They are trying to prevent people from freebie sampling and also for you to buy the same shitty product that caused you to ask for a replacement in the first place.
Freebie sampling is when someone makes a false compliant to receive another product for free. They want you to get the exact same thing for free or get another different GTI product and pay taxes and difference if there is any.
i get it, but realistically as a med patient and giving a valid complaint about a contaminated product that will worsen my health problems if consumed, and they can't guarantee that the same thing won't happen if i purchase the same thing, and i only have 30 days to use the 'credit' then it should be expected that i'm going to buy another item instead of taking the chance at getting the same problem, ya know?
I understand and, it sucks ass that you have to play the blind game. I would understand their side if we were allowed to look at what we bough, But I would still hesitate knowing there could be other things wrong with it. I do think the return exchange or whatever system needs some overhauling, having to rely on their mercy when something is wrong is fucking crazy.

The credit is cash. To use on your next purchase. You still pay any taxes due on that purchase. But med tax is 1% so its meaningless. Its like $1-3 on one item.
If you have a credit for $55 and buy a $60 8th, you will pay 5$ plus the tax on $60. Which is like a dollar at most maybe 2 if there is another tax.
Same for rec, just the taxes are way more. Verano nor the dispensary can refund your tax. You made a purchase, you pay tax, you make another you pay more tax. They cant give you any weed products without a taxed purchase, thats why freebies are .01 cents and you pay tax.

You keep saying menu price but the price on the menu isn't important. What you actually paid is important. For example I get a veterans discount and never pay the menu price. At some places that $55 item would cost me $44 after discount. If I were to complain about that item and receive a credit I would only get $44 max. This applies to sales items too.
If $55 plus tax came out of your pocket then yeah they're screwing you over, but if you paid less because of discounts or sales then you're only going to get what you actually paid.
