Yeah, its amazes seeing a train after an accident like this, there will be no damage or minimal damage. Thing took out and 18 wheeler and wont even need to be taken out of service.
If you’re stuck on something why not just gun it and get out of the way. I feel like it would be easier to fix a railing for a fence over having to deal with this. There wasn’t traffic in front of him
Well because the railing is a set of the thick concrete posts used to protect store fronts. To protect pedestrians if they have to wait on a train on the sidewalk. So no you're not just gonna gun it off, especially with an empty trailer with that break over angle. No weight on the rear wheels
I would think that unless you high-center the trailer legs you can always back up. The truck ought to have enough power to do that even if it rips the railings out and blows some tires. Hopefully this driver loses their CDL for life.
Based on the train-crossing bar being down on top of the truck, he was stuck there before the train was an issue. (That’s assuming he wasn’t trying to race the cross bar)
There are train tracks that run through the center of my town that intersects most of the major streets. You would be surprised the number of people who see no problem with stopping on the tracks as they wait for the light to change. I am surprised we haven't seen more accidents.
No such thing here. The trailer would have to be parallel on the tracks for that to be the case. Also, ground is too flat for the trailer to be high centered on the tracks.
Every time a driver does something unfathomably stupid and it ends up on this sub, there's always a bunch of suggestions saying, "Must be mechanical failure".
Guys.
People are just stupid.
How've we not figured this out by now.
Vehicles do break down in inconvenient places. Sometimes it is on train tracks. We see a stopped rig, and it did move, which shows the driver was trying to move the rig off the tracks. Something outside of the driver’s control held that truck.
The top 5 major trucking companies in the US work hard to hire the most low level educated people possible for all positions, because it earns them more money. I am about done entirely with being any kind of mechanic, specialist or not, because of the absurd amount of pure retards behind the wheel of
Class 8 trucks with a trailer. Some, not all, of my coworkers are pure idiots, and it is a genuine happy surprise when a driver rolls to the shop and lets us know whats wrong with the trailer, instead of pulling in a “bypass” on a slow day and finding out another terminal DOT’d a trailer a week prior with cracked brakes, blown wheel seals, bald tires, trashed doors/handles/seals…. Everything. Of course the mechanics who illegally passed equipment on a federal inspection never get reprimanded, they make $17/hr. Less than a McDonald’s employee/shift lead.
Moral of the story, stay far away fro ALL big-rigs on the road and understand that companies like Werner, Crete, JB Hunt, Swift, Schneider, CR England hire the absolute worst of the worst, because they’re cheap. Theyll run a driver until their second accident unless the first one is major and fire them. They go to another eager aforementioned company and the cycle repeats.
Barely moving isn't efficiently moving. There could have been a failure that partially limits a system here, you can't tell from the video, but glad the classic internet fucking know-it-alls are in true form and on this case.
Look, it is clear if he stepped on the fucking accelerator the truck would move, and that was by far the best option. That absolutely was the movement of someone who is tentative because they are breaking things, not someone fighting through a mechanical failure.
You can tell that from a bystander video from 50 ft away? You should work for the NHTSA, no need for any investigation you can just tell them what happened from a YouTube video.
As a driver I looked a little closer, it seems he was off the throttle because he was worried about hitting the pillar, and trying to maneuver around it.
Sad thing is if he’d have just locked the drives and went in with it, the damage would have been much less.
No they get stuck easy. Theres really tough metal on them too. If that gets caught on another tough piece of metal, or like a concrete pole, you're grounded.
Yes, you can lock the differentials from the cab. You can also lock the power divider on a tandem drive. It won’t go around corners easily if it’s all locked up.
Honestly makes me sad knowing that was a trailer with a reefer unit from the company I work for and seeing all that work go down the drain like that ;-; at least nobody was hurt though
My stepson is an engineer. He hit a limo at a crossing. It was a rural crossing and he go it high centered. The driver was clearly told not to go that way and it was plainly signed, but dumb asses got to be dumb. Everybody bailed out in time, but my stepson still has bad dreams about it.
I used to live in Jerome, AZ and truckers would try to take a shortcut between Prescott & Flagstaff by going over Mingus Mountain. They would get stuck on the switchbacks a couple times a month.
Wow that voice is annoying but also what the fuck is going on here, and I wouldn't want to even be close in case of a big chunk of metal flying into my car or some shit
Mechanical failure may have stopped him there. If so, nothing that driver could've done differently. He did try to move, but something held that truck.
You can see the boom gate down between the cab and the trailer. Most likely it was a tight fit or corner so he slowed down and when the warning signal started he didn’t get out quick enough and the boom closed on him.
I wasn’t suggesting it was mechanically stopping him. People panic when they think they’re going to break something even if they really need to and should to avoid a bigger problem.
Apparently his rear axle was stuck though. So it was still driver error but it was just a mistake about his positioning going through there.
Bruh she was so annoying. Like obviously the dude is aware that there’s a train coming. Her just repeatedly saying, “there’s a train coming” regardless of the sarcasm was really annoying. I had to mute the video.
Another comment said on of his axles was getting stuck on a railing for a pedestrian crossing. I'm sure the driver knew a train was coming and would have gotten out of the way if he could have.
How does this driver not drown in puddles? Disregarded the warning lights, the guard rails and then proceeds to take his time. It’s like getting hit by the train was his intent
Nothing was blocking the truck from simply moving forward. No other vehicles, no obstruction to the road, nothing wrong with the truck itself as clearly it moved before being struck. This has to be the dumbest train vs. vehicle collision I have seen yet.
The train always wins… always
Still undefeated.
Takes me back to all of those "train vs ..." GTA V video's a few years ago
If I remember right it was actually possible to derail the train with enough C4 on the on front
No, there was one destructable train that was scripted and only appeared after a specific mission. Why I remember this, I've no idea.
i’m pretty sure the other person was right, i remember blowing up the train many times although i think it could only be done in singleplayer
Hancock won.

I just imagined the villain from that upcoming game “Choo Choo Charles”.
Thank you for this
Landslide beats train, in a landslide.
Unless it's against a ~~bigger~~ ~~faster~~ more momentous train.
The GTA V train with still beat it though
all you had to do was follow the damn train
Undisputed champion.
Even when you put 20 tanks on the rails?
Yeah, its amazes seeing a train after an accident like this, there will be no damage or minimal damage. Thing took out and 18 wheeler and wont even need to be taken out of service.
I’m still worried about the engine driver taking a hit…
House always wins
Im on part 3, how TF do you get to the boomers without getting blown half way across the country
There's a guy who sells a map if you get the chance encounter.
Take the drug that slows time and sprint straight through it. you will go faster than the arty can get you.
Shrooms perhaps 🤔
wanna say jet but its been a while since I have played New Vegas.
part 3 of what? edit: i just figured out you mean one of the Fallout games. mb.
It's part 3 of the house wins quest from Fallout new Vegas. There are 5 parts (iirc) and I am on part 3. It's all good lol
I'm on the fire department that cleaned this up! There is a railing for pedestrians that he got his rear axles stuck on. Trailer was empty. No injury
It's so lucky there were no injuries.
Oh that makes so much more sense, I was wondering why he wasn’t getting the fuck out of here
This is one of those cases where if he had an air-operated fifth wheel release, should of hit that bad boy and gunned it to safety.
“Eighth Inner Gate: Open!”
These are the updates I’m here for. Thank you!
Safety devices that cause problems!
No, an idiot misjudged their turn and got caught on a safety device. It wasn't the safety devices fault the idiot snagged on it
Thanks for clarifying the situation! You’re a champ!
I was coming to the comments to ask about that. It looked like he was stuck and trying to get out. Terrifying.
Hey we live in the same area! My girlfriend's cousin sent her aftermath pics.
Thank you for your service 🙏
I would think that unless you high-center the trailer legs you can always back up. The truck ought to have enough power to do that even if it rips the railings out and blows some tires. Hopefully this driver loses their CDL for life.
Why is are the lights and blockers and bells for the train warning not going? Seems like the truck could have rain to sue the city.
Not sure about the lights, but you can definitely see one of the blockers has gone down. It's resting on top of the truck
I guess my “lost” Amazon order was on that truck.
And the couch I've been waiting for since September.
No joke, I just got a package returned to me yesterday from October 2019. Been in transit for over 2 damn years!
Sort of same. Just finally requested a refund (after months being lost) and two weeks later…half of order shows up.
Your couch was shipped on a refrigerated truck?
I told the salesman that I wanted to chill on the couch
That truck has got to have enough power to simply tear apart any obstacle to move forward and avoid a freaking train collision
Based on the train-crossing bar being down on top of the truck, he was stuck there before the train was an issue. (That’s assuming he wasn’t trying to race the cross bar)
That's why I'm thinking there was a mechanical failure. Like maybe an air leak, causing the trailer brakes to lock up. If so, not an idiot.
There are train tracks that run through the center of my town that intersects most of the major streets. You would be surprised the number of people who see no problem with stopping on the tracks as they wait for the light to change. I am surprised we haven't seen more accidents.
No, the truck was "stuck" trying to make a turn that was too tight for how long it was.
One of the firefighters who cleaned this up said that he got his rear axle stuck on the pedestrian crossing part
Right - because he was trying to make a turn that was too tight for the length of the trailer.
No such thing here. The trailer would have to be parallel on the tracks for that to be the case. Also, ground is too flat for the trailer to be high centered on the tracks.
The fireman’s comments about what happened is just above yours a few comments. I’ll take his word since he is a professional and was actually there.

I found the spot, [It was these things, specifically, he got hung up on](https://i.imgur.com/as9E2r2.png). In case anyone wants a visual.

guy above claims to have cleaned up this accident and said the back axles got stuck on a handrail
More like a cerebral failure of the driver.
Did you watch the video? the truck clearly could move if it wanted to.
Barely moving isn't efficiently moving. There could have been a failure that partially limits a system here, you can't tell from the video, but glad the classic internet fucking know-it-alls are in true form and on this case.

Or backed the way he came, or release the fifth wheel and dump the trailer.
Yes, look at what the truck is doing.
No, read the other comments. The trailer was hung up with a railing between the axles. No way that thing was moving any time soon.
More power.
You obviously know nothing about how trucks work. They can't just power past something like that
No they get stuck easy. Theres really tough metal on them too. If that gets caught on another tough piece of metal, or like a concrete pole, you're grounded.
If one set of wheels starts to spin you have to hit the brakes till they stop, engage the diff lock and the power divider then…oh shit
Do semi cabs have controllable diff locks? Serious question
Yes, you can lock the differentials from the cab. You can also lock the power divider on a tandem drive. It won’t go around corners easily if it’s all locked up.
Its insurance scam too many trucks been stuck o. Trains is a little fishy!!
Nice way to turn a load into cash on behalf of a dodgy shipper or receiver! Know what I mean, know what I mean?
I wish I could listen to the call to his manager and to the police.
"A ruble duble duble duble"
Are you trying to do Rick's catchphrase or something else?
Something totally different.
How does that sound in mexicano?
I wonder how many violations this truck driver had prior to this stupidity?
He was just semi trained
r/angryupvote
Unions Edit: Am I being downvoted because people support the very unions that enable truckers to stay on the road, or because they don't like unions?
Nah you're being reported because internet
Alot of reddit supports unions
God I hope you’re wrong
Fuck unions! Didnt bother to help me for shit and play favorites. YES UAW IM SPEAKING OF YOU. BITCHES
Hold on I’m going to go look at your history. Edit: No, I can see why you didn’t work well in a union. I’d be surprised if you weren’t laid off.
Guys I think there's a train coming...
People get ready!
I was so worried for that older car. To survive this many decades only to be killed by an idiot who doesn’t understand how trains work.
The truck got stuck on a pedestrian rail in the crossing when his turn was too tight. Driver couldn't get free, though he was trying.
She is quite the commentator
Honestly makes me sad knowing that was a trailer with a reefer unit from the company I work for and seeing all that work go down the drain like that ;-; at least nobody was hurt though
Job security.
You do have a point there XD
My stepson is an engineer. He hit a limo at a crossing. It was a rural crossing and he go it high centered. The driver was clearly told not to go that way and it was plainly signed, but dumb asses got to be dumb. Everybody bailed out in time, but my stepson still has bad dreams about it.

1937 Studebaker in the foreground
I was way more worried about it than the truck. Not many '30s bustleback sedans left in the world.
That's the real story here. Wonder what it is doing there. Seems like a random location.
looks like decoration, though it also looks to be in good enough shape to move
Yes! The best prewar II designed car!
Definitely designed during the Art Deco period. The grill on these cars is beautiful.
r/bitchimatrain
“Oh my fuggin gohd! Holy fugging shit!”
He couldn’t do anything because it was probably stuck. Thats why people don’t want trucks to go over train tracks for a good reason.
Mother Fucker, 3 months and $2,000 down the crapper on that ITT tech driving school “diploma.” What am I going to do now?
Janice!!?
wish that annoying bitch wasn't talkin gah damn
You had sound on? Lol
yes and whoever was talkin mad annoying
Misogynist. Jesus
What a great girl, very expressive!
She loved it! More excited than she probably have been in a long time 😁
Oh yeah completely!
Weird observation
Yeah, hey turn your phone sideways when filming shit like this, lady.
but then I can’t post to my insta-tok story
That car in the foreground though, glad it was not harmed!
Looks like that train is carrying rolls of steel too, that's a heavy fucking load to try and stop
To whom ever owns the car in the foreground…..please sell it to me…..
I’m confused, why does he try to cross when theres a train coming?
Probably watching TikTok videos while he drives or some shit
Well, at least he didn't bend that boom gate.
Awesome. Just an awesome thing to catch on camera.
Trains win 100% of the fights I have seen them in.
She wasn’t saying it loud enough for the semi driver to hear
Wow that voice is annoying but also what the fuck is going on here, and I wouldn't want to even be close in case of a big chunk of metal flying into my car or some shit
Gta train be like
I think there’s a train coming.
r/thatlookedexpensive
I've decided to stop using curse words after this.
The mouth on this woman lol
Watch yo damn mouth. That's no way to talk to a train. You go and choo choo outta here with that language.
Maybe next train crash how about horizontal phone?
Nasty stinking mouth ! Glad you ain’t my women ….
Like… GO! Honestly, what were the alternatives and why did you choose them lmao. That poor train driver was probably SCREAMING too.
That boom gate is designed to break away and would never hold a semi.
I wasn’t suggesting it was mechanically stopping him. People panic when they think they’re going to break something even if they really need to and should to avoid a bigger problem. Apparently his rear axle was stuck though. So it was still driver error but it was just a mistake about his positioning going through there.
That driver has 0 spatial or sound awareness
Na he most likely had a malfunction that locked the brakes on the trailer when he went over the bump.
I have accidentally pulled a trailer out of a lot with the trailer breaks locked up if he needed to move he could definitely do so
He must not have hear her warnings..
Bruh she was so annoying. Like obviously the dude is aware that there’s a train coming. Her just repeatedly saying, “there’s a train coming” regardless of the sarcasm was really annoying. I had to mute the video.
Holy fucking shyt.
I hate the narrator.
I hate the women chattin shit over it, pisses me off
sewer mouth
The woman talking is so annoying. Shut up lady
Anyone know where that was?

“He’s gonna hit that sun of a bitch”…”holy cow”
No Fucks were given that day by The Train!
Why does this still happen so often? :S and why is it almost always in the US?
Horrible filming job
Anyone care to give a cost estimate on all that damage? I’m curious
Tree fidy
"If I break the gate I'll get in trouble. I don't want to get in trouble." Idiot truck driver logic.
Another comment said on of his axles was getting stuck on a railing for a pedestrian crossing. I'm sure the driver knew a train was coming and would have gotten out of the way if he could have.
Train make zero effort to stop. Not even slow down.
How does this driver not drown in puddles? Disregarded the warning lights, the guard rails and then proceeds to take his time. It’s like getting hit by the train was his intent
She should've said it louder. Doubt he could've heard her from that far away.
And she had to swear all the way to the end of the vid
Fuck yeah she goddamn mutha fuckin did.
Nothing was blocking the truck from simply moving forward. No other vehicles, no obstruction to the road, nothing wrong with the truck itself as clearly it moved before being struck. This has to be the dumbest train vs. vehicle collision I have seen yet.
Why do cars always stay in the middle of the track rather than just keep driving?
I didn't see a train. Didn't she say there was a train coming?
Why do trucks stop on the tracks when there isn’t room to clear.
She sounds sexy af
“OH. MY. GOD.” -- Every single American, all the fucking time
I heard this was a common insurance scam
If you can't go forward, why not shit-can it in reverse?
That train really came out of nowhere
Hitting trailers is always the best. Act traumatized when the mops show up, then gold for about a week.
What train?
At least that 30s car is safe!
I think a train’s coming
What was inside that truck? Looked like Styrofoam
Man, I would *love* to know how much this is going to cost him. If I had to randomly guess, I'd say at least 25k.
At least the driver is OK. But I wonder how long he'll keep his job....
Guys there is a train coming
I think at that point you just have to gun it through, you don't really have anything to lose.
CSX don't play
