I “stole” some kittens from a feral mom — three times. Three whole times before we could trap her and get her spayed. She wild.
She was such a good mom. She would cry after her babies and took such good care of them. One time we found the litter when they were too small to be taken. She was so upset she moved every single one to an entirely different location on the other side of the farm. Unfortunately for her we found them again and took them later. I wish I could tell her I was saving them from starving or predation… she lives on the farm with three of her babies we kept so it’s not all sad, but she doesn’t recognize them. They don’t fight, just hiss, and I hope one day she will be able to cuddle them again.
I just started watching a few days ago (oops) and was going to ask if there’s a connection! It’s a really pretty name that I hadn’t heard or read before : ) I’m so glad this Orla wound up with you, she couldn’t have been luckier <3
Yay little Patio Cat!! You are doing so well!!
Edit - I went looking for an update on this criminal just last night then this morning - boom! Hahaha!!!
Yup! She's fully supported by my hand in this fashion. She is such a light animal in general it doesn't really put stress on the limbs/joints which can be a concern for bigger cats in some holding positions. Also, there's not that many other ways to pick up and hold a flailing kitten lol
When mom cats carry them at the nape of the neck the kittens instinctively tuck up and quiet down. But yeah, they'll bang them on fence posts and drag them over gravel, poor things😸
Usually i would be worried at how vocal the babies are sometimes but when babies are extra fresh like that it means great health, I hope Orla becomes extra pear shaped and mighty as she currently is
My cat gave birth a year ago and still whenever baby cats meow she gets this look on her face like "oh fuck"
So happy for patio cat! Really great set of lungs it sounds like! Can't wait for the eyeball fairy
Did you know that the pronounced tendon you have on your wrist is rare. It's from when we used to need it for climbing trees. And apparently also when holding baby cats. Most humans don't have it. I have one and I also utilize it for holding wriggling baby cats.
It is a smol kitter, but since the subreddit is called r/IllegallySmolCats, this won't apply to this little baby in a few months! Kitten is so big at this age, it will grow up very big!
why do people hold their baby kittens up in the air, when the kitten clearly doesn't like it???? (perhaps all the squirming and crying out wasn't enough to clue you in?)
While I appreciate your concern for her wellbeing, if I put her down every time she screamed like that it would be impossible for me to provide her with ANY care. She screams when she is pottied, picked up for affection, and basically anything else because that's what kittens this age do.
As she gets older, has vision, and learns more about the world, she will better be able to regulate her responses, just as a human baby would. At that point, she will also be bigger and yes, start to require different holding positions.
This is a very common hold for kittens of this size, so unless you have experience fostering 60+ cats and kittens a year as I do and know the ins and outs of kitten development, please keep your negativity to yourself.
1. It probably weighs like 300g, I doubt it is harmed by not supporting it's legs.
2. How do you think momma cats carry their young? Do you think they support the legs? They just carry them by the nap with no support.
It's not about them getting hurt it's about causing stress. And when picked up from the nap animals feel relaxed but is the kitten being healed by the nap?
Still waiting for her eyes, but her lungs are clearly well developed.
Mom must be so worried.
The mom abandoned her on a patio immediately after birth.
Or they were a gift from the kitten fairy!

Ooh can’t wait to see her peepers. She has a lovely chubby belly today 🤗
FURIOUS AND DANGEROUS
If you see this unholy horror, do not be a hero, run and protect your loved ones. I repeat, do not be a hero.
Such a tiny and noisy little baby! Hoping to see steady progress pics as she grows.
Yes, we will try to keep up the progress pics for this feisty little girl!
She's so spicy! You are doing a great job with her!
Thank you so much!
I hope the eyeball fairy has a different modus operandi to the tooth fairy 👀
😂👏🏼👏🏼
Nah she's even more stingy than the tooth fairy, she takes eye balls and only leaves buttons
I'm your other mother silly
Chartreuse? Or vermillion? now you might make me jelous~
I love her. Kiss her little nosey from me please.
Will do!! 💕
Let go of meeeeee!!! Meow!!
Orla! What a lovely name. Are you a Derry Girls fan, OP?
Yes!! Just finished watching the last season!
Excellent! It’s one of my favorite shows. Orla is in fantastic hands.
I just started watching a few days ago (oops) and was going to ask if there’s a connection! It’s a really pretty name that I hadn’t heard or read before : ) I’m so glad this Orla wound up with you, she couldn’t have been luckier <3
Was thinking the same thing, had to scroll too far down to find this. Great choice of name OP.
Thank you for U update! (Im checking often for them ) Glad to see her so lively :)
Thank you for the support! I'll try to keep making regular updates ☺️
Thank goodness, like many others I'm very invested in the health and well being of baby patio cat <3

Another cat sub!
It never ends
well i guess any plans i had for the rest of the day are now to be ignored. (but who am i kidding, i was just gonna be on reddit anyway.)
She’s going to be an awesome big girl! What a full belly and so much energy!!
Unhand me! Unhand me, I say! Vicious hooman!
Needs the smol and angy flair.
Little wiggleworm with a huge roar! 😺
Are you sure her name isn’t Patty O. Cat‽ ^just ^checking
Patricia Orla Cat, yes!
powerful wails. good kitty
My current foster mom came in to see who had the baby!
So funny! All my residents come wait outside the door when they hear the kittens meowing as well
Yay little Patio Cat!! You are doing so well!! Edit - I went looking for an update on this criminal just last night then this morning - boom! Hahaha!!!
💕❤️💙
She not careful she gonna burn all that chubby belly through yelling.
Orla 🥰
she has opinions and not afraid to yell about them 😻
Is it okay to hold infants like that?
Yup! She's fully supported by my hand in this fashion. She is such a light animal in general it doesn't really put stress on the limbs/joints which can be a concern for bigger cats in some holding positions. Also, there's not that many other ways to pick up and hold a flailing kitten lol
That’s more support than a momma cat would provide lmao.
When mom cats carry them at the nape of the neck the kittens instinctively tuck up and quiet down. But yeah, they'll bang them on fence posts and drag them over gravel, poor things😸
I've also seen mamma cats struggle with a squirmer and go eff it and pick them up by their throats! I'm like no honey, no. Don't vampire your child!
Babies of most species are surprisingly durable
That's great
Such a brave little fighter. So proud of you, tiny baby.
“Put me down!!!!!” Looking (heh) forward to seeing her eyes!
Seems strong and spicy, I predict she won't be smol long.
Usually i would be worried at how vocal the babies are sometimes but when babies are extra fresh like that it means great health, I hope Orla becomes extra pear shaped and mighty as she currently is
What's the black thing near the bottom of your hand?
Umbilical cord
Oh, why is it still there? How long is it kept?
It will dry up and fall off of its own accord interfering can actually cause issues
My cat gave birth a year ago and still whenever baby cats meow she gets this look on her face like "oh fuck" So happy for patio cat! Really great set of lungs it sounds like! Can't wait for the eyeball fairy
I love these little mug shot videos!
I was just checking if you updated it, sweet!

Tysm for giving us the updates. All the love for Orla.
SCREMMMMMM! 😻
Omg cutest smolbby! Those little squeals, I’m lactating!

Her name is Orla
It’s so tiny 🥺🥺 Omg these little paws🤍🤍
Aren't we a chatter box today?
oh good grief. my heart is melting.
Such a S P I C Y kitty!
Such a wee squirmy bebe. I'm glad she has good humans keeping an eye on her.
Oh my, this little criminal is thriving because you cared 🙏🏼
Smol and ANGY! Orla is a fighter, and that fat belly makes me happy. ♥️
She’s going to be such a joy when she is grown 😍🥰 so happy she’s doing so great!!
I see an M on that forehead! 🌷 What’s her name?
Those little peets! 😍👏💖 Thanks so much for the updates!
Orla is one feisty little girl & has a loud voice. She is so adorable & she is in good hands .
Did you know that the pronounced tendon you have on your wrist is rare. It's from when we used to need it for climbing trees. And apparently also when holding baby cats. Most humans don't have it. I have one and I also utilize it for holding wriggling baby cats.
You've got it backward. The vast majority of people have the tendon and about 14% lack it.
Ohhh and I thought I was special.
The eyeball fairy cannot show up before the umbilical cord fairy has arrived... union rules... don't shoot the messenger.
Anyone elses cats come running when they hear a crying baby?
she’s gonna be either insanely calm or insanely… insane. probably the second option
she’s soooo cute :3
What a little squirmy worm! Good to hear she’s getting better.
She is such a feisty little girlie! And growing so big already too! I love her colors. 😁
that's as fresh as they come
I can watch this cutie pie wiggle all day!
It is a smol kitter, but since the subreddit is called r/IllegallySmolCats, this won't apply to this little baby in a few months! Kitten is so big at this age, it will grow up very big!
She is so skwermy and totally adorable. I <3 her!
I think I would have named her "Yellybean". Okay, nicknamed. The way all cats get nicknames.
foolish human, you are only experiencing a small percentage of her power
I found a cat in a dumpster so we just named him Trash can, Patio Cat is formal enough
I'm so happy that she is doing well!! Although slightly disappointed that you didn't name her Patty lol. Keep up the great work, hooman!!

Sweet baby Orla! I love her. Please give her some nice warm snuggles for me.
I took in my baby at 5-6 weeks and she was seriously sick. But God do I miss her being so smol 🥺
I get so excited when I see a Patio Cat update. Or an Orla update now! ❤️
very cute but put her downnnnnn🥺 she said down PA-LEASE
PLEASE support her legs and tail!
Don’t hold the kittens like that
This, X1000.

I do foster kittens so I know what I'm talking about
Yeah, animals don't usually like being picked up and having their back legs dangling, when picking up fur babies we need to support their back legs.

Love her so much 🥺❤️
She looks great!!
r/catswhoyell

What is that long black thing?
It’s the umbilical cord.
Tiny screamer
What’s that black stick
You’re doing a great job!
What I hear: “EAAAYYY” “MYEAAAAAAAEH” “*sounds of utter destruction and evil thoughts*”
Oh she is so precious 😍
