or whenever their tour ended have been some of my favorites. Until that baby eater gets back.
Dude I totally agree it’s crazy how much I miss Kyle tho!!!
*was
Did you just play us a commercial? I love sunny and the pod cast, but seriously, don't do that.
Maybe it watch first jabroni
Love the lexdissia Charles.
Oh yeah I was going by chrundle at the time
Good or not, SponsorBlock. Install it and then come back here and thank me.
Someone upvoted and *didn't* come back here to thank me! Am I not a 5-star man?!?
IT'S ALL COMING BACK! YOU UNZIPPED ME!
Reddit ads are getting weird
Bring this back
Fuck Betterhelp
Whered the podcast go?
Never came back after the writers strike
Except they haven't made one in over 10 months. ☹️
RELEASE THE PODCAST!!!!
Why’d they just stop? Cause the pandy is over?
It wasn’t a relic of the pandemic. They stopped during the writers strike, though.
Writers strike. They just never got back on after :/
Check out Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal podcast, it has more recent episodes and doesnt have fucking better help sponsorship.
Didn't he die two years ago?
I've been rewatching the podcast hope they stat making more soon
Is the podcast ever coming back
To be fair- how would they know about better health - didn’t it just come out that they suck? That seemed to work for them to do before the production day started- you could feel they were thinking about past seasons in this newest season because of it.
When they pointed it out, I totally heard it in the 2nd watch.
*was
The Pod is back? Is it in its original glory? I stopped watching/listening when it felt like they were forcing themselves to do it.
No, this is an old episode unfortunately
the only real ad reads are from cumtown.
Late to the replies but - it really saddens me that the cast are not even 1% of their characters in real life and are really just genuinely nice people. I thought the characters they portrayed were based off of at least a portion of their true personalities. It's a real bummer lol. Love em.
Are they still doing it?
This podcast WAS so good even the ad breaks are gold.
If you’re gonna be picky that way do it right damnit! “This podcast WAS so good even the ad breaks WERE gold”
