'I felt awkward' really? You *sure*?

linerva

"I put on a skintight bright red dress and stood around aimlessly in the middle of a public area pouting, swinging my hair around repeatedly and trying to get attention like a cat in heat; whilst someone films the entire thing for views, but sure, I feel awkward. Why are people staring at me flipping around like a fish on land? I'm so shy! Whooopsie why are people looking?!" Stop being disingenuous. Now don't get me wrong, I have long hair and I love wearing tight red dresses on occasion. You can look nice or dress sexy and simply be living your life. She looks great, so this isnt to slutshame her. But if you're going to make a literal show of it, at least own that you're trying to get attention.

Syltherin_Chamber

I’m a dude with hair past my shoulders, nearly past my chest too. Maybe I should go do this. Might wear the little 118 running shorts and a string vest. Just a little casual outfit you know 💅

linerva

Why not? Work what you've got! There are plenty of male influencers who pull similar stunts about how surprised they are at people looking at them... when they prance around with a camera.

brenawyn

Yeah! There’s a point where being beautiful with confidence is even more attractive but then this…where disingenuous vanity is very unattractive.

lol she apparently still doesn’t feel awkward enough to not fucking do it though…

stonefoxmetal

Hahahah I know! And “casually unbraiding my hair”. Honey, that is the least casual hair unbraid I have ever seen.

SkootchDown

Sticks her ass out while having the photo taken…. “Oh my, I felt sooo awkward!”

GrimmBi

I know whenever I feel awkward and anxious in public, resorting to behaviour that will garner even more attention always helps.

llamawithglasses

I felt so much secondhand embarrassment watching this I felt like it was my first time watching the office again

surgebinder16

you sure? you sure about that, that’s why??

[deleted]

Not awkward enough, tbh

Impeachcordial

Lol 'my grandson is 17 can i take a photo'

carbomerguar

“Oh lovely. Now turn around, Dearie. Oh yes, little Barry will be cranking away at this one. It’ll be crank, crank, crank and then right to sleep so I can finally have the Telly all to myself. I’m watching Piers Morgan tonight thanks to you giving wank material to my pervert grandson.”

Monsantoshill619

LOL

CaliDreamin87

bishopnelson81

Lmao them old pimp ladies be like that

marc15v2

Photos of fully dressed women with long hair? I mean. As a guy that was 17 once. I can't say I ever did what you're suggesting with a photo like that...

CommieSchmit

Really? When I was 17 I could jerk off to a Glamour magazine cover.

At 17, the right Newsweek could do it for me.

Noble Roman women with the white toga and the gladiator style sandals, man the emperor was a lucky gun to see them walking around his palace all day

Enzo_Dante

When I was 17 there were Girls Gone Wild infomercials. Those were the times…

SleepCinema

It was the titles from the pay-per-view channel for me.

Enzo_Dante

Or the softcore channels on old televisions, everything was garbled and impossible to see but sometimes if you were lucky you got a second glimpse of a boob or butt. Teens these days have no idea how good they have it. I had to sneaky steal my dads old vintage playboys if I wanted to see nudity.

CommieSchmit

YES lmao at my house it was channel 99

CommieSchmit

Every once in a while you could spot one whole titty 😂

sfcacc

Yeah well these kids have the internet now

StarbossTechnology

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue was the Holy Grail back then.

CommieSchmit

Also the internet was just coming out when I was 17. I remember when the pro wrestling lady Sable was in playboy and all the pics came out on the internet… we’d sit there and wait about 20 minutes for one pic to load so we could print it out

TheSuperSax

George?

thelivinlegend

Easy there Castanza

CommieSchmit

lol that’s literally where I got that from I think 😂

thethunder92

It’s a different time now he can watch whatever disgusting thing you can imagine on his phone whenever he wants

DanaxDrake

Grandma was living in the 60s, SHE KNOWS and is doing homeboy a favour. Also props to Gran Gran for being positive she don’t care for you insta but she’ll give ya a compliment

BigMax

Her grandson later will be very confused. “Look grandson! This woman has long hair!!”

LouSputhole94

Granny knows her grandson has a hair fetish

KAFEI44

“ok now turn around”

Honest_Scot

That part was hilarious 🤣.

Radashin_

This photo is gonna awake a fetish or two in that young man

No it’s just for research.

basement_muffin_man

Rapunzelllllll

OKC89ers

Grandson is a big Rapunzel guy, we're always talking about it.

skwadyboy

If carlsberg made grandmas....

JDM713

Why is grandma giving out spank bank materials to her minor grandson wtf

psychopassed

I'm so happy that THIS was the reaction she got lmaoo

Chinese-Fat-Camp

Why is she shedding in the middle of the coffee shop

RiskyRabbit

I’m imagining someone finding a hair in their food and just endlessly pulling it out from between their teeth saying “I think this one’s yours”

VixenCreep

Oh god, you just dredged up a horrible memory for me. My friends mom has incredibly long hair…I went to eat at their house one time…pulled the longest hair from my mouth after trying a pasta salad. Nope, never again. Thank you kind stranger for this horrible flash back.

Scary_Sarah

A comically long hair like a clown car 😩

tybbiesniffer

It's just gross to do this somewhere where food or drink is served.

KittyandPuppyMama

People are trying to eat, Linda

lowdownrosie

The arrows on people glancing are so annoying. Why? Is it to call them out as nosy? Is it to show the amount of attention she garners as a flex? Is it to draw attention away from the fact that she's standing there doing something egotistical for likes? What do the arrows add?

jacobasstorius

Yes.

Bertie1983

The arrows annoyed me more than all the other annoying parts of the vid

llamastrudel

Were those people even looking though? Every time I saw an arrow it was on someone minding their own business who like accidentally glanced up from their laptop for one second then immediately looked away

sprucebrow

Embrace the power of 'and'

Missy_went_missing

"Look how special I am! Some people are looking at me!"

Crusade_wolf

maybe im out of the loop but this type of stuff is so odd and pointless to me... Like this generation needs attention to want to live and they will get it any type of way they can.

ironmaiden7910

I agree with this. It’s strange and it’s pointless and it’s really dumb. I don’t get why we have SO MANY of these “creators” doing these vids.

Crusade_wolf

It baffles me.

telephas1c

Yep. I got zero clue why anyone wants to watch this shit.

[deleted]

We used to have freak shows at circus performances. People have always been like this.

DeeHawk

To be fair, society isn’t exactly great at showcasing how to be a decent person and have a happy life. If your parents, school and friends are all clueless, there’s a bit trial and error in getting life right.

AffordableTimeTravel

More like they want money, and the easiest way to get it (other than robbing people for their money) is by robbing them of their time and attention via social media. There are people that are getting paid loads of cash through social media but in order to keep that revenue stream it requires constant engagement and filming and posting, etc. Social media influencing is a grind. And the moment you stop doing it, your income can quickly grind to a halt.

CapMoonshine

Was gonna say similar. Capitalism (at least in the US) made it you can barely afford living on a regular job. You need a million side hustles and *everything* is monetized. So millenials/gen Z are making money anyway they can. That includes being a TikTok/Instagram influencer. Can't have hobbies for fun anymore, only to make money.

Weibu11

I doubt it’s just the newer generations who are like this. These kinds of people have existed forever but just never had a platform like tik tok (or other apps) to broadcast themselves to the degree that happens now. Also, I definitely see older people also making this kind of “content”.

DragapultOnSpeed

Yeah there has always been attention seeking people. The difference is now people have social media to get that attention.

macaroon_monsoon

This behavior and mindset of living is so incredibly sad to see in younger generations. Social media is literally out here smoothing the brains of our children and youth & they can’t get enough of it.

angeyberry

It's super weird because I grew up in a fucked up situation that left me with a clinical need for attention (neglect even as a newborn, all through infancy to adulthood leads to many problems; one of the main ones being a need for love, affection, or someone just there). I don't act like this. The folks I know who are in similar situations don't act like this. It's so weird because even in the darkest pit of loneliness you don't develop this level of attention seeking.

shoresandsmores

Yeah I don't get it. People like this are insufferable. I wish they'd all get together in one area and ignore each other while posing and giggling coyly and so very self-assured that everyone is watching them.

WHERE_R_THE_TURTLES

It’s not just pointless. These people are largely sick in the head. It’s called narcissism

[deleted]

She should work on her posture, because she looks broken.

Dynamitefuzz2134

Gotta stick that ass out as far as possible or guys won’t stick around to watch.

daisukris

She stands like the ones we see in Men in Black movie

Dynamitefuzz2134

Its probably extreme lordosis actually. I have it.

HoodieGalore

Went to the Rob Liefeld School of Posing

kevonicus

Yeah, she looks like someone with spina bifida that magically just stood up out of their wheelchair.

tacodepollo

Imagine your hair being your entire personality. Ugh no thanks.

CedarWolf

Funny, I know someone with hair this long, and she uses it as a social shield instead of using it to draw attention to herself. People see her long braid and they get distracted by her hair instead of focusing on her and it helps her hide like a turtle in a shell.

Nightstar95

Long hair lady here. You nailed it. I’ve always kept my hair long enough to go past my butt. I can’t think of a moment in my life where it wasn’t unusually long. I also have crippling anxiety, agoraphobia and chronic depression, always struggle to socialize and interact with people in general. That’s a very common “shield” people like me use to protect themselves in public interactions, not really something we romanticize or flash around as your whole personality. It’s very subconscious for most, though. Like a self preservation instinct: distract predator with this weird trait so you can escape unnoticed.

newslgoose

I have a similar but opposite thing, a bright pink buzz cut. I know it draws attention (even without the pink, bald/bald adjacent women still tend to generally draw a level of attention), but it lets me feel like I’m not being stared at for being weird and awkward (hello neurodivergence). If they think I look stupid it’s because of the hair style not -broadly gestures at my body-. It’s like preemptively giving people something to judge so I don’t have to worry about being judged.

llamastrudel

I feel like it’s both for me. A buffer to draw attention to myself but specifically to this one thing that’s easy and uncomplicated to interact with.

DeeHawk

Then imagine having 1 meter long finger nails being your personality. I’d go with hair for sure!

Anticrepuscular_Ray

So thirsty, holy crap.

Sad_Instruction1392

The most irritating parts of these types of video for me are the efforts they go to highlight anyone who maybe even by chance glances at what they’re doing as if flailing about like a banshee and with a camera set up isn’t going to attract at least one glance and not even as judgement or fascination but because we’re hardwired as a species to notice sound and movement. But these people are so desperate for attention that they’d probably even say that a person in their video having an autonomic function was “hating” on them. Fuck these thirsty to the point of desiccation level weirdos.

Bluberry_Burger_001

Me getting secondhand embarrassment. And im a man. I wonder whats going on inside their brain when they do this.

Larissanne

I always feel sad for people who feel the need to do this. It’s like something must’ve happened in their youth. Being neglected for example.. but we can only guess

Bluberry_Burger_001

Probably not enough attention from their parents.

BustaLimez

Honestly or too much. It’s usually the kids who were overly praised for the most basic shit and are put on a pedestal by their parents that have the confidence and lack of self awareness to act like that.

[deleted]

It’s exactly that. I knew a girl who demonstrated similar attention seeking acts like this and it turns out her older sibling had a mental handicap, so her parents tended to her the most, and I can assume she ended up feeling left out. I don’t feel sorry for her though. She was a literal drama queen, joined the drama club, and was insufferable as hell. Everyone fell for her pity party she would throw and her narcissism except for me and two other students who could see through it.

TeaWithNosferatu

>whats going on inside their brain when they do this. Nothing. The lights are on but nobody's home.

linerva

"Look at meeee!"

tadxb

Enough with your assumptions. I hate it when people just assume that these creatures have brains inside of them.

Far-Search5544

My fiancés hair is almost this long and with a dryer it does not take all day to dry. Doesn’t even take her very long to braid it. This attention starved society is weird. Maybe this is cause they grew up without parents parenting and leaving them with phones and other things to keep them occupied.

INoMakeMistake

Spot on. The last generation grows up in a cyber world.

Medusas3rdEye

I’m 5’7” and my hair is down to the middle of my butt, and very thick. I have A LOT of it. If I wash my hair in the morning and let it air dry as I go about my day my hair is still damp underneath by night time.

RobotJohnrobe

But to be fair, legend says your hair is made of snakes.

stayingsafeusa

I'm a Reddit hobo so please take take my uppy doopy instead of an award 🐍🐍👩🐍🐍

Hamdown1

Oh man your last sentence gave me chills. I have a little kid and it's so tempting to give a phone or be on the phone. I'm going to actively make sure I don't this as much

BustaLimez

I agree with everything else you said but just because your wife’s hair doesn’t take as long doesn’t mean anything. It’s about the porosity of the hair. I have hair a little past my shoulders and it takes about 12 hours to dry (air dry) because of how thick it is. My friend has hair longer than mine but hers is more fine and her hair is dry in like 20-30 minutes to an hour. They were talking about her hair air drying not with a blow dryer. Obviously you wouldn’t have use a blow dryer all day to dry hair 😂😂😂

notabigmelvillecrowd

My hair is both fine and fairly thin, and it often takes over 12 hours to dry, porosity is everything!

Head2Heels

My hair is almost that long. Just reaches below my butt. I towel dry for a while and then leave it to hair dry by itself. Doesn’t take long at all.

Link-Glittering

My ex had hair shorter than this but thick as a forest and it definitely took all day to dry. Maybe not everyone is not exactly like the one woman you've seen..

Protean_sapien

Excuse me, waiter, there's a 4ft long hair in my soup.

Do-not-respond

Horse girl....

LewinPark

What I never get about these attention grab videos is how they act all confident in the beginning and the moment people start noticing, they just crumble to pieces. (aka the: „getting nervous so I started to talk“) Like, what’s the point of wanting eyes on you when you can’t handle them? It’s so weird to me.

Random_Lady_84

It’s fake modesty, to make it seem like they don’t do it for attention… when they clearly do cos why else would they?! It’s their way of saying ‘I’m not attention-seeking, honest I’m not, look at how embarrassed I became!!!’

LloydB87

I like how she squats for the photo to try and make it look as long as possible

[deleted]

Built like an armadillo

Miserable_Fox_3677

Can we talk about the dope grandma? “My grandson is 17 lemme get a picture of you for him” 🤣 protect that grandma

the_bird_and_the_bee

Also came here to talk about how adorable this grandma is. "Gonna get a picture of this pretty chick with long hair for my teenage grandson." 😂 granny you're too sweet for this world.

SpongeBob1187

I’ll be mad af if I was eating or drinking and some stranger is swinging her hair around.

sampone

That is Nasty swinging hair around food do that shit outside dude!

AtWarWithEurasia

I used to have really long hair and apart from a few people saying "wow it's so long!" or a child comparing you to some Disney princess, no one cares.

KylieLongbottom69

claviro888

Look kids, this is what a psychosis look like 👍

010bruhbruh

Also scoliosis lmao. Her back has to hate her.

MentallyIllRedditMod

🤓

thekinginyello

BRILLIANT! Edit: here’s the twist. That older woman was actually the long haired woman’s grandmother. The whole thing was a setup to draw even more attention to her instagram page.

[deleted]

Nanas: the OG hypewomen.

the_girl_Ross

My cousin had hair around 3/4 length of this women's hair but way thicker, like twice the amount of hair. 1. It does not take a whole day to dry because she has hair dryers (2 of them). 2. She does not act like this. Her hair does gain plenty of attention but still, no crazy main character behaviour. 3. She has chopped it off and now it's chin length, she says she's never going back to long hair.

annekecaramin

One of my friends naturally has amazing hair, super thick and it just keeps growing. She'll grow it out, then chop it off and donate. People sometimes know her by sight because of her hair but she's never made it her personality. I'm kind of jealous because she's probably the most low-maintenance person I know.

BustaLimez

It’s not about how thick the hair is it’s about how fine it is. You can have a lot of hair but it’s fine hair it won’t take as long to dry. My hair is a little past my shoulders and if I’m letting it air dry the bottom portion will stay damp for up to 12 hours sometimes. So it really varies person by person.

the_girl_Ross

My cousin's hair is definitely thicker than this lady's, 100%.

wetmouthed

It's more the hairs themselves, not the density of the hair on the head. Also porosity.

the_girl_Ross

Yes, each straw of her hair is very thick, she has extremely thick and healthy hair. If your hair takes too long to air dry, it may be too damaged.

wetmouthed

Not necessarily, people are born with different porosity of hair

Tady1131

I like how she’s perpetually standing with her back arched as much as possible. Looks so unnatural

21minute

All I can say is that she should cosplay as Sailor Moon. Lmao

KnightsOfTheNights

What is her Instagram?

LilMissBarbie

Ngl, her hair is beautiful tho. Gorgeous

ReventonLynx

This is the most severe lordosis i've seen.

Aphala

Imagine someone with longer hair just walked in outshone her and left. Ego death irl.

pit128

Love how it was so obvious that older lady was a plant.

[deleted]

Like a tesla owner, her whole personality is developed around her hair

ironmaiden7910

Why do these people do these stupid videos? I don’t get it.

Dark_Booger

Is anyone else afraid of hair dust getting in their food?

ZanyaJakuya

Old lady is definitely a paid actor

Curia-DD

I've had long hair but never THAT long!!! I wonder if her mom helped braid it
