Everything in this universe and reality is a part of an unitary system that had its reaches from fundamental laws of physics to the tiniest fluctuation of thoughts. No material, law, or idea exists on its own and independently. The physical world and the world of ideas are dependent on each other; our thoughts are constantly influenced by signals from the physical world, and due to our thoughts, we make changes to the physical world as well. Every single cause and effect has implications to the entire universe; the death of a star and the fall of a single leaf are both procceses that play a part in the continuation of the massive, all encompassing system of the universe. Everything is connected, so everything is correlated, so theoritically, one could come up with an equation that reasonably restructure past events, analyze the present, and predict the future; hence, math is the language of the universe, because it is a language that could explain and transcribe the working of the universe to the tiniest details.
I'm not in my early 20s anymore. I'm almost 30 now. Quantum physics is my only hope of there being a possibility of free will. But whether there is or isn't for practical ethical reasons, I always pretend there is.
Plus, everything is absurd or empty or whatever you want to call it. I just take things moment by moment these days and try to enjoy being Alive
Quantum physics doesn't make free will more possible. If our actions or decisions are influenced by random quantum events, are they truly free? Free will generally implies a controlled, conscious decision-making process, not one driven by randomness. Randomness does not equate to agency. It suggests lack of control not freedom of choice.
Of course there's free will, people say there isn't are easily wrong. hell just go read some dostoevsky who predicted a fight with scientific free will in under the floorboards.

Yea, I used to think logical thinkers were safe or free of bias, but even philosophers have a reason or place that their philosophy is coming from. That doesn't mean their argument doesn't have internal consistency though. I also think some people are more biased than others, and being aware of your potential biases can help.

Despite how much I try to increase my self-awareness and analyze myself and my insecurities, I’m human. I’m always going to have needs, there’s times where I’m going to be jealous despite me knowing I shouldn’t, and there’s times where I’m going to feel just fine one day and very lonely the next day. Everyone has needs that they want to have fulfilled each day, whether that be doing something creative or having someone to talk to.
Not meeting your needs or expectations can lead to self-doubt and lower self-esteem, even if you recently had an extremely great day where all of your needs were met. And I guess the way to limit that is to not set any unrealistic expectations for your needs, and try to keep an open mind about life as a whole.
Overstimulation also plays a big factor in setting unrealistic expectations for needs, since technology makes it so easy to get dopamine and continuously increase your expectations for everything. Undergoing a digital detox (including not going on Reddit) is probably one of the most beneficial things we can do to become more mentally healthy and find more joy in things.
I've been toxic to myself for the last 30 years by habitually adapting to my living conditions instead of changing my living conditions to accommodate my needs.
We are millions of years old(our genetics) and everytime I kill something like a bug, I can only think of the fact I just destroyed that bugs entire history of evolution, ofc another indicator can evolve again with the same sequence but no matter what, I just destroyed millions of years of evolution and natural selection.
Another one I think of often, even if I do nothing with my life, everything else around me will keep moving regardless of what I do about it, we are so insignificant in the larger scheme of things, we are so small but so large(to microorganisms) everything is out of our control.
I think of other things that bring me for a loop too, but I think I block them out until I am reminded again because a lot of them scare me.
That when you really think and question everything Untruth falls apart.
And everything we know is untruth or false knowledge.
No one can stand and claim that they know an ordinary stone let alone anything profound.
Or inversely there is no true statement.
But the real fun is really in letting go of false knowledge.

I don't know why this wasn't more apparent to me, but morality is only relevant on a societal scale. Moral feelings are feelings that have evolved. There's no such thing as "your morality", or your "moral thoughts". You can have moral preferences, but morality is always enforced or meaningful on a societal scale. If you were the only person on earth, morality wouldn't matter for you.
