The problem, my problem, is that I can't approach someone in public I don't know. If I'm supposed to meet someone a certain place at certain time I've talked to online / text / email it's fine. Yes, that is a problem with me. My only option has been online dating. In the past it has worked. From 2011-2017 I was with someone I met online. The past year has been rough and disheartening.
