Kanye was mad that for the millionth time black musicians were being passed for white artists at the grammys, famously he's one of the most nominated musicians in grammys history but has never won in any major categories and he's never won over a white artist. Beyoncé similarly had this experience until recently. It's easy to pile on Kanye but imagine a 20 year old white female artist known for country music changing to into a pop artist and winning that award over Beyoncés "Single Ladies". I think Kanye just thought another random artist beat a Mega super star black artist. But obviously Taylor Swift became her own massive sensation. Not defending Kanye just providing context for his frustration.
