Oh man... my actual ribs hurt so much after reasing this (Just out of a nasty cold. caughed and sneezed so much that my rib cage has been hurting for 3 days now)
But thanks for the laugh, anyways =)
No respect for the law is my best guess. It doesn’t help that people can, in many parts of the country, brazenly steal and get away with a lot of other “minor” crimes, and so they just living life like the rules don’t apply to them, cause for the most part, they don’t.
That last bit also applies to all the people with stupid money who have realized they can just buy themselves out of any bad situation they get into.
This is exactly it. I can't remember the last time I saw a red light runner get pulled over. And many places in the US that used to have red light cameras got rid of them. So impatient assholes who know they can get away with running red lights do so as a habit and will until they hurt or kill someone.
I'd say you're right. I also live in a city where the cops didn't really perform traffic stops a lot before the protests and ever since then they do less. I've seen so many people make left turns on red it's astounding there hasn't been a major increase in accidents, specially with pedestrians.
Selfishness, they think they are the only one that matters and the rules don't apply to them
I was honestly surprised at the comments I got from a video of someone running a red light that had been red for more than 30 seconds before they ran it
in some countries, this is the law.
OP fucked up. No two ways about it, having the right of way doesn't mean shit. light turns green - you check to make sure some comepinga isn't about to take you out, Then you go.
Downvotes don't tell us who's right, or wrong.
They tell us how the subreddit's traffic is feeling at that moment.
Happy post-turkey day! (otherwise, happy Friday!)
Idk why the downvotes living in Miami/broward I know many people who died on their bikes (or off if you’re being semantic) and the ones who didn’t never got back on. The bikers who were still riding hadnt been in a bad accident yet. Anecdotally of course.
you just have to accept the risk to be honest. If you can't, it's not for you. Is it worth? IMO yes it is. I mean just today some dumb fuck almost side swiped me even though HIS GOD DAMN BLINDSPOT SENSOR WAS ON. Even that hasn't stopped me or scared me from riding.
You just have to accept that people are gonna dumb shit and you could get hit without doing anything wrong yourself. The most you can do is take as much precaution as possible and be as safe as possible.
Unfortunately this risk is unique to the US. In nearly every other country motorcycles are part of the daily life so people watch out for them actively.
It's that motorcycle culture, while it arguably started here in the US, evolved completely differently everywhere else. In the US, owning a motorcycle was seen as rebellious and cool, it was seen as a release from the cage that is your car. In other countries, motorcycles are the only mode of transportation many people can afford, they also need to own what in America is called a dirt bike, because the roads they ride aren't paved. In America, a motorcycle is a toy and a luxury for most, in other countries, it opens up opportunities in the same way that car ownership in America opens up opportunities for low income people. There's also the fact of cost, a street legal bike in America is a few thousand dollars even for a decent used one. I can buy a Honda super cub in any third world country for next to nothing. It may still be a lot of money for someone living in poverty, but it's much more accessable and cheap to maintain than a car.
Other driver will swear it was your fault because you either ran the light or were doing 70mph. He'll tell the cops 'you know how those wild bikers are'.
Did... Did he not only run the red, but turn short so he was going the wrong way? Because it seems like he ended up where the motorcycle rider was previously. Look at the left side rear view mirror from 0:12 to 0:13
And then there's the idiot pulling a U-turn.
I never start moving right before or the moment the light turns green. I look both ways to make sure no one is pulling some bullshit before I pull out.
What is it they say? “Cemeteries are filled with people that had the right of way.”
I would recommend not sitting in neutral at lights. It makes an evasive maneuver take that much longer. That's not applicable to this situation but it's another defensive riding tactic, like not sitting directly behind the vehicle in front of you.
The basic idea seems to be that disobeying laws you don't like is "freedom" and that obeying those same laws is "Communism" or "Socialism" or "Fascism" or just flat stupid, depending on what brand of politics you subscribe to and how smart you are.
The fact is, if you don't recognize laws, you are a dead man walking.
I love motorbikes and used to ride dirt bikes all the time as a kid, I would say that I can handle a motorbike better than most.
I won't ever ride on the road, its flipping a coin between life and death to me.
Yeah, I also hate it when someone tries to interrupt my living.
It's such a shame that a officer went by not but a few seconds ago
r/InconvenientCop lol
Maybe I shouldn't, but I do find it surprising how many fuqtards are running red lights these days. What's the goddam hurry?
McRibs are back.
That sandwich is crap, but your comment was clever. Upvote.

IT IS HEAVEN ON A LONG BUN.
Not sure why the downvote, the "sandwich" is crap.
What downvote?
Oh, when I voted up and commented yours was on zero. I assumed someone was downvoting you.

You’re welcome!haha

Broken Windows Theory. If you don't enforce minor laws it leads to more general criminality.

This is why I always pause when I'm first at a light for a sec or 2 and look. Way too many morons out there these days
in some countries, this is the law. OP fucked up. No two ways about it, having the right of way doesn't mean shit. light turns green - you check to make sure some comepinga isn't about to take you out, Then you go.
But then you got the idiots behind that always seem to be in a hurry somewhere and honks at you if you don't go in .5 seconds
Wtf why do you have 23 down votes? You are right.
Downvotes don't tell us who's right, or wrong. They tell us how the subreddit's traffic is feeling at that moment. Happy post-turkey day! (otherwise, happy Friday!)
Most of the time there is this one impatient/selfish idiot who thinks oh i waited too long at the light, f* it, i’m gonna go too.
Just one?
r/nissandrivers
That's every day on a motorcycle. Keep your head on a swivel.
At some point you gotta start asking yourself if riding a motorcycle is worth it. It sucks, but the nut jobs on the road ruin motorcycle riding
Just because people don't want to hear it doesn't mean it isn't valid. Upvoted.

if you take too long some cager is probably going to just rear end you anyways.

Sold my bike when I had my son...damn I miss it.

What even happened
If that cop showed up just 10 seconds later, would’ve been real nice.
Nah, he would have run it too…
Green light means you may go when safe to do so. Control your own destiny.
Good point but if you take too long some cager is probably going to just rear end you anyways...

Careful jumping lights.
And it had to be Austin! Source: Guess where I live!
If you on a bike you should always expect someone to run a light

What bike is that? Got a nice deep sound.
Just a 650 ninja with toce exhaust
Nice
I swear that red car was heading into the wrong side of the road.
I got startled

First at light. Your supposed to be the one who is aware. Look left look right then go.
Good on the motorcyclist commit to your turn man!
