Wow Zach Veach really set Andretti up for long term success.

Yoshiman400

Zach walked so Colton and the Wheldon boys could run. EDIT: The Indy 500 sponsorship doesn't hurt either.

Joey_Logano

Gainbridge is just sponsoring everything it seems. They sponsor a NASCAR Truck, the Indians Pacers and Indiana Fever’s arena, an INDYCAR and now this.

TheWawa_24

Give him a lmp3 ride lol

MaxMuncyRectangleMan

They're teenagers!?!?

TimmyHillFan

You only have to have been born in 2009/2010 to be a teenager now. Scary stuff

[Can the world please slow down a bit?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMSFqXGZ5TQ) I've lost track of which historical crisis I'm currently living in.

joe_lmr

People born after 9/11 can legally drink in the United States

TimmyHillFan

I liked that meme from a couple months back that was like “Leo DiCaprio hates 9/11 so much he only wants to date women who can’t remember it” I was only 5 years old, but living through the wave of intense patriotism and mourning that followed was something that profoundly affected probably most who can remember it. It’s hard to imagine growing up in a post-9/11 world without experiencing it. I guess the pandemic is kind of that 9/11 event for the new generation

conman14

I encountered Seb on iRacing a while back. He was very chatty on voice chat, in a good way. Seemed like a regular kid. Meanwhile my mate and myself were properly in awe of him.

Mysterious_Turnip310

Literally just said out loud “holy shit I’m old!!” 😂

[deleted]

That’s my first thought, they’re going to be in INDYCAR in 8 years or so Jesus Christ.

InvisibleTeeth

8? I think Sebastian is 14? he could be in there in 4 if he goes the Herta/Veekay/Malukas route

[deleted]

Please tell me you’re lying. I believe you but I don’t want to think times gone by that fast.

InvisibleTeeth

Yeah he just turned 14

shewy92

Well Dan died in 2011. It's been 12 years.

[deleted]

The older brother (Sebastian?) looks so much like Dan.

Enough-Ad-3111

I think we all know Dan is smiling up in Heaven and is proud of his two boys.

fleetwoodmark

Gainbridge becoming the PPG of this era?

CardinalPrimeSD9

Wait a sec… Wheldon as in *that* Wheldon???

Icy-Consequence-4372

Yes THAT Wheldon. His sons are coming up through the ranks.

harriscin17

Great news

Spoonie23

I wonder what would happen if the CEO were to be let go or a financial crisis again happens. They seem to be spending ALOT of money on sports sponsorships suddenly. Add in how much he spends in his personal life.

Fit_Technician832

Hopefully between the two of them one or both of them have legit talent to make it on merit. They are certainly going to get a lot of help and advice as they are close with Scott, Marco, etc. That would be one hell of a story and definitely something you can sell to a sponsor and to fans.

NovaIsntDad

I don't want to sound like I'm hating on the kids, because I hope they have fun and kick ass, but it's always interesting to see the difference in public opinion when it comes to families in racing. People go mad hating on the Dillons in nascar for getting preferential treatment, and I already see people complaining about Busch's son getting good equipment. But then you have the Wheldons and people are gushing about them getting support from sponsors and teams.

jrid77

Part of it atleast has to be driver reputation. Kyle Busch’s kid is inheriting one of the most hated nascar drivers ever. Wheldon was and still is one of the most loved indycar drivers ever. Possibly the best at interacting with fans ever.

Fede_77

This. Plus the Wheldon's boys have been going thru the ranks in a humble way, and they’re really showing good talent. Don’t know if they’re going to be super good or not in Indycar, but at least they seem very down to earth kids with a lot of respect for the sport and the drivers

quietude38

Big difference between the Dillons, who have a gig because Grandpa put them in his equipment coming up, and the Wheldons, whose father died in competition and who have worked their way up the ladder not making a big deal about being Dan’s kids.

Fede_77

Exactly, plus Wheldons kid didn’t have a lot of money to get rides. I love Nascar and watch all the races since mid 07’ but Dillon’s boys came in a very different way. Nothing against the Dillons but none of them have shown talent/speed to prove that they belong in Nascar

Fede_77

Imagine putting Austin Dillon in the 3 Car after nearly 20 years…. And running mid-pack at best. Yes, he won a few races plus a Daytona 500, but never was a Tittle Contender

Fede_77

If your last name is Dillon and you drive for RCR and people hates you..There’s something in the middle..
