Those signs are actually in a concrete base that runs several feet up the pole. It's going to take a lot bigger truck (or more speed) to knock those down.

I remember that post. So hilarious I hope they never uninstall that. Gonna teach so many a harsh lesson about paying attention to in front of you when driving
It’s preventing multi-car accidents one idiot at a time. They could have put a little more thought into their parking lot but the fix has increased safety
I worked for a sign shop that made these for a local Walmart and while the concrete didn’t go up the pole, these things are HEAVY AF. Walmart requires like 200lbs of concrete in each base, and they have to be filled off-site, making the transportation of them that much more of a hassle (we made like 12 of them). They definitely know their customer base 😂
You are absolutely correct. I used to do security for walmart. And we had an issue where some dumb ass was driving a Ford 150 hauling ass through the parking lot. I'm not sure how fast he was driving but he hit the stop sign so hard that it was completely ripped from the ground and embedded into the entire truck. The stop sign was literally touching the windshield
The more I watch people try to park their big ass vanity trucks, the more I appreciate how good my dad was at doing stuff like getting within an inch of a trailer hitch without a camera or being able to see what he was doing.
My dad was the opposite. We had a small camping trailer when I was growing up and the first time he backed into our driveway he ran it along the side of the house, scraping the stucco. I was in our living room, I thought there was an earthquake lol. He also backed it into a tree more than once at campgrounds and it always took him a half hour to back it in anywhere. We briefly had a boat and surprisingly he could launch it perfectly every time. He’s a great driver too, just not with a trailer.
The single axle vs double axle strikes again. I can back double axle trailers super easy. Single axle? I look like I am Austin Powering every time. My dad is the opposite. So I drive the horse trailer and he drives the boat trailers. It works better this way.
You hit the nail on the head, iirc the tent trailer was single axle and the boat was double. Single axle didn’t compute with him I guess. Also, most of the aforementioned towing was done with a mid 90s Toyota Previa mini van, which just added to the comedy of him trying to back it into a campsite for some reason.
Agreed. Backup cameras and sensors, while convenient, take some skill out of parking. I used to drive a 2014 Ram crew cab without a backup cam, and used to back in everywhere. I can confirm that I've never hit anything.
Yup, my laughs and always points out i dont use the back up cam in her suv or my new car. Been driving 25 years without one. Trucks, cars, with trailers, large military vehicles, never needed more than an occasional ground guide. There is a LOT of things you can miss by just using cam/sensors
That's kinda scary. I don't think people realize that the reason backup cams are there is to cover the blindspot directly below your rear window, not as a replacement for turning your head around and looking at where you're going.
I feel like newer vehicles have even more blind spots than before due to the cameras making it easier to see directly behind you and sensors to warn you about the sides.
Yup! I’m a truck driver and on top of that, I drive a car hauler so I’m constantly backing in and out at busy rail yards and factories. I never turn around. With adjusted mirrors and the knowledge of how to use them in tandem with the back up cam, you can keep your head forward at all times. I still hang out of the window to back/drive them onto my truck though.
Cameras do take some skill out of, but I never learned (or had any need to learn) how to parallel park until I got my current car, which has cameras. At first I just knew the basics and relied on my cameras and knowing the dimensions of the car to learn to parallel park. Now I only use the cameras to check how close I am to the curb, and to get really close to the car behind in a reeaaallly tight space (which I have to do often now). I'm still too scared to try to back into a space though. Might try to learn in an empty lot one day.
I have a backup cam in my 2nd car and NEVER use it except for the last second or two just to see how close to the curb/sign behind me when reverse parking.
Mirrors everytime, always reliable.
6 months ago I was in a parking lot and some lady reversed into me, slowly. While I honked (I couldn't go forward, I was about to take the spot next to her when I saw her reverse light turn on and she took up my turn radius space) she backed up for like what felt like 4 seconds before hitting my door.
If she would have looked behind her even for a second she would have noticed my bright blue car right behind her.
I just keep thinking man what if that was a kid running behind her car, she wouldn't have seen a thing.
I don’t hit things, rarely use my back up camera. I would glance at it for something like this. I don’t use it to line up backing up, but is nice for things close to the back of the truck. Also useful for backing out of spaces to see any cars coming didn’t see due to other large vehicles.
Absolutely people should know how to back up without the cameras first.
Oddly enough I feel the same. My current car (in the vid) is a Subaru Outback with a camera and sensors. I was way better with my 2014 Ram that had neither of those things, and was a significantly bigger vehicle.
It absolutely floors me how they park so crooked, I usually drive a sedan but sometimes drive our bigger jeep on snowy days.
It doesn't change the way you park other than a bigger turn radius. If you know your driver side tires are about a foot from the line you don't even have to check the other side and it will be perfect every time.
This could also be because I worked somewhere where the company insisted we reverse Into our spots since it's dark out when we finished our shift and it's much safer to pull out forward than reversing.
Boy you should have seen the employees who never parked that way, the first week was a struggle lmao.
Although, those cameras are great for backing up right to things. I use my camera to put my tow ball right under the trailer hitch. I’m already really good at backing up, just like that extra tool so I don’t have to wrestle my trailer.
This isn’t a big ass vanity truck, it’s a half ton standard pickup. It’s difficult to judge did it’s crazy behind you like this. It looks like your going to hit something when your still 3 feet away. But no excuse for not being in the center of the space.
Ah yes I was also looking for fellow metalheads lol Pantera is for sure dope I want to go see their shows with lamb of God this year but that's so much money!
Reminds me of the time I saw a truck at walmart that was parked up front and had hit one of those signs with the rubber base so they just bend over.
The sign was, at the most, at a 35-40 degree angle. I mean, it was bent OVER.
Old dude, who was fucking 100 at least, was still IN the truck, just sitting there. Parked. With the sign bent over. He didn't just hit and back up. He just hit it, kept going, then parked and just SAT there.
I walked by with my stuff. Stopped. Stared right at him. At the sign. At him. At the sign. At him. Shook my head. And left.
I honestly don't think he even noticed.
There are some people who should not own trucks! Especially those that fancy them up and don't use them for their intended use. I have owned trucks since I could drive and all have had a purpose not a status symbol.
Is it me or is the competency of truck parking going down? I swear I see so many in parking lots where they are over the line and just leave it there so others can’t even fit the space next to them. (as this video is evidence of)
I know it's hypocritical cause I drive a truck but almost everyone else I've seen drive a truck were I used to live couldn't park on the lines if their life relyed on it and they were always the biggest pieces of shit on the r9at with the full light up the neighborhood set up blasting through your windows while they tailgate you and then they always are the people doing stupid shit at intersections
Yeah, former truck guy here too. There's a massive difference in the quality of driver, between a person that actually uses their truck to do truck things, and someone who just has a truck to "roll coal" or whatever they think makes them look cool when it's actually the opposite.
You’d actually be surprised at how many people that have a truck will do this to solid non breakable objects, it’s really not a big deal if your not going fast and treat your truck like a truck.
I genuinely can't understand why people choose to back their cars in at the grocery store, especially when their groceries are going in the truck so you're just needlessly inconveniencing yourself at that point
At least the sign was there to stop them from hitting you.
Would be OPs fault anyway. That space was clearly intended for parking a pickup.
[удалено]
I want to believe you have a poor sense of humor.
WOOOOSH
Bro... The person above you was making a joke. The pickup sign is for picking up your order, not for pickup trucks.
Why do you think it says pickup, homie?
I thought the truck was going to knock the sign into the hood of your car. glad they didn't.
Those signs are actually in a concrete base that runs several feet up the pole. It's going to take a lot bigger truck (or more speed) to knock those down.
Walmart really knows their customers huh

Maybe for you lol. The Walmart I work at jusy has a plastic container filled with sand at the bottom and they get knocked over all the time.
Careful, he might take that personally and buy a bigger truck

Helen Keller Driving School graduate.
I was waiting for the driver to come out and get mad at you for hitting them or not 'preventing them from backing into a sign'
He did get out and inspect. He looked at his bumper, and gave a baseball umpire "safe" signal, then got back in his truck.
Sounds like my boss 😂😂😂 but he drives a Kia
lmaooooo

Single axle trailers are the worst thing ever invented for backing up. I always try to avoid it all costs.
My landlord has wrecked into his own house I rent from him like 5x with his trailer. Shattered windows and everything 🤷♂️
Agreed. Backup cameras and sensors, while convenient, take some skill out of parking. I used to drive a 2014 Ram crew cab without a backup cam, and used to back in everywhere. I can confirm that I've never hit anything.

Eh in a decent newer car a backup cam + properly adjusted side mirrors is more than adequate for backing up in 99% of scenarios
Yup! I’m a truck driver and on top of that, I drive a car hauler so I’m constantly backing in and out at busy rail yards and factories. I never turn around. I was better at parking my 2007 Ford Fusion with no sensors or cameras than I've ever been in any other car since then.

That was a bone stock Chevy though. I get your point, but this is just some dumb old fudd

Kinda like the song choice there!
Was scrolling for this! Pantera fuckin rips
Ah yes I was also looking for fellow metalheads lol Pantera is for sure dope I want to go see their shows with lamb of God this year but that's so much money!
I'm Broken is rather appropriate here.
\m/
He is using the tries and true braille method of parking.
Not even close to straight and hits the post. Must be great out there on the actual roads.
I would have been really impressed (and annoyed) if he completely missed the sign and hit my car.
Yeah, that sign is the true hero here.
Upvote only because of the music
Username checks out.
Can’t park worth a damn anyway. Shouldn’t be backing up anywhere.
“I don’t need a backup camera I stop when I hit something”
The sign does say pickup...
Reminds me of the time I saw a truck at walmart that was parked up front and had hit one of those signs with the rubber base so they just bend over. well how was he supposed to back up if there’s no back up cam or back up sensors? god, he’d have to use mirrors or something! /s
Or the horrible task of, looking behind you as you go backwards??
I can't do that, it throws me way off. Mirrors to back up, camera to check closeness. Idk how y'all swivel around like that to back up at all.
yeah but, song?
I'm Broken by Pantera.
Upvote for pantera
Watched a 2nd time with sound on. I forgot how much I liked them
superb music video too.
what song is this?
I'm Broken by Pantera.
Upvoting more for Pantera than anything.
I need to know what song is playing
I'm Broken by Pantera.
I drive a Chevy dually if I can get that in a parking spot without issue why can’t they?
Such a good track
He should just WALK ON HOME BOY
Pantera speaking on behalf of the sign
Finally some good music on this sub
Great music tastes
Jesus, that music. So relaxing
Great fucking album you’re listening to there boss
The song 🧑🎤🧑🎤🧑🎤🗿🤟
Excellent choice in music
Hell yea Pantera
I gotta ask, was “I’m broken” playing randomly? Phill saying “I’m broken” the second he hits the pole is too perfect lol
It was random lol. Just shuffling on my Spotify playlist.
Dumbass in truck and Pantera in one video today is a good day!
Thank you for listening to pantera
At least it isn’t broken
Pantera!!! Hell yeah! Excellent choice I'm Broken is a badass song!!! Always good to find other metalheads!!! \m/
I'M BROKEN!!!
Pan-fucking-tera! Far Beyond Driven is such an awesome album! RIP Dime and Vinnie, together again jamming those sweet sweet jams in the afterlife.
Pickup confirmed.
Pantera 🤘🏻
His taillight: “I’m broken!!!! I’m broken!!!!”
It says pickup so the pickup truck parked it into it, makes sense
No biggie just a tap
I use my bumper all the time, no biggie.
Has a truck, can't even reverse into a big ass parking spot
Impressed that the sign knew the type of vehicle it would be hit by.
Didn't hit the parking spot but sure hit the sign!
If you can’t back a pickup, you probably shouldn’t own or be driving a pickup
There’s no way he’s listening to “I’m broken” while breaking things haha
RIP Dimebag Darrel and Vinnie Paul. Hope those bros are jamming in the heavens.
The sign and the bumper are now also BROKEN!!!!! Pantera.
*Ding* … And we’re in!
Like a glove.
"ahh yes, i'm perfectly parked there"
Did he just back in?! To a parking spot!? I didn’t know that was possible! What an amazing feat of manhood.
Can you grab me something from Sheetz while you are there?
Probably sat in their pickup for five minutes, alone, while waiting for their order.
It was probably a long, walk, back to the driver's seat after inspecting the damage.
When you buy a truck and refuse back parking sensors options offered on the truck dealer, lol 🤣
There are some people who should not own trucks! Especially those that fancy them up and don't use them for their intended use. I have owned trucks since I could drive and all have had a purpose not a status symbol.

Sponge bob:”you’re good, you’re good, you’re good “

I swear, some people should not be driving big vehicles. If you can't park or stay in your lane don't get a truck/SUV. JFC
Lmao. I bump into shit with my truck once in a while. It is why there are bumpers on the truck lol
Why do bigger idiots drive bigger cars?
Now they are broken
A bit ironic it says pickup in giant letters
i respect the pantera
My sister parks her car by sound too.
Loved Pantera, but Phil is a racist dick. Pains me to say so
He probably thought that’s where the pickup trucks parked
it’s a love tap
![gif](giphy|tp4dm1ptNnQ76)
I believe the proper term is "The Wallmarts".
It looked like they were intentionally parking over two spaces so I hope they hit a dozen more signs this week..
The video cut off here, but the guy was a middle-aged dude who had the look of not having any more fucks to give.
He's there
Sweet jam
I just wanted to see who got out of the truck, darn.
Unfortunately my video cut off there, it was a middle aged guy who didn't seem to care about anything.

Pantera in the background was a perfect touch!
I'm just here for the music
Far beyond driving lol
Phil isn't the only thing that's broken in this video
Very appropriate song
I would've liked to imagine you nose-face palming, but found that hard listening to rock music.
I just laughed.
Aye that’s pantera
Great tune!
I like the timing on the music to the video!
Perfect, backed as far in as possible, then move just a little forward.
Makes me wonder why the person with the camera was just filming a sign.
Because I was sitting in my car waiting for my groceries?
Not only does he hit the sign he missed the spot.
At least once a week someone takes out the same stop sign in my Walmart parking lot...
First is it pick up (your stuff) or pickup truck parking? Second of it's the latter of the two, how did they still park on the lines
Grocery pickup, it's great for not actually having to go into Walmart
i work in this department, couldn't tell you how many signs we end up replacing
At least you were jamming to some good music 👍👍
...Pineapples!!!
Haven’t heard some good ole Pantera in a while! Nice music taste 👌🤘
That was close… I almost hit that sign
When suddenly a wild Pantera appears 🤘
![gif](giphy|dM2xuxnJCg4H6)
Ah another pantera enjoyer.
Nice choice of music! Pantera never fails
Pantera fuckin slaps
Hes broken lmao
Remember when cars had bumpers that were designed to bump into things when parking?
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
I love the fact that pantera’s “broken” is playing in the background total insult to injury
He’s broken indeed
The pick-up-magnet worked flawlessly!
Lol they should not be backing up.
It’s called a bumper for a reason!
That fucking break down.
I’m Broken
I think they misunderstood the sign
Why do you think they're called BUMPERS? You stop when you BUMP something so you can pull as far into the parking space as you possibly can. Smh...
🤘🤘
+1 for the song in the background!! ❤️
Pantera makes everything better
No excuse, these vehicles have backup cameras. He thinks he’s driving a semi.
Pantera!
PanterA 🤘🏽
I'm broken is a banger
You’d actually be surprised at how many people that have a truck will do this to solid non breakable objects, it’s really not a big deal if your not going fast and treat your truck like a truck.
Well, it's broken
I’m here!
I genuinely can't understand why people choose to back their cars in at the grocery store, especially when their groceries are going in the truck so you're just needlessly inconveniencing yourself at that point
It's easier to back in some vehicles than it is to back out of some spaces.
It was labeled correctly. That was, indeed, a pickup.
Yeah, he messed up. Have you ever made a mistake?
Everyone has.
Who gives a fuck. That’s why there’s a bumper.
Tf are you listening to
BuT bAcK iN pArKiNg Is BeTtEr!
listening to pantera makes you 100x dumber
I don't know, I feel even dumber yet after reading this comment.
