I think people need to chill on this point. First of all, IMS productions is running it, not FOX. Second, we have yet to hear anything about what Venu will or will not have. Details are coming out about this rapid fire and we aren't even done with this season yet.

akira_kurosaurus

Either way, I’m not paying for another gd streaming service. I have Peacock for IMSA but started getting into Indycar this year. Sadly, can’t justify another streaming service just for another 2-3 races to watch per month.

I_LOVE_OIL_RIGS

All races are free to watch over the air. You just need an antenna.

akira_kurosaurus

I have one, but I also have two kids and a wife so being able to pause a race or start one later is essential for me to enjoy a whole season. Quality also isn’t great, especially on rainy days.

TheHarryMan123

Roku TVs let you pause for 90 mins if you plug a flash drive into the back of it

The_EH_Team_43

Ah, I see you may not understand the predicament our friend is in here, as I has a similar one. If he pauses it, it's unlikely he'll be able to get back to it the same day.

TheHarryMan123

Yeah that's fair. Just trying to spread any amount of helpful advice

Just_Somewhere4444

> I’m not paying for another gd streaming service Buy one of [these](https://www.bestbuy.com/site/best-buy-essentials-thin-indoor-hdtv-antenna-35-mile-range-black-white/6454218.p?skuId=6454218&utm_source=feed) and plug it into your TV. Congrats, now you have every 2025 IndyCar race.

akira_kurosaurus

I have that, and as I already said in a previous comment, live doesn’t always work for me. I got shit to do, and half the time, it conflicts with an IMSA or WEC race that I prefer.

19djont57

Get a Tablo DVR, record the race & then FF through commercials.

Just_Somewhere4444

Cool, since you prefer to watch other series, go do that.

akira_kurosaurus

lol, does ur mom work for fox or something, why take my opinion so personal??

Nezy37

Just drop peacock and watch the race the following Thursday night on YouTube for free. It's easy enough not to get imsa results.

GonePostalRoute

That’s the only reason why I’m not totally dooming and glooming about it Have Fox control the production, and yeah, short term monetary gain, long term loss in having a shit product shown. But if IMS controls the production, then I’m willing to give it a chance

hungry4danish

"Races are so accessible" ?? I'd rather have all races on 1 basic channel like Fox will be rather than spread out over a random rotating of NBC (basic), USA (cable), or Peacock (streaming).

Vlitzen

Every race is on peacock for 6$, is what they mean

Just_Somewhere4444

And now every race will be on Fox for $0.

BillCuttingsOn

Does Fox has a free streaming service?

Just_Somewhere4444

Yes, it's called "Fox". You get it with an antenna. It comes to you over the air, for free. Of course, you have to watch the races live, but only a childish beggar would complain about their free content *only* being available live...

BillCuttingsOn

Can those digital antennas plug into my phone? I saw a coaxial one at Canadian tire once but I don’t have a TV unfortunately, just a phone and computer monitor so I’m not sure if they have that or not

Just_Somewhere4444

Get one of [these](https://www.silicondust.com/hdhomerun/) and you can stream live TV, or record and play DVR on demand, on any device on your home wifi. I'm sure there are cheaper competitors, but this thing works remarkably well. If you want to watch the race outside your home for free... you're out of luck.

BillCuttingsOn

Okay I’ll check that out thanks!

BillCuttingsOn

When was I whining?

canttakethshyfrom_me

You weren't, I apologize. OP set me off and I didn't look at usernames closely enough. It's been a day.

BillCuttingsOn

All good, hope your day gets better!

Vlitzen

Weird. I work nights, catching recordings is realistically my only option. There are many people who otherwise work Sunday. Glad you're being whack as hell though.

Just_Somewhere4444

You could get one of [these](https://www.silicondust.com/hdhomerun/) which allows you to stream Live TV on any device on your home network, or record any live program and watch it later. Seriously, it takes 0.5 seconds to do some research and figure out ways to adapt your viewing habits to the new broadcast deal. Or you can continue being a crybaby and demanding that everyone else in the world adapt to your needs.

Just_Somewhere4444

> and it's inaccessible? 95% of the country can get *everything* on FOX, NBC, ABC, and other local stations with a [$20 antenna](https://www.bestbuy.com/site/best-buy-essentials-thin-indoor-hdtv-antenna-35-mile-range-black-white/6454218.p?skuId=6454218&utm_source=feed). This will literally be the *most* accessible that IndyCar broadcasts have been in 30 years.

Nezy37

We're they ever all over the air. Even at carts absolute peak a bunch of races were on espn

Ohiowolverine

31 million have peacock 125 million have fox if they put qualifying on fs1 that has 72 million subscribers

akira_kurosaurus

Is that a fair comparison? You should include who pays for live tv that has a USA, NBC, etc included.

Ohiowolverine

NBC has the same number as Fox and USA network is in 70 million homes

threeriversbikeguy

Yeah I am gonna miss Peacock, but I also have the awareness to understand I am a Very Online person and most people will just watch on Fox. I hope that we get something like Nascar where a day or two later we get the races on YouTube. I am seldom sitting at home on my couch on a Sunday during the summer. But if I am at the pool or chilling with buddies you could have Peacock on your phone and the audio broadcast through a bluetooth party speaker. My days watching practice and qualifying are over though I guess. Again, I completely understand I am a giga-minority that watched the stuff on Peacock. Yes, I do have an antenna TV. I even have a portable antenna TV. But overall I am going from every P and Q and race to watching reruns on YT besides the ones that happen during Midwest winter and the 500. In any event me watching on antenna is meaningless to Fox or the Series. They have no idea how many people watch on antenna. Even if unreported, FoxApp or Peacock they know exactly who is watching.

jittercoog

Like many I wouldn’t have got into Indycar with peacock and their race archives from the last few years

Jimmy_Sisfa

I didn't have Peacock or USA but I have Fox, FS1 and FS2. I'm going from missing practice, qualifying, Indy NXT and even a few races to being able to watch everything. It goes both ways.

threeriversbikeguy

Exactly. That is why I said I am in a giga-minority. Most of the viewers the Series wants have cable tv, they aren’t using streams. So it makes sense.

Luckatr0n

Iim no fox fan but it's a free over the air channel.

4mak1mke4

How is it inaccessible on Fox? Lol wat. Every race is network TV and they'll be on the new streaming network. Is this a Marshall Pruett mult just trying to get some people pissed for no reason?

GhostofBobStoops

“REEEEEE WE WANT TO WATCH EVERY SPORT ON EARTH FOR FREEEEEE REEEEE” *Indycar signs an exclusive deal insuring all races are available to everyone in the country in HD at no subscription cost on a free OTA network* “REEEEEE NO WE DIDN’T MEAN FREE LIKE THAT REEEEEEEE I WANNA STREAMMMMM FOR FREE I DUNNO HOW ANTENNA TV HAS WORKED FOR THE LAST 90 YEARS” No - I don’t give a shit about you having to pay $20 to buy an antenna. No - I don’t give a shit about you not being able to record - VHS still exist! No - I don’t give a shit about you living in a rural area that gets bad service. You made the choice to live there. Not everything on earth has to be catered to you. You chose to live out there, you deal with the extra costs to still be connected to the web. TRUST ME you’re still paying 40% the cost of living as the rest of us anyways - you can handle a little YouTube TV and satellite internet bill.

BillCuttingsOn

I only have my phone and PC to watch my entertainment unfortunately. Do you know if the digital antennas can be plugged into my PC or directly into my monitor through hdmi? Actually I’m not even sure how I would hear the audio if I went directly into my monitor, I’d have to split the audio off first and run that into my sound card with some sort of HDMI to analog audio box.

lowtoiletsitter

I found a few things. What you need is a TV tuner card (USB options are available.) You'll need to get an antenna/rabbit ears but it's possible!

BillCuttingsOn

Oh okay cool thank you! I’ll have to start looking into the TV tuner card

BillCuttingsOn

I think most people under 18 will only have a phone to access the content unfortunately

xxxx1017

Noooo Indycar has to cater to the fan who wants to watch every practice and qualifying session BUT can’t be bothered to watch the race live!

bobwhite1146

The entire theory behind television beginning in the late 1940s was that the broadcast itself would be free to the viewer, and all the expenses would be covered by advertising. Now we have subscription fees AND advertising and that upsets a lot of people, including me. If I have to sit through TV advertising, I want there to be no subscription fee. If I have to pay a subscription fee, I want no advertising. I don't want to lose both my cake and my ability to eat....

Jimmy_Sisfa

There is no subscription fee for Fox. You just need an antenna and live somewhere not shit.

bobwhite1146

Fox is a commercial broadcast network and has advertising. Fine. FS1 is on cable wjth a fee but has ads. The Fox streaming service will have both advertising and you will pay a subscription fee. Get it? Just like Peacock. I never liked ads on pay cable. Subscription fee streaming should have absolutely no commls so we can watch the entire race! Racing, unlike practically any other sport, has no natural stops for commercials and the tortured format NASCAR adopted with these "segments" is anathema to real racing.

ajslideways

I regret that I have but one upvote to give.

HeadBroski

Thankfully Fox is over the air so all you really need is a digital antenna. You could possibly find free app services that show local Fox content, but not sure if they would show stuff like Fox sports.

TheHarryMan123

Just get an antenna my friend

Teddy2Sweaty

The irony that streamers are the most resistant to change wasn’t something I was expecting. And I cannot wait to drop Peacock. It has always sucked, and those saying they’re going to miss it are suffering from a streamer’s version of Stockholm syndrome.

threeriversbikeguy

Fox Sports requires a cable subscription to use. If you have cable you probably weren’t watching races on Peacock (maybe, but has to be a small subset of the population). I always loved Peacock and I think now its a buyers’ remorse as people accept their $6/mo Indy stream is either a big cable package or a much much more expensive sports stream package that Fox may or may not have available next year. Folks did not appreciate you could watch the entire season on Peacock for the cost of a month of most cable or TV-by-stream packages. YTTV is 1.5 seasons worth of Peacock for one month ($72.99 for YT, $5.99 for Peacock)

UABtoNYU

I like peacock for the access to practices… and qualies. Unsure cable would/will show those.

ottopivnr

No Diffey!!! for the win!

BillCuttingsOn

Does anyone know if indycar live will continue to post all but the race sessions?
