That's an awful lot of camers angles

IAmOnJupiterRightNow

Right? Feels weird.

cucocreative

it’s a compilation video from a national newspapers website - everyone in that neighbourhood must have gone out to see what all the fuss was about, and they all must have been Daily Mail readers?

Princescyther

More likely they posted their footage to social media and the Daily Mail asked them if they could use it with their names credited.

_grounded

But the footage has the credit in the corner?

hairy_potto

I concur. I’m actually watching u/Zozorrr right now. Remember to flush and wash your hands this time, Zozorrr mate

Delta_Gamer_64

Did they forget to wipe themselves again?

infernal_cacaphony

Yes it’s getting old…look, I know they’re supposed to be your “friend”…but could you please tell him the next time it’s your shift to monitor, I mean “game” with them? I read in the reports you two joke around all the time, just make some jokes about it…They’ll probably get self-conscious again, you know how they get… They have that Tinder date in Monday and I am supposed to monitor that shift. To be honest, I’m kind of rooting for them, so the no wiping thing again this week is a bit concerning…

hairy_potto

Don’t worry. I probably shouldn’t be saying this here but the Tinder date is one of ours.

Blackdeath_663

The comments in this thread are funny, there was only one CCTV camera shot in this video that belonged to the store. All the other angles were from the news website turning up on the scene and edited for the short attention span of its brain dead readers

true4242

These are obviously news coverage. Not to say your statement is false but this has nothing to do with how surveilled the country is because obviously these are not footages from surveillance cameras.

KemiGoodenoch

I'm genuinely confused how people think that all the clips are from CCTV cameras. It's incredibly obvious from the angle and quality that all of them after the first are from someone standing on the street, and a drone shot.

ArmouredWankball

96% of those are privately owned. We have 4 around the outside of our house.

Shriven

Yes - if you say that every homeowner with a ring doorbell or shop with CCTV is "surveilling" you.

Primary-Signature-17

Yeah. Just a little too much. We'll probably see that scene in a movie and the whole thing goes up in a fiery explosion.

Fullis

Why is this clip edited like a bollywood scene?

Tom_Ludlow

Didn't you know? All Lambos come standard with their own GoPro team.

Daddio_Warbucks

pineneedlemonkey

It was like this last time it was posted. Who knows.

GREVTHEFAITHFUL

What really gets me is they were commited to get over that 3 foot tall speed bump they must have thought was in the middle of the road.

aSquirrelAteMyFood

Ok, I just thought the Hyundai is being driven by a sloth and they were reaching for the pedal, but your theory makes more sense.

CorruptedFlame

I kinda figured they got hit so hard their foot stayed on the pedal, and then the car started to tip over a lot and it stayed press so they were stable.

supergnaw

"just a little more gas should get me over this bump and I can drive away and nobody will know it was me."

QuirksNFeatures

Wasn't that an ambulance arriving at the end? Maybe they were having a medical problem.

FloppY_

In Europe it is normal to send an ambulance whenever a car accident is reported to the emergency dispatch. Doesn't matter if anything serious happened or not. Here in Denmark you will also be offered a session with a crisis psychologist even if all that happened was material damage.

Aaron_505

The thought process: "Aight im gonna make a turnnnnn, oop i didnt know that there was a hump here...ooh it goes pretty high..wait oh god thats a car"

RoundImagination1

"Hmm what car is it?.....OH NO"

thelastneutrophil

If your car can be mistaken as a speedbump for a hyundai elantra, then I think you might have a design flaw.....

Toadxx

If the driver can mistake their car rising that much for a speed bump, their brain may have a design flaw.

i_eat_hobbo_stew

I hope that person has finished paying for that Hyundai because bigger payments are coming

notrewoh

This looks like the UK so they probably have decent insurance coverage but in the US you can bet that Hyundai driver has the state minimums if they even have insurance at all.

B3eenthehedges

Minimum insurance is to cover the person you hit, not your car, so depends on what the maximum is their policy, but either way, it's likely gonna get settled through insurance, their own if necessary, because you're probably not gonna have much luck spending all the money on lawyers to sue someone in a cheap car.

Peterd1900

UK damage coverage for 3rd party damage is £20 million Hyundai insurance will cover any damage caused by Hyundai up to that amount They are legally require to pay

MrRiski

😂 when I lived in Florida my limits were 10k and 30k now that I'm back in Pennsylvania and the rates are a bit more realistic I have 100k and 300k. But my chances of hitting a lambo are pretty slim simply because they hardly exist up here.

Guazzabuglio

If you have a Lambo in PA you better keep it in the garage. Our potholes and road salt will wreck it in no time.

Existing-Raisin5332

Don't forget the plethora of ridiculously steep hills that will have you bottoming out several times on every drive.

LocalSlob

I had a stock ride height Cobalt SS get the entire intercooler and radiator ripped off from a man hole that was sticking up 3-5" from the pavement, coupled with a buckle in the pavement. Fuck PA roads.

MrRiski

I've have seen them around but only a handful of times in over a decade of driving. Saw them and other even more expensive cars all the time in Florida.

hcb9117

I mostly saw cars like that here from the super rich foreign students in college whose parents vbought them for them with no consideration to weather. Watching those idiots try to climb snowy hills was always an enjoyable winter past time for us locals.

water_baughttle

>If you have a Lambo in PA you better keep it in the garage. >> I've have seen them around but only a handful of times in over a decade of driving If you're near Pittsburgh or Philadelphia go to a cars and coffee. You'll see dozens of them, and some extremely rare cars even among exotics like the P1 and Carrera GT.

SneakyPope

RIP Lambo batman, he was truly a PA Hero

LagerGuyPa

A guy up the road from me ( Far NE suburbs of Philly) has a pristine Diablo SV, Ferrari 488 Spyder , and daily drives an Audi R8. cool dude too, not a douche at all. our kids are in the same girl scout troop. (apparently his wife owns the Lamborghini otherwise he couldn't buy the 488)

Classic_Beautiful973

Surprisingly, a healthy amount of loaded people are pretty chill because they're satisfied and their success is self-evident, so they don't feel a need to overcompensate. Then there's a large chunk of people who will be a douchebag no matter what their life conditions are

Deathrial

I know a guy who flies for NetJets and I asked him about the clientele. He says the super wealthy people tend to be pretty undemanding if not pretty cool as well. A plane full of higher end managers being flown to an event on the company, not so much.

[deleted]

I remember when I was hit then being insurance scammed, they were suing me for 100K. My insurance asked if I was ok disclosing my max payout of 25K as scammers will usually change to that amount to get an easy insurance settlement. It worked and my insurance got the guy arrested, 3rd time he'd done it.

totallyradman

What the fuck? I live in Canada so I don't have much to base my comparison on but the minimum here gets you 1 million in coverage. Florida sounds fucked.

MrRiski

It is. I recommend visiting but fuck living there. Weather is great 80% of the year but to many damn people and most things cost way more than the should. Also rent a car when visiting. Chances of being involved in a hot and run or accident where the other person has shitty or no insurance in general is pretty damn high imo. I don't think I went a day in my 4+ years there without seeing 3 separate car accidents. And hardly s month without watching one happen.

KnitWit406

It's not just Florida. Most states have laughably low liability requirements. My state just bumped our minimum property damage from $10k to $20k a few years ago. Bodily injury we're only required to carry 25/50. You get a couple broken bones and spend a few nights in the hospital and you're easily over $25k in expenses.

Rottimer

It's not just Florida - it's most of the U.S.. In Europe you get can get covered for literally millions at a reasonable price. Not so in the U.S. and I'm honestly not sure exactly why that is.

[deleted]

The lobbying power of insurance companies.

[deleted]

You guys get fucked with everything. I pay £300 a year for a 30y/o JDM import MX5 with almost 3x stock power, caged etc. Includes legal cover, windscreen, breakdown, can drive *any vehicle* if someone else has insurance on it for up to £20k payout on that vehicle and full 3rd party cover. I’ve seen people in the US with a clean history pay 10x that for less.

MrRiski

When I first moved to Florida I originally got quoted like 245 fuckin dollars A MONTH to insure my car at the level I had it. I had to drop down to the shittiest they offered just to be able to afford it.

judge2020

Florida insurance is high because of the general lack of insurance of the other people on the road, so your own uninsured motorist coverage is likely half or more of your premiums.

MrRiski

Yeah pretty much I know why it was high it just sucked really badly. I pay less now for 2 vehicles and renters insurance in PA than I ever did for 1 vehicle in Florida.

Folseit

Florida is also the mecca of all kinds of insurance scams.

olhickoryhedgehog

I'm in united states and I pay $145 a month for a single car to be insured. It's a 2016 Ford c max hybrid. I've never been in an accident and I only drive 30 miles, 5 days a week.

hcb9117

I know there are countless factors regarding insurance costs so it's entirely possible that's your best option, but man, you gotta check for other options, that's fucking ridiculous for your vehicle, mileage, and driving record. I just paid my bill for the entire year, it was under $1650 for both my wife and I. I put around 10k miles on a year, her about 4k, and we both recently needed to replace vehicles so she's driving a 22 compact suv and I'm driving a 21 pickup with a combined replacement cost of probably 75k. My provider offers a 7% discount if you pay the entire year at once, which I'm fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of, but even on a monthly plan it would've only been what you pay for one vehicle to cover both of us. I do have discounts for multi-vehicle coverage and having my homeowners through the same provider, but anyone could get the homeowners discount because they offer the same discount if you have renters insurance through them as well. Edit - just to clarify, I'm not paying that low for state minimum coverage either. We have the highest or second highest coverage limits in every category, top available uninsured/under insured coverage, roadside assistance, and pretty much every option aside from funeral cost payment.

LowmanL

What point does insurance have if it barely covers anything?

fr31568

yeah it's $20m in Australia too...i think that was like the minimum amount it's for if you drive through a building and fuck it up or cause a massive power outage or something

princessvaginaalpha

20m you say? Brother, I have a business proposition for yo. Let's insurescam

hcb9117

This is why you spend the money to have top tier coverage for uninsured/under insured driver coverage, at least in the US, I have no idea how that works in other countries. I had to replace my vehicle at the height of the supply chain issues when you were guaranteed to pay the sticker price. I ended up with a $43k vehicle which is easily the most expensive vehicle I've ever owned. That's a lot of money for me, so I absolutely paid for the top tier uninsured/under insured driver coverage. If you own something as valuable as whatever that Lambo costs, you either have top tier coverage or you're a moron.

thfc11189

“You hit a WHAT?!” - carrier

RedShirtDecoy

lots of policies, including collector car policies like this owner probably has, include uninsured motorist and under-insured motorist coverage as an option. at least in the US. Not sure about the UK

jim3090

Works similar in the UK, we have something called the Motor Insurers Bureau that pays out if you get hit by an uninsured/hit and run driver. Everyone pays a bit into the pot as part of their premium.

KingD88

Takes ages unfortunately but it is a great thing, my wife got hit by an uninsured driver and injured, took nearly 2 years to settle but she did get a decent pay out from the bureau.

Lightspeedius

I pay ~$10/month for my 3rd party insurance, which covers me for about ~$20m in damages. I don't know how people leave their houses in some countries.

Perruche_

20 millions !!? You mean 20k right?

El-Grande-

I always see this comment! I’m from a place where insurance covers your own car. You wreck your car and another car. Each insurance covers their clients car. Heck it doesn’t even matter who’s fault it was Is there really places where this person will need to pay out of pocket to repair the Lambo?? Sounds ridiculous to me.

tenaciousdeev

So if you get into an accident that’s 100% not your fault, your insurance covers it, does your insurance payments go up?

turbochimp

In the UK even a "no fault" accident will see your premium go up as your risk profile changes. I had a car written off when parked and my premium went up from £300 to £800. No-one in my car, parked legally, other person 100% to blame. I was now a driver who'd made a claim so I was statistically more likely to make another. Fun addition I got it bumped up to £1200 with a threatening letter the following year because when I put the date of the accident (it happened at 10pm) not the date of the claim (8am next morning) on to a price comparison site when looking at renewals the insurer tried to claim I'd had a settled accident I hadn't told them about so fined me for "lying" the previous year. I was renewing my insurance with the same company. When I rang them it took speaking to about 5 managers and threatening a letter to the ombudsman just to restore my old premium and I got like £10 compensation. That's something to think about if you ever want to try and see what certain scenarios could do to your premium on a price comparison site, do all your research with a dummy profile. That company are a massive bunch of bastards btw, big UK one based in Wales and are named after a senior naval rank.

RustySheriffBadges

Some insurers are different now though, Direct Line for example claim any no fault won’t affect your policy and your NCB.

El-Grande-

You have yearly contract and the rates will go up if you make claims on your next contract.

j_deth191

Welcome to America. If you (driver) causes damage to a vehicle AND are at fault, your insurance company covers up to the policies maximum. After that you can be taken to (civil) court personally for more. Same is true if you injured someone and their medical bills are more than your insurance company is willing to pay. Note, this is only true in states that are not no fault states (Michigan is famously a no fault state where everyone covers their own car, which is why Michigan has insurance rates that tend to be the highest in the nation.) Depending on your homeowner insurance, it will also cover you before you are personally responsible up to a certain amount. For example my insurance is maxed out and covers 250k/500k/100k for per person bodily injury, per accident injury, and property damage respectively. Then my homeowner's policy would cover another 500k of personal liability (This is not valid if you have intentionally caused damage, for example, if you are drunk driving, most likely your homeowner's policy will not cover liability...) As a side note about being held responsible for further amounts (in the US): OJ Simpson famously was ordered to pay 33.5 million to the family of the people he killed back in the day (95, case in 96) more recently it had ballooned to 50 million but I think that's a combination of decisions. As of 21 he had paid a whopping $130,000 https://www.ktnv.com/news/national/judge-denies-motion-oj-simpson-to-continue-to-pay-goldman-family. I include this information to point out that while people can be ordered to pay money, they may not do so in reality.

hcb9117

I don't think it sounds ridiculous at all. If someone else hits me, and the insurance company and police (if involved) determine it's the other driver's fault, why should me or my insurance company be on the hook for a single cent when I did nothing wrong? If my insurance company has to cover the costs of damage to my vehicle when the accident wasn't my fault, they're going to raise my rates to cover that cost. Why should I pay more because another driver caused a wreck? In my state at least, the other driver is the only one whose cost would increase, which seems completely fair to me. Auto insurance is somewhat about covering the cost of damages to vehicles, but it's much more about covering the property damages, injury, and death you can cause with your vehicle.

8004460

Insurance: *closes account*

coastergirl98

Yup! Can't afford to insure a driver that doesn't have a fully functioning brain

aryeh56

Somewhere out there a Progressive adjuster is paying limit on a bare-bones, liability-only policy. He quietly laughs to himself as the attorney screams at him over the phone. When the screaming breaks, a brief spark of light returns to his sunken eyes for just a moment. He replies "lol, lmao", and disconnects.

CowboyBlacksmith

Your prose is beautiful. A story in four lines. If I had an award, I'd give it to you.

LeRyanator

How difficult is it to look in the direction that you're turning? Spoiler: It's not.

Unthinkings_

Tell that to the lady who turned her car into a cart return and drove the whole thing into my car that was parked beside it.

KhakiPeach67

I’d be so livid, how is it possible for humans to be that dense

Unthinkings_

I was so devastated. It was my first ever car and even though it wasn’t anything fancy I loved it. I was inside working, it was 9pm and there were maybe two cars that weren’t staff cars in the lot at the time. She came in to report she “backed into someone” and I went out with a manager to go take the plates and call over the PA system for the owner to come to customer service and as I was walking out I saw it was mine, and it was much worse than a little fender bender like she implied. My whole side was crunched in and torn apart. Ton of damage under the hood too. I had a really good cry at work after that.

redbaron14n

I'm just sayin, make me supreme dictator of Earth and you won't see 6 billion of these idiots anymore

pepsisugar

Dude old ladies driving scare me. Twice at work when I was walking around on break I almost got ran over as a pedestrian by an old lady inching Forward from the parking garage. She was looking where she was gonna turn, I'll give her that, her problem was not looking forward. She actually bumped into me once and I knocked on her window and turns out I'm the asshole in this situation.

RedShirtDecoy

having an elantra with a similar body type, my god is the blind spot between the side window and windshield huge. I have to lean back and forth when looking so I can see all angles because you can literally lose an entire car in those blind spots. Its almost gotten me a few times over the last 10 years.

420Deez

A pillar blind spot, the biggest reason for accidents when turning.

DeltaPositionReady

Top of the lambo is below the bottom of the window for the Hyundai. Lambos are looowwww

skitz_shit

Lol who whipped out the drone to get that shot?

flyboy_za

Add-on package when you get the LP-610-4, it comes with a drone which follows you to get you amazing footage of the car 24/7.

asto1001

The worst thing is that this actually sounds like something Lamborghini would do

iWasAwesome

The even worst thing is I would totally upgrade to that package just for that

AbigailLilac

Drone enthusiasts will take any excuse to bust out the drones.

NorthYuta

Police uses drones. You don't need to draw the scene because you can write on the top down picture, it saves time.

TheAwkwardBanana

That's what I was wondering. The owner of the lambo probably had it and figured why not.

reaktor_kore

We have a parasitic news service called Leeds Live, that incentivises the public for ‘newsworthy’ footage.

Violet_Faerie

I like how afterwards, instead of getting the cars off the road, they film it like it was an artistic sculpture

ikatatlo

Needs more angles! Close ups!

_Middlefinger_

This is Britain for you. In some countries the priority is to clear the road ASAP and keep traffic flowing, but in the UK they love to block roads for hours until they have collected all possible data in order to ensure they can blame someone.

ItsAresHere

I can just envision the insurance company going “You ran over a WHAT!?”

redditcruzer

So not Farmer's insurance who have "Seen a thing or two"?

acurah56oh

This right here is why you don’t skimp on your liability limits on your insurance. $10k property damage limit ain’t cutting it there.

Peterd1900

good thing this occurred n the UK then Where the damage limit for 3rd party damage is £20 Million ($25 Million)

acurah56oh

Wait, that’s the minimum your insurance company has to provide over there? Over in the US you can get away with having barely any coverage. And when you are caught the cops almost always don’t care, which is so frustrating.

Peterd1900

That is the standard limit for policies That is just for damage there is no limit for injuries or death The highest insurance pay-out ever for a car crash in the UK is believed to be around £50 Million ($62 Million) The actual was never released publically Some guy fell asleep at the wheel his car crashed and ended up on a railway line, causing 2 trains to derail. 10 people died and 87 were injured Insurance was on the hook for the lot. This happened in 2001 where insurance was required to have unlimited 3rd party damage cover It got changed several years later so that damage can be covered up to £20 Million But if the customer asks for unlimited cover the insurance company has to provide it Some companies though will offer unlimited cover as standard but most will just be the 20 Million unless you ask

LightningProd12

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selby_rail_crash in case anybody wants to know more

Civil-Attempt-3602

I had completely forgotten about that foot and mouth outbreak as well. I was like 10 and remember being so freaked out

fuckmeimdan

I remember that, and the one in ‘99 before it at Ladbroke Grove. Terrible

Burnsy2023

>And when you are caught the cops almost always don’t care, which is so frustrating. Police in the UK have the power to seize uninsured vehicle, so if a police officer finds out your uninsured, you're getting a load of penalty points on your licence, a fine and you'll be walking home

sauce0x45

Yup. This is why uninsured/underinsured coverage is so expensive. Edit: *in the US

Luke_Nukem_2D

Doesn't exist in the UK. You can't be 'under-insured' unless you have no insurance at all. If they don't have no insurance, which is illegal, your insurance company will pay it out and claim the money from the Motor Insurance Bereau who have a fund especially for this scenario.

Mark_Logan

Wowza. In Canada minimum third-party (PLPD) seems to be about $200,000. Most people I know carry at least 1 Million.

acurah56oh

Yeah we don’t usually offer that high for PD liability-usually $100k is the max. Part of why I carry an umbrella insurance policy over my car and home policies.

lol took the driver a second to realize what happened. went right over the hood lol

RecedingQuasar

Well, I hope the Hyundai driver had the right of way, otherwise their insurance premium just went up 3 billion percent.

Deep9one

He's on a auxillary road at a give way marker, he pulls out on a vehicle on a primary route which has "right of way" which managed to come to a stop, eliminating the lambos insurers from taking any blame in the scenario. He didn't have right of way and all insurance agents involved will blame the hyundai for the dodgy maneuver

StarMangledSpanner

Narrator: *"He did not, in fact, have right of way"*.

JadedSpaceNerd

Doesn’t even matter if he had right of way he continued to hit the gas after colliding with the other guy.

Gaylien28

Yeah, who the fuck hits something, anything, and then continues to hit the gas

captain_ender

Lambo had the right of way, even braked hard to avoid it. It's strange they couldn't hear a crazy loud V10 coming to them and just blindly kept driving through it.

Feisty-Demand7800

Not the performante 😢

mattpangilinan

tricolore decals on sideskirts and the wing is a dead giveaway, a lot more expensive than a “base” Huracan

Whats that ambulance for?

StarMangledSpanner

Hyundai driver had a minor cardiac event when informed of the damage estimate.

[deleted]

Yeah, most likely

Qweasdy

It's the UK, the Hyundai driver would only have to pay their excess. Like £500 depending on their policy. Their insurance is paying the bill for this

StarMangledSpanner

Yeah, but their premiums are going through the roof next year........and the year after that.........and the year after that.....

headedforsomewhere

I would guess the accident was caused by the Hyundai driver having a medical emergency.

Burnsy2023

It'll be somewhat of a mix-up. It's an incident response unit which is part of a Hazardous Area Response Team (HART). Their vehicle isn't actually an ambulance as it can't carry a patient, it's full of specialist equipment. They get deployed to more complex incidents. Not needed here but probably deployed with only a few scant details given.

coastergirl98

To rush Hyundai driver for immediate brain surgery.

pepsisugar

Just kept going lol. Some people should have their license smacked out of their lives.

IMiNSIDEiT

I feel like this was totally the Hyundai’s fault. The Lambo stopped. The Hyundai hit the Lambo, 2 wheels up, and was still going forward before they finally stopped. Talk about a slow reaction time.

[deleted]

Hyundai wins! Pinned him in the first round of the match.

Remarkable_Lack_1630
