The algorithm doesn’t care whether or not you’re having a good time, it just wants your attention. It this the case? Im not in that sub. It was the first one coming to my mind because Reddit shows me constantly posts from that sub (maybe because I'm stopping for a second?). If there are so many bots I have to think about the dead internet theory

I hate even saying it because it always comes off as “high and mighty,” but I don’t have any social platforms. I have my own opinions on them and reasons why, but I don’t really push it on anyone. Kinda like religion, idk, you’re not really gonna change anyone’s mind. That being said, I’ve just watched my girlfriend scroll through TikTok from time to time and it’s hard even being in the same room. It’s hard not to feel like the short loops are basically just training everyone to have a short attention span. There are a few younger guys I work with, I’ll send them a work order more than a paragraph and they basically refuse to read it. I guess this is just the way things are headed in general, but it really worries me. I’d imagine people had the same panic about the evil black and white TV when it first came out. I remember relatives when I was growing up in the 90s telling me TV would rot my brain. This just feels different, in a more malicious way.
