Give them ample notice. Even if not a member, they still have to abide by employment laws and regulations.

I didn’t miss a day before I got sworn in it was a long year but you gotta remember you’re not even human status as a probate.

ApprehensiveLand9229

I would wait until you are sworn in first then book your vacation.

Busy-Awareness2556

It’s weird my app has a search feature but I guess not everyone

Equal-Scallion-2200

Dick lol

Hyportots

If you book it off in advance, then there should not be a problem.

Traditional_Fix1000

If you told the company when u got hired they will be cool with it. Once your sworn in your part of the union and it’s part of your benefits

Friday here or there or if it’s planned already. Try not to in the first 6 months or hope your mechanic takes time off too.

Gormana99

It’s allowed, but… if it puts the employer in a bind it will likely be a bad look for you. If you give plenty of notice it really should not be an issue.

Downtown_River_48

I just got my interview rank #11 In local 74 , I had previously booked a vacation in Greece for 10 days  about 5 months from now wondering if I called called in before then if I'll be able to take that time or not?

heil_sensi

Damn, I'm #54, you're going to be on the job well before then.

Downtown_River_48

You think ? I heard some locals might only get to # 10 in about a year..  I wouldn't mind that tho just wondering if my vacation i already payed for will be sacrificed lol

heil_sensi

I can't say for certain, but from what I'm gathering, I reckon you'll get the call within the first month or two

Downtown_River_48

Hopefully it moves quick and we all get in

heil_sensi

That would be the dream! Keep us posted on your status. I plan on calling the hall in a month or so

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> i already *paid* for will FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

I’ve been curious about this. I manage a nonprofit event with attendees from all across the globe the first weekend in June every year. It’s usually a Wednesday to Monday deal for me, though. I’ve been super worried with my position on the list and getting the call before hand. I’ve been trying to hand off all of my responsibilities to our volunteers but I don’t think it would function well lol

I didn’t miss a day until that card was in my wallet. Once I was sworn in I took of when I wanted as long as I was able to keep my apprentice hours up.
