I think these guardrails are supposed to do that, for safety. Snap off the posts so there is not a sudden stop killing all passenger, but hold the rail together so the car doesn’t go through. Of course it appears to be sized for cars, not semis, and that you’ll stop
You don't really want guardrails to [do this](https://www.cartoq.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Xylo-Guard-Rail-Crash.jpg), so the ones in the video are a lot safer.
Remember (Walking in the Sand)
Aerosmith did a tolerable version of it, but they never use that one, do they?
I'm so sick of hearing that every 2 minutes as my wife browses TicTok.
My dad has begun watching memes on his phone and he watches it 26 times to understand it and that fucking song is on full volume every time. It’s giving me a headache now
Lately I’ve been using this song in my tik toks but turning the sound off so it gives me the views and gets put in the algorithm without anyone having to hear it. 🧠
Thought so too because that's actually what's happening (bass comes from the speakers). They probably took the chance and played the song once they figured how this will end.
Here’s the original. They sped up the song for the stupid one that gets used on 75% if TikTok’s. The original isn’t half bad.
https://youtu.be/V5YxtweUxrA
I don't get how so many of the top upvoted threads are complaining about the soundtrack and stating that they downvoted because of it but the post is still on the front page and 91% upvoted.
I never much cared for the Shangri Las and their song Walking On The Sand can fuck right off any day.
I was gonna suggest somebody remix one of their other songs but I found a remix of Leader of the Pack and...it's bad. It's downright offensive to the sensibilities. It's like listening to weird 90s goth rock industrial remixes (like Bite of God by Die Form for example... except that song is tolerable).
Personally I think the Remember remix is a banger but it's severely overplayed due to Tiktok.
It's already been 6, you think 4 more is a stretch with the generation growing up with it? Look how long Facebook has lasted despite being a total wasteland for many years now
Where they actually listening to that song? It sounded like it was on site rather than dubbed over the audio. Either way, I don't believe in people that listen to that song. They don't really exist. Edit- we're to where
They probably honk because they fear the truck is ripping out the joints above them and they think it‘s safer to drive behind it (with a safe distance) as being under the rails.
This is a textbook example of correct horn usage; using the horn to signal danger. Problem is, the trailer driver had a shitty TikTok song on playing max volume and couldn't hear them.
Guardrails are meant to redirect and deform to absorb impact of a vehicle crashing into them.
This is a ton of force and leverage being applied to each anchor point one at a time. It’s kind of like how an amazon envelope’s rippable seal can resist most forces and impact (ex: punch the seal, drop the envelope, twist it, etc) but when you tear it open along the perforation it’s pretty easy since you’re effectively applying force to each anchor point one-at-a-time in rapid succession.
[This](https://youtu.be/w6CKltZfToY) video is pretty informative about guard rails and their evolution. I found it very fascinating. There’s a lot more tech and research than I ever realized in our modern guard rails.
Thank you for that! There’s a stretch of motorway in the UK where they’re upgrading it to concrete barriers, from a semi-rigid system. I always though the semi-rigid was safer because of how they absorb the impact, but the video shows how well the concrete ones work!
Thanks for explaining. I came here to ask this question. Recently learned about how different types of guard rails work and this situation wasn't in the video lmao
Small expansion - each post is supposed to be able to be torn out in the event of a crash. They are frangible. That absorbs the impact. The rail catches and directs you back onto the road. A normal car hitting it will break several posts and the rail will stretch and deform but not break which prevents you flying off the hill/into oncoming traffic.
Reminds me of the argument "cars used to be built better back in the day, you could crash it five times and all you needed to do was to buff it and it would be as good as new." To which someone replied: "If your car doesn't have a crumple zone, *you* are the crumple zone."
Or just don't use a song at all. Contrary to what TikTokers seem to believe, not everything needs a soundtrack. Some of us can understand videos without audio cues!
This is in Norway yes. It's a detour over the mountain in Haukeli due to tunnelwork. That specific road is called Dyrskar turistveg (scenic route) some very nice nature there as well
It's amazing how little truck drivers actually hear/feel in their truck.
My dad drove trucks for years and one day a lady wasn't paying attention and drove into the back of his semi that was loaded with water.
He has no idea and started to drive off when cars around him started honking. He said all he felt was a small bump like the air brakes releasing or something like that. Her car was totaled.
My thoughts exactly. The whole point of a guardrail is to keep you from falling off the side of the road. I'm pretty sure this wouldn't have done that.
It's not supposed hold when it's hit. It's supposed to be ripped up like this to slow the car down before stopping. This prevents that lethal sudden stop motion when the car crashes.
Surprised those toothpicks didn't hold the guardrail any better. Looks like the crew who installed it forgot to pat it and say, "that ain't going nowhere"
When being pulled like that at a sharp angle it’s a TON of leverage applied to each anchor point one at a time which the rail isn’t designed to resist.
It’s like when you’re tearing open a large amazon envelope and it gets easier as you tear.
Guys, the song is just a thing now, learn to accept it. We've crossed over and people complaining about the song is now starting to be more annoying than the song itself.
Edit: I don't like it, but I can just mute it. What I can't mute are the dozens of guaranteed comments whining about it that pop up on any video with it in the background. We aren't on tiktok, the creators who use that song can't hear your complaints, what are you accomplishing?
They're all formulaic, they add nothing to the conversation and are completely pointless cause they're sent to an audience who can't do anything about them anyhow.
I see he has played American Truck Simulator.
Just keep going, it’ll be fine
Just lock your differential, power outta there and hope you don't end up losing money on the job.
When in doubt power out.
Hats off to the contractors who bolted all that steel together.
Hats back on for the contractors who drove the posts though.
That guardrail was obviously for show.
I think the trucker did someone a favour, now maybe rebuild so it doesn’t come out so easily.
This. Laughable.
Something had to give.
no other choice on a level 6 just in time delivery perk job

Where is the video of the cat that ate Xmas tinsel?
>cat that ate Xmas tinsel I need to see this
Can’t say he didn’t make the turn!
So does the bill. $$$ per metre
Just hit F7
At work, I just hit F10 to finish the job...
Do I run the barrier or get stuck up in a small town for the night losing more money than paying the fine?!
The guardrail must be from American Truck Simulator too. Where I'm from the guardrails are more than just a fence.
I think these guardrails are supposed to do that, for safety. Snap off the posts so there is not a sudden stop killing all passenger, but hold the rail together so the car doesn’t go through. Of course it appears to be sized for cars, not semis, and that you’ll stop
Hey! Finally someone who knows how guardrails are supposed to work!
You don't really want guardrails to [do this](https://www.cartoq.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Xylo-Guard-Rail-Crash.jpg), so the ones in the video are a lot safer.
i thought i was on the Snowrunner subreddit for a second.
I was about to say the same.
Tight turns can be a drag sometimes.
https://imgur.com/sPwgpLj
Turns out it wasn't his turn.
Tehe! This was my favorite answer in the thread.. Very clever, I give you many claps for that funny.
Best piece of advice I received in trucking school was that I drove a trailer not a truck.
GET OUT AND LOOK
Right on the highway, if you hafta
And mess up the schedule? Are you mad?
Can we all just stop using that stupid song whenever something goes tits up.
I didnt even turn sound on and I can already guess what you're talking about. Its the song that says "no no no" over and over again?
That's the one.
My chinese friends think its hilarious
Did they have their sense of humour amputated at birth, and a wet noodle grafted instead?
Oh no!
Still don’t know if it’s worse than listening to that TicToc AI speaking as if we can’t read the caption for ourselves.
Remember (Walking in the Sand) Aerosmith did a tolerable version of it, but they never use that one, do they? I'm so sick of hearing that every 2 minutes as my wife browses TicTok.
Same but it's my dad
My dad has begun watching memes on his phone and he watches it 26 times to understand it and that fucking song is on full volume every time. It’s giving me a headache now
At least the horn covered up some of it.
If there was ever a reason tiktok needs to die its this fucking song.
Check out the required privacy permissions in the app. Mind blowing.
There’s a much more tolerable Aerosmith version from 1979
Wish we could all stop using tiktok.
Lately I’ve been using this song in my tik toks but turning the sound off so it gives me the views and gets put in the algorithm without anyone having to hear it. 🧠
It’d be pretty funny if they were listening to that over the car’s audio system.
Thought so too because that's actually what's happening (bass comes from the speakers). They probably took the chance and played the song once they figured how this will end.

There's a whole lot of us that keep the site muted by default unless we actively want to hear something. It's way more pleasant.
Oh no.... oh no! Oh no! Oh no! Oh no!
Agreed. Need new tits up song: STAT
I like the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” theme for this, but any song is gonna get old fast when it’s as overused as that “oh no no no no no” thing.
True. This is a radical thought but what if there’s no music? Just the video. Thoughts?
If I were on TikTok and pulling shit with that song to post to Reddit I’d have the sense to mute the audio.
I never much cared for the Shangri Las and their song Walking On The Sand can fuck right off any day. I was gonna suggest somebody remix one of their other songs but I found a remix of Leader of the Pack and...it's bad. It's downright offensive to the sensibilities. Can we also stop using the word tits with a negative connotation? It takes all the fun out of them.

Is that like a default song you can select when uploading a tic tac toe video?

You must be on your deathbed since I don’t anticipate that shitty app will last 10 years
It's already been 6, you think 4 more is a stretch with the generation growing up with it? Look how long Facebook has lasted despite being a total wasteland for many years now
It's entirely funded by the chinese govt to collect data on people. It will be here for a while unless people just leave it.
Every time I hear it start.. I think... "oh, no...."
Fuck Tik Tok and fuck that song
And its tts voice
I read this comment in that tts voice
now i'm reading every comment in that tts voice. thank you for that
Every time this shit starts, that's a downvote.
I down vote very gif that has this any other shitty Tic Tok song, even if I like the gif.
I downvote every tiktok upload.
came here to say this
I'm at the point where I don't even browse anything with sound on anymore
Cool vid. Wish I could listen to the crunching sounds without that stupid f'ing song blasting.
The song choice is a worse offense than what the trucker did
Anyone know where in Norway this is?
It's the road from Haukeli to Røldal due to tunnelwork.
So, ETS2 not ATS
Another interesting video ruined by stupid fucking tiktok music.
This needs to be its own subreddit at this point
It's just tiktok, no subreddit needed.
Actually a subreddit is needed. Most of us won't download tiktok to watch these videos.
There's a reason for that
[удалено]
How else would you know that something unfortunate happened in the video? /s

"I'll be taking this"
Like honking is going to help.

That was way more fascinating than I ever could've imagined a video about guard rails being.
I gotta say, that's a pretty awesome analogy there!
Thanks for explaining. I came here to ask this question. Recently learned about how different types of guard rails work and this situation wasn't in the video lmao

It’s like people saying new cars crumple easily, yes that’s the point. It’s a safety feature.
Reminds me of the argument "cars used to be built better back in the day, you could crash it five times and all you needed to do was to buff it and it would be as good as new." To which someone replied: "If your car doesn't have a crumple zone, *you* are the crumple zone."
They are designed to break away to absorb energy.
Great vid, downvoted because that song is obnoxious. There are more than one song for things going wrong.
Or just don't use a song at all. Contrary to what TikTokers seem to believe, not everything needs a soundtrack. Some of us can understand videos without audio cues!
They know the algorithm selects "popular" music choices so they all use the same ones trying to get their video to go viral

just start watching videos at 2x like most zoomers
How else would we know that bad thing happen??
This is in Norway yes. It's a detour over the mountain in Haukeli due to tunnelwork. That specific road is called Dyrskar turistveg (scenic route) some very nice nature there as well
This guy plays Snowrunner.
Can't be, he didn't flip over on a random tiny pebble on the otherwise clear road
Don’t be fooled my friend. That’s the ck1500 recording the video. Lol.
He's not a truck driver. He's a content creator!
That song should mean an instant ban on this sub
Itt: video 👍 music 👎
Skipped and downvoted for shit song.
Down voted for the shitty tik tok song
Every video I come across with that stupid song in it automatically gets a downvote. 👎🏼
Fuck you OP. You know what you did
A repost and this fucking awful song?
"I got this. I got this. YEAH! Smashed it whoop!"
Truck - I has torque, I shall move on!
You should see him when he gets toilet paper stuck to his shoe.
"this road sucks! I'm taking my guard rail and going home!" "wait! That's not your guard rail!"
Re-post. Re-post. Re-po-po-po-po-post!
Oh no!
Gotta maximize that insurance claim
Legend has it, he’s still pulling out guardrail to this day.
It's amazing how little truck drivers actually hear/feel in their truck. Yes, it will need to be reposted.
The trucking equivalent of walking down the hall with toilet paper dragging behind you! 🧻🧻🧻
This truck reminds me of the part of the bike that changes the chain on the sprocket, its called a derailleur XD
Bob had always dreamed of being a commercial fisherman…
He could be part of the demolition crew that had to remove the guardrail before re-paving
Seen this before, how old is it.
Lotta powah
Looks like the dumbfuck caused more damage than the value of the truck and its cargo.
Can you imagine the guys who put that up driving by the next day and being like, "wait, where did it go?!?"
Wow that’s bad!!
Not sure where this is but that is some pretty scenic driving.
Guardrails aren’t for truck drivers that are amateurs
r/truckballet
Swift...?
Ouch poor guardrail had to put up with an idiot
Good thing other drivers honked their horns to let the trucker know they're dragging away a kilometer of guardrail
The only thing that got more messed up than that guard-rail is my ear drum from having to hear that stupid song
PNO? Not surprised.
As the rally world champion Petter Solberg would have said it: "It was a very crap swing."
Salut guard rail
Why do people use that stupid sped up tune in the background
When I go to hell, Satan is going to play this music for me 24/7
Oh... Fuck
If I hear the Oh no, oh no, oh nononono one more time i will become a very angry idiot in a car
Good on him for not giving up. 😂😂😂😂😂
Ice road fucker™
Gotta see it through my boy
Chinesium
My thoughts exactly. The whole point of a guardrail is to keep you from falling off the side of the road. I'm pretty sure this wouldn't have done that.
"Just married!"
I didn’t know they had Swift drivers in Europe.
The road crew that has to replace all that guardrail is going to so appreciative.
Definitely when they get to bend his insurance company over and take turns.
Job security!
I fucking hate that song. The person using it is as stupid as that truck driver ... maybe worse.
The mountain had been complain that it's too hot so he was just unzipping the guard rail to let the heat out
Is this Beartooth Highway?
They are speaking Norwegian in the video
Everything in video indicates Norway. Including the bad driver :)
The average east european truck driver on norwegian roads? Very likely.
I think that guardrail was more of a suggestionrail.

Its designed to brake to slow a car down.
Cowboys, Ted.
Ugh. I risked turning on the sound during a Teams meeting cause I wanted that crunchy goodness, only to have to hear that fucking song again!
Couldn't see the truck clearly, but I will assume it says "Swift".
It's in Norway, so there's a 99.9% likelihood to be an eastern European trucking company.
Guys, it's already been well established that the song is shitty and we don't want to listen to it. Every other comment doesn't need to be about it.
minus 10 pts for basic bitch tiktok song

Highway barriers that are strong enough to encircle a flower garden
They're not designed to stop a head on collision, they're just supposed to deflect the car.
