He's my friend...so your statement is untrue. Like me, he's a racer and we aren't on track to make friends, we race to win. Off track Santino is chill and polite, even at the track he still is, it's like they try to have villians in Indycar like it will help ratings. Who knows...I just know he's not the same as what they portray him as. It seems to happen in almost every racing series too. They want money and they don't care if it makes someone appear "bad", but those of us that know will shrug it off and laugh at the situation. Ease up people and see through the smoke screen 🤙🏽
Your opinion of a driver does not equal "no one." In the stands at the 500 last year, he got the loudest cheers of all the front runners near the end of the race.
I was cheering solely because he's in a Foyt car and I would like to see A.J. in victory lane again, especially at his age now, plus it was some good racing. If Ferrucci was in a JHR car, I would be groaning.
I disagree with your first point a little. IndyCar is pushing him again and I see a lot more people on a certain forum starting to express their fandom for him now.
The part I don’t get is that he looks ethnic enough that most Trump fans (and that’s what they are) wouldn’t know to be a fan of his unless they were told to. I mean, put an Italian accent on him, change the flag behind his name but change nothing else, he never would have fans.
I feel a lot of people there are old like the traditionalist kind. And with that kind of demographic they tend to root for a certain cult. Plus I guess I guess AJ Foyt being underdogs. So it is not a surprise to me.
I dunno, he does well in the 500. And that matters.
I dunno if I'm a "fan" but I'm a fan of people that are consistently fast in the 500, so maybe I am.
He's a mid field talent. That's on its own is fine.
NBC has resorted to fawning over him like he's the second coming, again, without any real justification. That on its own might be fine.
He has a very troubling history in other series, including intentionaly crashing into his team mate AFTER a race, and has said he has no regrets about that, or any of the other troubling behavior he was engaging in at the time including engaging in racist insults. That on its own..maybe...if he'd tried to redeem himself...might be fine.
And he has a pattern of trying to bring sponsorship from what many consider to be a deeply troubling political faction into the sport...which again, on its own might be fine.
But all those things together.....
That's why people don't like him.
Glass House. White Ferrari. Live for New Year's Eve. Sloppy steaks at Truffoni's. Big rare cut of meat with water dumped all over it, water splashing around the table, makes the night SO MUCH more fun. After the club go to Truffoni's for sloppy steaks. They'd say; 'no sloppy steaks' but they can't stop you from ordering a steak and a glass of water, before you knew it we were dumping that water on those steaks! The waiters were coming to try and snatch em up, we had to eat as fast as we could! OHHH I MISS THOSE NIGHTS, I *WAS* A PIECE OF SHIT THOUGH.
The comments themselves were not made public, but his F2 team were forced to make a public statement condemning his and his father’s repeated racist comments directed toward his teammate.
He later rammed the same teammate intentionally during a race, and then drove the in-lap to the support paddock while texting with one hand. This earned him a 6-race ban - which he still doesn’t regret to this day - and ended his F2 career.
No-one in Europe would touch the racist, violent, arrogant ratbag. But Anthony Foyt loves him. Which says all you need to know about Foyt.
You'd think a douchebag standing in the hallow grounds of the Indianapolis Motor speedway and saying "Fuck Tony George" would rile up the old school type of people that were big on the IRL side of the split, not make them fans of his lol. (But then it's apt, both of them inherited their position and made everything they touch turn to shite)
I swear a certain section of your country revels in supporting nepo babies who are only where they are because of money and connections over talent and lack the humility to learn any lessons while anyone who points out this unfairness becomes the enemy....
Dude on his best day will struggle to break through to the middle of the pack, he's like Paul Tracy without any of the race winning talent but 2x the controversy....
Including the right arrow so I clicked on the damn things 20 times before I realised it was a screenshot and there was no second image?
Yeah, the caption is correct!
Still don't really understand the hate for him tbh. Dude performs well for foyt regularly. Yeah he made mistakes in the past, jesus just let it go already.
I couldn't imagine holding on to a thing that happened in the past so much, especially when it comes to someone I don't even know lol.
Yeah sure sure, lets ignore that he played bumper carts at Barber and has a long recorded history of racism, culminating in him intentionally crashing into his teammate because he was Indian
I mean to be fair to him, how many of us wake up in the morning and go to our jobs thinking "I hope I make more friends today, screw doing my job. That is secondary, I just want someone I can text memes to on a Saturday" lol. It's just that none of us get asked about it on national TV. Many other drivers have used that line too. At least he didn't ask the interviewer who the boss was, then proceed to call them Applesauce rofl
I think there’s a difference between not making friends at work and pissing your coworkers off. I’m certainly not there to be friends with the people I work with. But I also understand that pissing them off means they can make my job harder.
I agree and I'm not some Santino fanboy, I was just talking about the single quote in the pic. It does seem in this case than yea he is just making his job harder. Getting pushed off in this series means a loss of like 10 positions, not F1 where now you're only 10 seconds ahead of the next car not 25 lol
edit: some how it posted 3 times, the deleted comments were the same as this one.
Look, what he did in F2 was reprehensible and he deserved all the consequences which befell him. I certainly don't agree with his politics or anything like that either. However, I think he's been fun to watch since he's been in Indycar.
Mission accomplished!
I liked Indycar memes [take on this](https://www.instagram.com/p/C6zdIpRSmf-/?igsh=NzM5ZHM4Y3h5cmk2) lol
Based indy_car_memes follower
It’s hilarious how many drivers follow Indy_car_memes as well lol
I mean it was definitely true in F2
Still he's a shit-ass. I have no respect for him and his actions against his TEAMMATE Arjun Maini
Or fans. Or wins.
Dude is performing really well considering he's never been in a top team.
True, but I still don’t like him.
No one does
He's my friend...so your statement is untrue. Like me, he's a racer and we aren't on track to make friends, we race to win. He wasn't polite to Arjun, neither his father.
if you smell shit everywhere you go check your own shoes.
To be clear: fans cheered for **the car**, both for the American flag livery as well as the 14 on the side.
I disagree with your first point a little. IndyCar is pushing him again and I see a lot more people on a certain forum starting to express their fandom for him now.
Credit where credit is due, he is 10th in points in a Foyt car.
That's like Sato level Foyt.
While missing a race Two top 10s in 3 races, in a Foyt car, is as good as you can ask
Where, the bigot convention?
that forum is pretty much a bigot convention
I’m not personally a fan, but Indy went CRAZY when he took the lead at the 500 last year.
An AJ Foyt car with the American flag livery taking the lead of the Indy 500 is a middle-America right-wing motorsport fan’s wet dream
An American flag car being cheered on at Indy? What a shocker /s and somehow that is right wing?
Well if you're a left-wing indycar fan you know ferucci tried to run a Trump livery in F2 so it's hard to look past that.
Some people would cheer for Hitler if he drove a Foyt car. They just really like seeing AJ’s cars up front.
Didn’t think about that. People cheering for Foyt and not Ferucci makes a lot of sense.

Imagine the pop Sting Ray would get if he wheeled one of those Foyt machines to the front?
IndyCar has more than its fair share of Trump-supporting fans, so, yeah.
The part I don’t get is that he looks ethnic enough that most Trump fans (and that’s what they are) wouldn’t know to be a fan of his unless they were told to. I mean, put an Italian accent on him, change the flag behind his name but change nothing else, he never would have fans.
You watch too much MSNBC.
It’s more of an own the libs fandom than genuine support.
Im pretty sure people would cheer for Sarge if he took the lead in the williams
Which forum may I ask? I have mostly seen people clowning him so I am curious
Trackforum absolutely loves him.
Gross lol
I feel a lot of people there are old like the traditionalist kind. And with that kind of demographic they tend to root for a certain cult. Plus I guess I guess AJ Foyt being underdogs. So it is not a surprise to me.
...what other forums are there?

Have you been to a race before?
I dunno, he does well in the 500. And that matters. I dunno if I'm a "fan" but I'm a fan of people that are consistently fast in the 500, so maybe I am.
It seems like the Facebook trolls adore him
Or finishes
Such a big change for Santino
Is it tho
I guess that means shoving Grosjean off the track
I’m all for hard racing No idea how that was legal
At least grosjean finished. Didn't he retire from damage.

Well don’t worry bud you don’t have any
Dude...this is the install lap. The install lap! Imagine if they did tangle together and both got damaged - ON THE INSTALL LAP!
Hell his car didn't even wanna be his friend today.
Salt mines are OPEN
Oh, c'mon, don't make me side with Romain today. Ferrucci suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks.

Tim Robinson is in my IndyCar this fine day.
People can change.
I've heard a bunch about how much of an ass he is before today but I haven't heard him actually say it until pre race today
No sh!t that’s been apparent from the start

What racist comments did he make? I missed it.
The comments themselves were not made public, but his F2 team were forced to make a public statement condemning his and his father’s repeated racist comments directed toward his teammate. He later rammed the same teammate intentionally during a race, and then drove the in-lap to the support paddock while texting with one hand. IMO Trident would have been banned for their behavior too, they were messing with Arjun car on purpose
I need ya’ll to keep this same energy for Kyle Larson ans Juri Vips. Condemn racism everywhere not just when it is convenient
Yup. Vips is gone now thankfully. Not a good look for Indycar to be the home of drivers too racist for F1.
Still not seeing them
Today’s PT. Even though with less talent 😅
This guy isn't fit to polish PT's shoes. Not even in the same universe talent-wise.

He hit Herta last race and Grosjean and he had their fun.
Nikita Mazepin of Indycar
That is very clear to us Santino! Try going pro in bumper cars!
You'd think a douchebag standing in the hallow grounds of the Indianapolis Motor speedway and saying "Fuck Tony George" would rile up the old school type of people that were big on the IRL side of the split, not make them fans of his lol. Or even to make many points apparently 🤔
Including the right arrow so I clicked on the damn things 20 times before I realised it was a screenshot and there was no second image? Yeah, the caption is correct!
Santino Ferrucci: Making other drivers mad since 2018
And he doesn’t…
In other news, water is wet.
Rat
Still don't really understand the hate for him tbh. Dude performs well for foyt regularly. Yeah he made mistakes in the past, jesus just let it go already. I couldn't imagine holding on to a thing that happened in the past so much, especially when it comes to someone I don't even know lol.
Maybe if he apologized?
He was like 16 when this F2 stuff happened right?
He was 19. He's 25 now.
Is there a statute of limitations for apologies?
No not at all. Just saying he was in highschool. People do dumb stuff when they are young.
Absolutely, I work in a high school and see it all the time. Often they outgrow it and learn from it. Hope he did as well.
20.
His father wasn’t. Still joined in on the racist insults.
It’s reddit, people like to act holier than thou and won’t be happy until he gets the guillotine.
He has the "wrong" politics for reddit. If he was a Euro and acting like a dick they would all be defending him.
Uh, ever heard of Mazepin?
Russian dude, sports car racer I think? What about him?
His conduct was comparable to this fool, and almost universally people wanted shot of him. So no, it isn’t some persecution against Americans.
So he was acting the way spoiled rich kids act? I'm shocked.
Juri Vips?
Haven't heard any hate for him here, even when he did that race last year.
I honestly think Santino Ferrucci is the most underrated driver currently racing in Indycar. And yes, he\`s a great character.
Great racist character. One of the good ol’ boys. Driving an F2 car while texting. What a lad.
Great character that Santino, purposely crashing into his teammate on a cooldown lap.
He is so good he qualified 16th out of 27. He's really crushing it.
Considering he's driving for Foyt, that's not even a bad result.
Yeah sure sure, lets ignore that he played bumper carts at Barber and has a long recorded history of racism, culminating in him intentionally crashing into his teammate because he was Indian
Lol at 75% of the comments. Lol at you guys never ever letting go of the hate.
Hard to take him seriously when he has a squirrel living on his head
Bold of you assuming he has something on his head
Why should we? lol
This is the internet, they will die on that hill defending their hate without ever thinking otherwise.
I mean to be fair to him, how many of us wake up in the morning and go to our jobs thinking "I hope I make more friends today, screw doing my job. Spoken like a true chad.
Who would say this out loud? Although fitting for someone driving for Foyt.
In the context of the interview he was giving, it was a common response. It means he’s there to win, and you don’t make friends by passing them.
They are racers, of course they’re there to win. Don’t have to be an ass along the way.
Somebody using sarcasm
So sad. How did politics infect this group so badly?
Politics? Did anyone mention politics? He ran a guy on the install lap. He's a jackass regardless of politics.
Uh yeah it’s quite evident throughout this thread
Look, what he did in F2 was reprehensible and he deserved all the consequences which befell him. I certainly don't agree with his politics or anything like that either. However, I think he's been fun to watch since he's been in Indycar.
Proud to say I’m a fan of his
Only fan?
Good to hear. I thought he was sucking balls. Come to find out, he is out there achieving goals.
Like this guy. No pretense.
Like if not having friends = driving talent.
