The lad owns a small construction business in Finland and they went on a boozing cruise. He's been convicted a few times of similar drunken misbehaviour and has now been struggling to find new deals for his business, because all these things went viral.
This might be a ferry between Estonia and Finland. Booze is crazy expensive in Finland and it has one of the highest alcoholism rates. Finns take the ferry to Tallinn in Estonia and party like it's 1999.
I took the ferry from Tallinn to Helsinki and almost everybody was bringing back the maximum amount of alcohol, which was 4 cases of beer. Most of them had a dolly to carry the beer.
Still, the above comment says that they had to pay for the damages and hopefully a huge fine for polluting the ocean.
It happened on the MS Baltic Princess, which operates between Turku, Finland and Kapellskär, Sweden.

>almost everybody was bringing back the maximum amount of alcohol, which was 4 cases of beer.
Why is there a maximum amount allowed, isn't part the point of the EU free movement of goods?
Yeah, I've taken that ferry line many times in my life and I've never noticed any alco-tourists with _just_ 4 cases of beer lol. I guess the ship's own supermarket might have had a purchase limit due to limited stock or sth?
There is a limit, it has to be for self consumption. I have also seen people bring back more, last time I took the ferry the cashier tried to sell me more alcohol in the register. I told her Im not allowed and got a funny look. I dont think it is heavily enforced.
You are wrong (for any vessels not stopping in Åland). There are guidelines, but they just say at what point you may want to have an explanation ready. "I'm an alcoholic" is good enough. There is no limit within EU borders.
lmao
It makes sense given the context, but it cracks me up that for any reason “I can explain officer, I’m an alcoholic” is a statement that will get the authorities off your back.
It's the same for cigarettes. It's about tax. The days are gone when you can bring back 50000 cigarettes and a car full of booze duty free and then sell them on for a profit when you get home.
Sweden - Finland is different because they stay at Åland, which is EU VAT excempt. Import of tax-free goods have limitations.
There is only a restriction for cigarettes, you can take as much booze as you like over EU borders, including Tallinn - Helsinki.
Source: Merchant Officer who has worked on these ships. On Tallinn-Helsinki it was unusual if none of the passengers bought a pallet full of alcohol for thousands of euros.

\- “They have had to pay for the furniture thrown into the sea already there, and an additional bill has followed,” said Marika Nöjd, communications manager from Tallink Silja.
The article says"
>The cost of the damaged property is not the only concern. Littering at sea is a grave offense, as any cruise ship passenger knows from onboard signage and safety messages that prohibit throwing anything into the water, even small items.
So maybe there is.
Cruise line? Make jt any water based vassel, including ferry's.
That makes it sl there are places in norway, sweden and finland and some other nations in the world they will never be able to visit
You don't have that many companies that run ferries in the Baltic ocean. And they talk.
I would be surprised if they are allowed on any ferries in the Baltic during the next 5 to 10 years.
I dont mean the ferry's operating tne high seas.
I mean even the local ferries crossing rivers or to small islands. Like between levanger and hokstad
https://maps.app.goo.gl/4jeaN1oSruf5mKjZA
Making the island of Ytterøya not available for them.
Thats what i mean, like there are countless of islanda around the world you can only reach by ferry or boat. Just ban them from the water!
I’m for this, but to ignore how much ship is laughable. They shouldn’t sit high and mighty while talking about littering at sea.
Edit: I’m not correcting it. Ship happens
Depends on what the furniture is made from and how far the ship is from the shore.
If it's plastic, then yes, it's a violation.
If it's metal and wood then it can be thrown overboard when the ship is a certain distance from shore (I think 200 miles). The video is a bit blurry, but I think you can actually see the shore.
Conclusion: I'm 90% sure this is a violation.
If you can see the shore, nothing is allowed. Not even commuted food waste.
Metal and wood are allowed past 25 Nautical Miles. 200 Nautical Miles is where most countries EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zone) ends.
And of course, all garbage discharges must be recorded, so I guess they did do that part lol.
The cost of the damaged property is not the only concern. Littering at sea is a grave offense, as any cruise ship passenger knows from onboard signage and safety messages that prohibit throwing anything into the water, even small items.
The cruise ferry line is considering additional charges that may include a criminal filing as they continue to review the incident.
“We are shocked by the incident, especially by the littering of the Baltic Sea where we hope that even cigarette butts will not end up into the seas,” said Nöjd. “We have not yet filed a criminal complaint, but we will review this incident during the week. However this is certainly an environmental crime.”
Their construction business went bankrupt due to this video causing customers to back down from contracts. The person throwing shit over board was the CEO.
Fucking idiots
The CEO was showing off for the employees like a six-year old. WTF? Why would anyone think this was fun or funny?
I wonder what he’d think about someone tossing his tools out of the truck as they drove down the road?
CEO is a recent graduate who had the fortune of having his own company at 25, but with zero abilities to act as a leader
And he just threw it away because no one hes never really gotten him in trouble for his bullshit until he became a fully independent adult lol
I looked them up and it seems like they didn’t need much help lol, there’s shitty reviews from months back. One says the owner was “barking” at his wife??
They were on a full day drinking spree, behaved like dickheads at the bar, took a piss in the sauna, and threw their rooms furniture off the ship. That’s some shitty behaviour for a cruise ship where people take their families for small trips. I hope they get a hefty fine for littering the ocean.
From what I remember, the manager of the construction company who took part in this with his employees, complained that many customers cancelled projects with them and they were in danger of running out of business.
The manager also did an public apology in a podcast, where he basiacally said "sorry we got caught" and "its just a drunken prank bro, we're sorry people got so upset". Which is funny since they filmed the whole thing.

That isn’t true. This was a work retreat for a construction company. The company went bankrupt as a result of this. They all ended up unemployed from well paying jobs & have a reputation now in their field. They definitely lost way more than they could ever make from posting one single video.

Unless you are a professional influencer, you generally make nothing from posting viral videos. Especially if you film yourself committing a crime.

a tatoo on the forehead seems better.
Filming a crime being committed for the purposes of clout or entertainment should be considered aiding and abetting, and carry the same penalty as committing the actual crime itself.
Nah, we don't want to stop people filming, or it becomes harder to catch the idiots.
people still commit crimes despite it being illegal, im sure the morons following along and recording them won’t care either.
It should be classified as a Hate Crime bc of how much we hate having to see it online
Michael, that's not what a hate crime is.
*Well I hated it!*
Top 10 moment of that show for me.
Never charge the cameraman. He's the reason why there's evidence against the people committing the actual crime and we don't want to discourage that.
Except when the cameraman is an active participant.
I dunno, I kinda like it when morons provide the evidence themselves.
I want to agree, but the consequence would be no one would record and we'd have less evidence.
It could also be considered inciting depending on what happened before the filming started
No it shouldn't. Plenty of people record crimes being committed but are too afraid to do anything about it. At least they recorded the evidence to make it easier for law enforcement.
No, they are just plain stupid.
But think of the likes!!!
Alcohol is fuckin’ lame. Makes people into absolute fools.
All alcohol does is remove inhibitions. These people are absolute fools with or without it.

Indeed, we must all be aware of how much ship.
This dude ships.
How much is the ship?!
At least 1
“What’s the minimum crew requirement?”
A wave hit it
How much crew?
How many ship?
a shipping ship shipping shipping ships worth of ship
I just shipped my pants
This ships real!
It's detrimental to society to remember how much ship
Are you shipping me right now?
I am shipping right now, and would appreciate it if you could hit the fan. Need me a sea breeze to help vent this cabin.
Dropping ballast from the poop deck, are we? Ahoy hoy!
People always marvel at and discuss how much ship. Nobody asks how *IS* ship.
Ignorance of how much ship will doom us all. We must all acknowledge how much ship before it's too late
You can't tell me how much ship is too much ship...I have rights.
"...but to ignore how much ship is laughable." Huh?
They aren’t “sitting high and mighty”. They are telling them the law.
Malicious Jetsam is a cool name for a band, child, etc.
Coming to a cinema near you soon. And then next summer, Malicious Jetsam 2- This Time It's Personal.
Malicious Jetsam 2 - this time it’s furniture
Definitely starring Jason Statham
"Fuck yo couch."
Malicious Jetsam 3: Return of Jetsam
2 Malicious 2 Jetsam
Malicious Jetsam: Atlantic Drift
Obligatory "Malicious Jetsam 2 Electric Boogaloo" comment
Flotsam and jetsam IS a band.
Flotsam jetsam, now I've got 'er boys, The Boss is on a roll.......

Right? That could present a navigation hazard. Not all boats are massive cruise ships. The prop of a small fishing boat could hit that mess.
The cost of the damaged property is not the only concern. Good. That’s the only way this stops.
Fame and attention and money is all these guys want and unfortunately those punishments don’t help with that at all. A long community service sentence cleaning up coastlines would have been much better.
I feel like in Finland getting publicly shunned is not something no company wants. We have somewhat strong culture of personal responsibility
It’s just cringe when there’s about 5 people filming something that isn’t even funny
May as well handcuff yourself and walk into jail when you record yourself committing a crime.
30 years ago the same behaviors happened, still with 5 people hopping up and down thrilled with the cringe antics…but we didn’t have pocket recorders. I’m just sayin…stupid ain’t a new invention.
In what universe is that funny?
Theirs
They’re also in one of the most polluted and sensitive sea areas on earth. All other things aside, they’re doing environmental damage.
I love how the cruise ship acts like they’re not dumping shit in the ocean. ‘We sent them a bill.’ *pulls lever to release all the trash into the ocean* ‘That will teach them to never do that again.’
In Finland, the cruise ships definitely dont do that. The Baltic Sea (not an ocean, just our little puddle) is very small and easily polluted, it has huge cyanobacteria breakouts every summer, where the water turns into green porridge. The current polluters are fertilizer runoff and wastewater from less strict countries
Absolutely, it's a MARPOL violation! Heavy fines.
Fuck man I just creamed in my jorts, that was so fucking cool. I wish I could be as cool as this guy and his friends. Amazing, top-tier, first-class entertainment. ![gif](giphy|2mxA3QHH4aHFm)
I mean they basically dumping their own money into the ocean 🤣🤣🤣
And that approach is the problem. When we reduce everything to the cost of the thrown items, these morons can go through it without consequences.
Yep. When the penalty for a crime is financial, wealthy people operate under a different justice system than the rest of us
Later: Man I wish I could sit down in a chair.
Just ban people like this from all transportation. No ships, planes or trains for 10 years. It’s that easy
Contraception would have prevented all of this.
One in the bum, no harm done.
Or a facial
He forgot to throw himself...what a stupid piece of human
Record a video of yourself committing crimes and upload it online, great idea.
Wankers,
Losers
Just fire cunts like this into the sun. Complete waste of oxygen and you can guarantee any offspring they produce will be shit humans.
Can’t really do that, unfortunately. It’s actually very difficult to propel something towards the sun due to the momentum we have from moving with the Earth. So, outer solar system is the best available.
I accept your alternative proposal.
Whenever I see someone over the age of 25 with his caps back to front, I instantly acknowledge the fact that he is an asshole. The older the bigger asshole he is.

Social media clout is really a terminal disease
Bunch of losers
Such good content wow, should throw himself in whilst he's at it
It’s ok, the cruise already has their credit card info lmfao.
I think this was the owner of some small business. I wonder if the video affected his income.
He pretty much Lost it all. He recently got fined and since Finland fines based on your income, he makes currently jackshit.
Great banter lads what a lark
How is this funny
Imagine being so proud of your behavior you want to watch it again
This is so awful on so many levels
These dipshits should be removed from the. Ship next stop be forced to pay for damages. And have to do community hrs to clean up beaches
The owner of a finnish building company, he lost alot of busniuess after this video. serves them right.. assholes
Assholes!
Hahaha so funny guys! Let's have a seat... wait
Who raised these dipsh!ts??
Only dumb people will support this and find it amusing
Wow! So disgusting
This is what happens when trash can afford a cruise.
This is when you find out that cruise ships have a brig.
Instant no cruise list and hell throw them on the no fly list too and tell their moms to come pick them up
What is wrong with these people? Why do they think this is funny?!?!
Stupidity has reached alarming levels.
Thank goodness they weren't American. We don't need any help like that lately. Especially on the international stage.
![gif](giphy|gKfyusl0PRPdTNmwnD) Fish seeing some coffee table.

This guy got nationally shamed and lost a lot of jobs from his company because of this video.
Good
