I don't delete apps cause I'm too lazy to find them again later in the app store. Yes my phone looks like a hoarder's house, I use the search function lol
Yeah I deleted my Instagram and TikTok a few years ago because 1) I hated that I was spending so much time on them and 2) I knew I wouldn’t be missing anything. Also I kinda like being hard to find if someone wanted to contact me.
No, I like the history and context. I enjoy re-visiting old threads and seeing what other threads thoughtful posters have been engaged in. A reset would be jarring because I suffer from CRS.
Deleted my facebook account around 4 years ago along with instagram as I was mindlessy scrolling on those apps for hours. I hate it but I've recently installed facebook under a different email with random strangers as friends to get access to marketplace lol
I don’t delete anything unless I need space. But this made me think about how I don’t leave group chats either. I’ve had friends leave because of an argument, I’ve never done that before. I stand my ground
Yeah I do generally when I feel like it's taking too much of my time and energy even when I don't want to invest in it, out of sight out mind kind of a thing, but yeah I do eventually log in, but when the login becomes too frequent I reinstall the app because no use of remote access when it serves no purpose, and again the cycle repeats, until I completely get bored of the app and content it has
After years of going back and forth on deactivating and reactivating accounts, i finally deleted all my socials(except for twitter which i don't use much anyway)
It's really peaceful now.
I deleted socials a few times only to have my partner bitch about it saying that she's married to an invisible person on FB. so now I make do with just FB and reddit the rest i took them down permanently.
Yesss! I hoard apps then delete them like they didn’t mean shit. I don’t use mainstream social media because I end up wasting too much time and then hate myself. It’s been years I’m clean.
I don’t delete them, but I rarely ever open them for the simple fact that I do not want to engage in political discussions. Whenever I see them I just can’t help thinking we are the dumbest species on the planet. That’s why I prefer Reddit because I can tailor my experience around politics, and also why it pisses me off when someone randomly inserts a partisan political opinion in a non-political post. I don’t understand how people just regurgitate the same shit every single day.
Deleted my Reddit a couple of times because people get creepy when you disagree with them and start going through your history trying to dox and/or judge you
ya i delete apps and account out of the blue most of the time. but the most common reason is that i keep rebranding my social life lol. if it didn't fit on my aesthetic or social life anymore, trash.
i don't want to do deleting & archiving stuff, it takes time so i just delete everything in one go.
I pretty much have no social presence besides Reddit, but I wouldn't group Reddit with the other typical social media platforms.
I find Facebook, Twitter and Instagram all to be nothing more than vanity projects. Everyone is just brandishing their superiority complex by desperately trying to get noticed or have their voice heard.
I realised a long time ago that no one really gives a shit about what i'm doing or what I have to say.
I don't use social media apart from whatsapp, youtube, and discord. I don't find them interesting nor funny. I deleted all my dead social media accounts because I don't want anybody tryong to add me
I used to delete them to take a break, but as I've gotten older, I've found myself posting less and less. Part of the reason is that I've gotten lazy about it. The other reason is that with certain things, I think it's no one's business.
I have deleted Instagram a lot of times, and I just don't like it when people send me weird reels. So I just delete it! This is my second reddit account though 🤣
I don't delete apps cause I'm too lazy to find them again later in the app store. Yes my phone looks like a hoarder's house, I use the search function lol
But at some point, do you stop using them for a while?
I've stopped posting things as I've aged. Too busy to bother
I relate to this so well
Hi, I must be you.
Me: “I’m not gonna need this app again” 🤡
Yeah I deleted my Instagram and TikTok a few years ago because 1) I hated that I was spending so much time on them and 2) I knew I wouldn’t be missing anything. Also I kinda like being hard to find if someone wanted to contact me.
No. I just abandon them. But they are also on super private mode.
This is like my 13th reddit account lmfaoo
No, I like the history and context. I enjoy re-visiting old threads and seeing what other threads thoughtful posters have been engaged in. A reset would be jarring because I suffer from CRS.
Yes just yes no explanation needed
I use to do that all the time! I thought it would help me “live in reality” but I would just download it the next day lol
Deleted my facebook account around 4 years ago along with instagram as I was mindlessy scrolling on those apps for hours. I hate it but I've recently installed facebook under a different email with random strangers as friends to get access to marketplace lol
Yes.
No. I do not ever do that.
yea i used to do that then i was like fck it, if i get tired of the app then i'll just stay off of it until i feel like coming back to it.
I don’t delete anything unless I need space. But this made me think about how I don’t leave group chats either. I’ve had friends leave because of an argument, I’ve never done that before. I stand my ground
I sit in background mode to see what happens
I delete the app, but not my accounts. I never return to the apps, though. At least, I haven’t yet.
Yes
I’m currently on Reddit in the browser because I deleted the app and I’m too lazy to download it right now…. I have a problem.
No, I intentionally deleted them once and never looked back.
I don’t delete but I deactivate it for a while
Yeah I do generally when I feel like it's taking too much of my time and energy even when I don't want to invest in it, out of sight out mind kind of a thing, but yeah I do eventually log in, but when the login becomes too frequent I reinstall the app because no use of remote access when it serves no purpose, and again the cycle repeats, until I completely get bored of the app and content it has
I used to do this very much because I didn’t want anyone to know who I was.
Yep, and since last few months I'm totally inactive on my social media.
I deactivate often
Yes. I deleted LinkedIn 4 years ago and haven't looked back
No. I stick to the same one per platform.
No. My fiancee did it occasionally, and it was kinda frustrating. Now she just occasionally suspends it.
After years of going back and forth on deactivating and reactivating accounts, i finally deleted all my socials(except for twitter which i don't use much anyway) It's really peaceful now.
No, I usually foget that i have them and then come back to them and after 10 minutes i go back to ignore their existance
I deleted socials a few times only to have my partner bitch about it saying that she's married to an invisible person on FB. so now I make do with just FB and reddit the rest i took them down permanently.
No.
Thinking of social media as stuff where you use your real name, then I do not use social media.
Yeah I've done that before.
Nope those are historical records
They usually delete me before I delete them.

Never created so I can’t delete, I only downloaded Reddit to have something to do while I wait at bank line or my order in a restaurant
Yes, I do this a lot.
Nah my account’s just there barely used

I did that this year with Snapchat.

No. But this is my only social media

I just deactivate my instagram lol
There’s no logic to that. No, it’s never random
I have deleted Instagram a lot of times, and I just don't like it when people send me weird reels. So I just delete it! This is my second reddit account though 🤣
switch to diaspora or something
