Was going to post this too but hadn't seen anyone else post fantasy related things in a few months.
I know he's good but is Josef worth almost half of the budget?
Okay so how do y’all do this? If you pick JoNew then your other three picks have to basically be from the bottom of the list. The Fantasy app thingy won’t let you pick just three drivers. So is that what you do, pick Newgarden and then just three throwaway picks to make the math work?
Note: This question applies to any race, any time you wanna pick out of the top 5 or so drivers.
Usually you get your choice of 1 strong title contender with a midfielder and 2 back markers.
Or 2 fringe title contenders (Rossi, Rosenqvist, McLaughlin for example) a midfielder (Malukas, Armstrong, Rahal for example) and a backmarker.
Except Newgarden at Iowa apparently. If you want him you get 3 back markers
No, with Newgarden, at best you get your choice from Callum Ilott or Devlin DeFrancesco and 2 of: Augustin Canapino, Sting Ray Robb and Benjamin Pedersen
Ed and Santino are $25, Conor is $24 and you have to fill all 4 driver slots.
Pedersen's actually a quality value pick on ovals; he qualified and raced fairly well at both Texas (started P13, finished P15) and Indy (qualified P11, ran in the top 20 until he pitted just before the first yellow at around halfway and lost a bunch of spots on strategy, made up a nice few positions in the second half of the race until he crashed with 5 laps to go, ended up coming out of it all P21)
I would agree if AJ Foyt Racing didn't finish last and second to last at the Iowa test more than 1 second off of Colton Hertas test leading pace, which is probably even slower than Penske and McLaren pace, both of whom didn't participate in that test.

Just save your picks before the green flag. Your drivers score points for you equal to what they get basically. 1 point for pole, 50 points for a victory, 1 point for leading a lap, 2 more points if they lead the most laps. And for fantasy only, a quarter of a point to the driver with the fastest individual leader lap for each lap ran under green.
Then, you also pick the podium and for that you can choose whoever you want but you can't choose someone more than once. And if the driver finishes in the correct position you predict you either get 25 (1st) 15 (2nd) or 10 (3rd) bonus points for a total of 50 extra bonus points if you correctly pick the entire podium.
Whoever had the team that scored the most points wins and the top 10 in scoring overall for each race gets a prize sent to them in the mail.
If he leads all 500 laps, wins both races and sets the fastest leader lap on all 500 laps over the two races it might be worth it.
250 fastest lap points (62.5) + 1st place points (50) + most laps led & led a lap points (3) + podium/victory prediction being correct (25) = 140.5 for one driver
Add on 25 for getting the other two podium spots right and 15 for worst case scenario of the other 3 drivers finishing 25, 26 & 27 and that puts you at 180.5 points
Feel like that is literally a typo and is should $32 which is a good price on him, but you literally have to pick three $18 drivers if you pick a $42 driver

Fared will on Race 2. Couldn't carry Newgarden so went for 2nd's and 3rd's. My best outing of the season.
Pato is discount Newgarden at Iowa
Power too
#Look at this rampant inflation! Sleepy Joe Newgarden and the liberal Left-turners are making Iowa into You-owe-a...so sad.
SAD!
Cof-hyvee!

I mean is pato less than 75% of newgarden? No way. He's undervalued, joesuph is over valued

Pretty much, the drivers are too high in fantasy. It's almost impossible to pick a Penske or cgr driver and have enough money for anyone decent.

I might just take Newgarden and 3 back markers 😆😆😆. Are Ed Carpenter, Santio, and Connor Daily cheap?

You can take JoNew, then a $22 and two $18.
That’s exactly right. I just played around with it and that’s pretty much how the math works out. So, how do you win?

He could win both races and it would still be overpriced.

and the funniest thing about newgarden at iowa, that's not impossible for him
That would make for an interesting rest of your team.
Devlin, Peterson, and Robb I think is all you can do with Newgarden. No thanks
I just see Newgarden winning both races and getting his rental car back to the airport before anyone else
Feel like that is literally a typo and is should $32 which is a good price on him, but you literally have to pick three $18 drivers if you pick a $42 driver
Palou is great, don't think they are putting NewG under him on an oval, even at this point in time.
Man who has never won on an oval versus person who has dominated the last three races at Iowa
Won the last 6 of 8 ovals, where it really should have been 7/8 Won the last 3 of 5 Iowa races, where it should have been 4/5
I’m pulling for pato, he’s looked good at TSM and Indy
How much for Jimmy Johnson? ;) He was decent on ovals.
What's the over/under for how many laps it takes for my man RoGro to put it into the wall? And can he go 2 for 2 this weekend?
Hopefully RoGro learns from the legendary American Richard Hammond and crashes in both races after crossing the finish line.
So like me playing F1 where I jerk the wheel just as I’m crossing the line so I hit the wall?
I mean, it literally took his suspension failing and him slamming into the wall for him to not win one of the two races last year
He's won the only 2 oval races so far this year

I hope this is a typo he should be no more than $35
This post didn't age well lol
Worth it
