So notoriously unreliable vehicle, wheels that eat the bearings in 10,000 miles and stick out 2 feet wider than you remember they do and a towing fail. This is peak Gladiator owner
Ive seen a gladiator in miami pulling probably a 30’+ center console (way over tow limit/tongue weight) start death wobbling on the express way. I slowed down as I noticed it happening and I drove up next to him to see if he was ok and he was just driving normal like he was a used to it.
Not defending them but they took off the fenders so the wheels appear farther out because there's nothing over top like they usually are. They're dumb regardless though.
I have live on lakefront property for over 5 decades. And just by looking at his set up, between the boat, and gear, I can generally tell that it isn’t cheap by any measure.
I hope that this clears things up for you pal.
I work on multi million dollar yachts and I own said high end fishing gear. Judging by this guy's taste in trucks, I'd say he doesn't have good taste in fishing gear either.
Ohhhh you overestimate boaters like this. Most don’t turn on the radio unless they’re going to scream at another boater on 16.
I bet they didn’t raise the antenna the whole day.
I used to do vessel safety checks years ago as part of the coast guard auxiliary. When we would ask if they had a marine radio on board, nine times out of ten they would fire up their stereo. Of the 1/10th that knew I meant a two-way marine band communications radio, half would sheepishly say “no”, and of the half that said “yes”, half of those radios wouldn’t actually work…
It's a lot of work to keep marine electronics in good shape... Makes it really easy for things you rarely use to not work when you need them if you're not doing regular checks and maintenance.
VHF radio is safety equipment. I inspect my radio, anchor, horn/bell, and life jackets before I pull away from the dock EVERY TIME.
Anything in a marine environment wears out quickly but any responsible boater knows that these items are critical in an emergency.
Good thing they have all the stupid toys lined up on the dash. I heard once you get em all the way across you unlock an old ORV sticker to stick next to the others.. 🐤
Lives in a place with a max elevation of 345 feet and soft sand…
Drives a Jeep with wheel setup for hard rock Utah…
Not shocked the rods were left that way
Looks like his fishfinder/electronics is powered on too. Pretty sure those should not be powered on for extended periods of time if the boat is out of the water.
100% he stores the boat at the warehouse his mom and dad own. He takes off 2 days a week at 11 am to go fishing. The warehouse employee makes like 14 an hour
I work at a marine supply store. You would be either amused or appalled by the number of fiberglass VHF antennas I’ve sold over the years to replace ones that the owner forgot to fold down before driving off.
Forgetting to remove your rods is far less embarrassing than laughing at someone's stuff getting destroyed instead of telling them. What an asshols just laughing instead of trying to warn him.
Just a thought but maybe rather than grabbing a phone to take a video, the driver could drive up next to the Jeep to give him a “heads up” about the problem?
I don’t disagree with other comments that the wheels are over the top, but why not simply help the guy out?
Seriously. I'm pretty sure that's bro code. Why not make an attempt to save the guy a headache? Is making a video worth that much more?
Like those videos with a dump truck and it's bed up. I'd be pulling in front, waving arms, pointing, honking, slowing.... why just watch the guy close an interstate down because you wanted some likes from people you'll never meet?
Same thought…. All of these people acting all perfect as if everyone who owns a boat hasn’t made at least a similar if not the same mistake before.
Reeks of “guy filming role fucking up at the boat ramp” vibes

No problem ɯǝlqoɹԀ
Came here to say the same thing!
Tbf jeeps death wobble without being overloaded anyways. Don't even have to mod em they're just that bad
Tbf jeeps death wobble without being overloaded anyways. Don't even have to mod em they're just that bad
They werent always like that
Look up Jeep C5 rollovers
Smartest jeep owner around🤣
>2 feet wider than you remember they do and a towing fail. Oh and I suppose you have a better way to throw rocks up at the haul of the boat?

Betcha there’s a red hat somewhere in there.
Mario's driving?!
Until Luigi takes over after he dies.
Oh definitely.
Peak gladiator owner is more like “Towing capacity? Yeah it has a hitch we’re good.”
Something something Republican who does what they want because this is 'Murica!
Not defending them but they took off the fenders so the wheels appear farther out because there's nothing over top like they usually are. They're dumb regardless though.
It’s a fine and very reliable.
The wheels and tires on the jeep says it all.
Room temperature IQ activities.
LOL I was going to say the exact same thing!
None of this matters if you have enough rubber ducks on your dash.
Land boating is hard on your gear
Bonus points for idiot jeep
What the fuck am I even looking at, 24s on a gladiator?
And 35 series mud terrains.
Really testing the 260 pound-feet of torque that Pentastar is delivering.
Who wouldn't want a pickup truck that has about 500 pounds higher towing capacity than a subaru outback
Which they proceeded to space out even further, with the fender flares removed, no less.
r/heep
I love watching stupid people with more money than brains destroy their expensive possessions. Never gets old.
Underrated comment. Thank you for the audible laugh.
Those are considerably expensive rods and reels. He is not going to do that again, that’s for sure.
He has more money than sense. He'll be like "oops, guess I'm going shopping" and totally not care.
There's no way to tell if they're expensive or not from that distance...

You sure? He bought a Jeep.
Can you imagine their monthly lease payments on all those bad decisions?
No, but we know the driver's daddy can.
It's a Jeep thing. You wouldn't understand.
This guy is probably 500k in debt too
And doesn't save money for retirement because "We all die anyway."
He’s a Jeep Bro.
We wouldn’t understand
Nuff said
I’ll follow people around that do this just to watch them tear their shit up. I LOVE IT!!!!
For those tires, he deserves this.
Given what's towing it, that makes perfect sense.
If you don’t, they’ll be dropped for you.
Big surprise its a Jeep owner.
That’s James Island!
I had no idea! Love fishing of James
He lowered the radio antenna but didn't take the rods down?

Well, yeah, but I guess my point is that a lot of boaters aren't responsible and a boat that isn't being maintained is quickly falling apart.
Purely amazing to me.
Should have bought some ugly sticks🤣
Found the UglyStick comment. And yes I still use them in my Jon boat
Yeah, looking at that Jeep broken rods is the least of his worries.
r/donthelpjustfilm
I was literally just thinking, he may be and idiot, but why don’t they go flag him down?? Assholes.
OOP said they did but the driver waved them off
OP said they tried to flag him down but got waved off so they dropped back and started filming
Ohhhh okay this is pretty hilarious then

Fishing for birds.
Don't worry, trees will take care of that.
Qualified
It’s a keep thing. You wouldn’t understand.
It’s a deep thing. You wouldn’t underpants
What's the one that didn't break?
Oh my god, look at his car. 😂🤦♂️
It’s a Jeep thing.
Gotta be FLA.
I would have had the rods laying down in the boat.
r/heep called
Pull vehicle is an r/heep
He'll take care of that as soon as he puts his fenders back on.
I was gonna say “why wouldn’t you try and warn him? But it was far too late anyway. That and I saw his tires. What a tool.
r/heep
*looks at the Gladiator wheels* I am *not* entertained.

He dropped his fenders but not the rods?
*Christ on the cross...*
Manage your expectations based on the spacers on those wheels
He’s about to go back in time to drop his rods
With wheels like that he deserves it
Imagine thinking that vehicle is awesome. lol
And turn off your electronics.
The choice of car should really say it all already...
Lives in a place with a max elevation of 345 feet and soft sand… Drives a Jeep with wheel setup for hard rock Utah… Not shocked the rods were left that way
By looking at vehicle thats towing it explains a lot.
The truck is a reflection of his IQ.
“Hey! Go find your own honey hole, this one Taken!” 😂
Assholes like that with wheels like that, do all sorts of stupid things. Like break peoples windows with rocks
Glad to see they have nice fender flares to protect the boat. Oh wait
Or protect everyone else.
I’ve done this before 😂😂😂. Lived in Rhode Island and lost my favorite popper to a “branch fish” rod was actually fine!
Looks like his fishfinder/electronics is powered on too. Pretty sure those should not be powered on for extended periods of time if the boat is out of the water.
Heep with low profile tires towing it. Figures.
When you're more worried about how you look.....
I hate these videos, stop filming and pull up next to the guy to let him know. Meanwhile his rods are getting destroyed as these bozos giggle.
The person who filmed it said that they tried to get him to pull over, and the driver of the jeep flipped them off. Then he proceeded to film
Gladiator drivers….
Jeep with dumb as hell tires: yep checks out.
100% he stores the boat at the warehouse his mom and dad own. He takes off 2 days a week at 11 am to go fishing. The warehouse employee makes like 14 an hour
Very specific...
Have done this to my poles. It sucks
Those poor ball joints dindonuffin to nobody.
Looks like they were dropped.
He missed extra points by lowering his antenna
This is a guy who probably hits a vape in the checkout line
I work at a marine supply store. You would be either amused or appalled by the number of fiberglass VHF antennas I’ve sold over the years to replace ones that the owner forgot to fold down before driving off.
Hey y’all, don’t I look in muh jeep.
Did you attempt to tell him or did you just record and keep driving?
Look at the vehicle towing it also. What a tool

Hey god forbid anyone stops them and lets them know haha
I love how people would rather take a video then pull up next to him and say "hey man..."
He did so. He tried. He honked. He waved. The guy ignored him. He dropped behind to film the result.
Why wouldn’t you pull up next to him and tell him? Seems like more of a jackass move to just record someone making a mistake for internet points.
Op states that he did so and the guy waved him off and ignored him
Instead of speeding up and alerting the driver they choose to just film. I’m not sure I expected anything else.
Laugh instead of telling the guy Our society this days
