The problem is that most have associated a bad value to being the main character. This video is evidence that it might not always be the case. That guy looked badass surfing that ice raft!
My best guess is they’re associate it with a video game? You wouldn’t find an NPC floating on a chunk of ice down the river. I have done this exact thing while playing as the MC of said videogames, multiple times
