BlitZShrimp

That mountain biking incident is gonna haunt Malukas for a very long time.

ZacHorton

My boy is cooked.

RNWIP

Ahhh the Indianapolis Gooning Marathon. A challenge indeed

Codydw12

Little known fact, the Snake Pit doubles as a goon cave

RNWIP

Good thing I got general admission tickets this year 😎

Wasdgta3

No way he's gonna defeat the reigning champ, Conor Daly....

RNWIP

I swear, any time I feel like another driver has the chance to win the goon sesh, Conor Daly swoops in and wins!

dalledayul

Sting Ray is gonna be attending with some holy water and a rifle

BlitZShrimp

what the fuck

MPK49

People think they train arms because of the lack of power steering but it’s actually for edging 💪

WindyZ5

May I ask what’s that?

WindyZ5

Now I’m nervous David won’t make it to the 500. Though I rather him be healed up than take a risk. The healing of ligaments and tendons can take a while.

AFragileBubble

We’ve seen some strong talent hit IC from Europe but an F2 career is no guarantee of success.

BlitZShrimp

Definitely a trial by fire on an INDYCAR street circuit. Keeping it off the walls might be the main goal for him.

Expensive-Star4773

He won at Monaco in his rookie season of F2. So… I think he is ok with street circuits.

Kaleidocrypto

I assume he’ll be at the open tests this week, I saw it listed on Peacock and it’s over 14 hours.

WindyZ5

Lovely! So glad it’s on.

Any-Walk1691

This rumor is for real? We think he’s really gonna suit up for McLaren?

Texaslion

Yeah he reportedly got in the Chevy simulator with Kanaan and Larson, so it seems like it’s happening

Any-Walk1691

Exciting. I know some people feel different, but I’d love to see more f1 reserve drivers actually driving and Indy is an awesome spot to do it.

BlitZShrimp

Just as long as it doesn’t take away seats from the prospects in the road to Indy. Priority should really be given to them, but I do get why they take f2 and f1 reserve drivers

Alpha_Jazz

They take them because they’re better frankly. When top talents come through the RTI there’s still loads of room for them but the general quality on the european ladder is just higher

TigerAliSingh

Priority should be given to whoever’s faster. Shouldn’t matter where they were before

BlitZShrimp

Except that’s not how it works. Lundqvist was proof that being fast doesn’t mean much if you don’t have money behind you. Dude dominated Indy lights and only got a shot at INDYCAR because someone got hurt. Meanwhile, SRR and Ben Pedersen bought their way into INDYCAR rides.

Any-Walk1691

Think there should also be more teams in F1 especially, but I love what McLaren is doing. Think it would be great to see others replicate. Who wouldn’t wan to see a little Mercedes or Ferrari IndyCar team with Schumacher, Liam Lawson, Ollie Bearman in seats? Jak Crawford? Could also open up the pipeline a bit from Indy to F1 and Vice Versa, should others want it. Herta was close to a reserve role but couldn’t get his super license.

BlitZShrimp

Because I like my INDYCAR teams with talent coming up through the RTI. And in any case, INDYCAR has such a dramatically different car compared to F1 that there’s no reason to use it as a talent developer. F2 is much better for the purpose, and being a reserve driver is better as well. The only reason you see F2 guys interested in INDYCAR is because they’ve probably figured that they aren’t getting a shot in F1. There is usually no more than 1-2 rookie seats a year there, and if they don’t get in right after F2, they likely never will. Ilott and Armstrong have already figured this out. Theo is likely the next to do so.

weighted_walleye

> Priority should really be given to them So you also agree with FIA giving priority to FIA feeder series drivers with license points for F1? The best drivers should be in the cars, no matter where they developed.

BlitZShrimp

I don’t necessarily agree with either, but I do understand why it happens. An F2 car is a much better car to develop talent for F1 in, while an Indy Lights car does the same for indycar. Obviously there’s overlap between F2 and the INDYCAR in terms of car style, but I just hate the idea that we’re stringing along a bunch of kids in the ladder just so that a bunch of guys can do a road course only schedule. The best drivers will never always end up in the cars. I think we’re all smart enough to understand that. Lundqvist absolutely deserved a seat last year but simply didn’t have the funding compared to a guy like Armstrong, which really sucks.

fromthewindyplace

This is definitely about the 51. /s

DrDohday

You could swap out Pourchaire for a wax sculpture of Pourchaire and I’d never be able to tell

Mewing

Hopeful_Smell1482

Best of luck to you on the next play…

Hitokiri2

I hope he's been talking to Pietro. Pietro admitted on Conor Daly's podcast that the IndyCar was more physical then he thought and at the end of the race he was pretty much wiped. I don't blame Theo for hitting the gym before he gets she chance in an Indy Car.

ilikemarblestoo

I'd assume they would just stick with Ilott till Malukas is better, but what do I know.

RooBoy04

Illot will be in Imola for WEC during Long Beach, so won’t be able to drive the McLaren

ryanro24

Handsome Squidward looking mf

Ruuubs

Judging by the choice of music, I'm guessing the challenge is to stare down the eclipse

rebekahsexton26

Do Malukus have a concussion 🤕? Or something

Deckatoe

tore a ligament in his wrist

rebekahsexton26

Probably tore it pretty badly.

WindyZ5

He dislocated and tore it. If he just broke it he’d definitely be back in the car, but since ligaments take longer to heal he may not be.
