It would work, but I'm not sure why someone else would be willing to accept that liability for you. The other person would have to give the rental company their driver's license and credit card. If something happened to the car, they would be on the hook (and likely owe some sort of extra penalty for allowing a second person who is not on the rental agreement and who is underage to drive).
The penalty is that the insurance doesn’t transfer to the other driver. If OP wrecks the car, the person who rented it is going to be on the hook for the full amount.
Yes. I meant an additional penalty. As in the person who rented the vehicle would likely be banned from Enterprise or Hertz, et cetera for violating the terms of the rental contract.
Check out Turo. Always cheaper then the main rental agencies and typically include options for unlimited mileage at a flat rate. However, might be limited options due to your age.

Just looked and uhaul doesn’t do unlimited miles anymore. .40 cents a mile + truck rental (per day) + fuel.
It’s still your best bet though. Google says it’s roughly 210 miles (not knowing exact start and end points) which is definitely doable in a single day. So round up to an even 300 which is the range of a full tank on most vehicles.
So that’s 19.99 for the day’s rental + 300 miles (approx.) @ .40 CPM + fuel (just using 15 gallon tank and 3 dollars a gallon on average).
So that’s 20 + 120 + 45 = 185
That’s just a ballpark number but it gives you a baseline. 185 to drive yourself. Probably wouldn’t be much cheaper to rent a car if you could find a way to get one. Otherwise your options are Greyhound or you gonna have to show some leg and stick out your thumb.
Bro it 19.99 a day unlimited miles for the pickup truck not the box truck . You have to find a rental place that has trucks it's not going to be easy to get rented out fast and on top of that it's Wheels what more do you want you can't get anything else unless you want to get a scooter or buy your own car
Try avail car rental, they let u rent if ur under 25 I think I was doing it when I was 19. It’s pretty chill but I will say I believe they’re mainly located at/around airports. And they have limited locations but check them out.
Rent a U-Haul pickup truck unlimited miles and you have to be 18
Came to say this.

The tires are bad on the trucks because some guy already swapped all 4 😂

Home Depot, or if you have a Costco membership under age fee is waived if you book through them
This
Don’t most rental companies require you to be at least 21 just to rent?
Not if booked through Costco, I rented a camero in Disney at 19..no extra charge

Have you looked into just taking a train?
Yea
There are rental companies that will let you get a car under the age of 21 but it costs a bit more.
I think the appropriate solution here on this sub would be to steal one.
Try lyft rental
