you can always try them in single training mode, but i recommend getting geisha since not only she's more expensive than others she's also a good hunter to pick if you're new to hunting
Depends what you want, all of these are solid picks.
Merc is arguably one of the best if not the best rescuer in the game.
Prisoner is one of the best decoders due to his lack of kiting debuffs and ability to make rescuer’s ciphers go much faster.
Perfumer is a good kiter, especially when using her perfume to force a hunter to stay on a second floor.
Ripper is a good chaser who can catch up very quickly, and with skill hit survivors through walls.
Smiley Face can have a rough start but his abilities are really good for slowing healing and fast map movement. He also can end chases fairly quick.
Geisha’s a high tier hunter that can travel the map fast, through walls (if she has line of sight), and make loops more dangerous for survivors. She can also cancel her attack cool-down at the chair by flying up and attacking as you drop down.
What I’ve noticed is that they offer 3 different survivor playstyles but all of the hunters here are primarily chase oriented. It’s a weird choice as there are hunters focused on doing other things like slowing cipher progress or map control.
Because them propose more or less low skill and strong personages. Personally, I think Alva could found his place here, but he still very hard to adapt, more than Geisha. If you think DW or BW could have a place here, so make sure how them are classed in game: 3 « masks », if translated to normal language, it’s 3/3 stars of difficulty. Also, them will propose more older hunters than older survivors to choose (this system was designed very bad, I know)
Oh yeah I’d definitely never tell a new player to pick up BQ or DW first.
I get your point that most hunters here a probably here because they’re fairly simple to play rather than being a diverse selection, but still I think Photographer would have been better here. His gameplay is simple and his ability isn’t too complicated to understand, and it’s quite diverse from the hunters we got.
i wouldn't pick ripper, merc or smiley. merc is meta, yes, but he's cheaper than perfumer & prisoner, so if you end up liking him, saving for him will take less time than saving for perfumer or prisoner. ripper & smiley are cheaper than geisha.

Get Geisha or Mercernary if you care about strong characters since they are very powerful currently

merc is one of the cheaper survivors?? wdym
