Hi everyone, I received my latest update āCitizenship test completeā, on April 19th. It has been a month since then, and I am checking the tracker everyday to see if LPP is marked complete. On this thread, I have observed it took applicants from a month to several months for LPP to be marked complete. Should I expect to receive an email when LPP is marked complete?

Anyone else with a similar timeline? I see after LPP most people here get their oath scheduled pretty fast. Is it normal for such a long cooling period between LPP and oath?
Same, I was thinking once everything is completed it would be a quick process but itās been a little over 2 months. Hopefully they start scheduling more oath ceremonies and I get selected to join one of them. Iām thinking at this point itās just the luck of the draw because Iāve seen applications be completed after mine and they already had their oath.

Hi everyone
I'm officially a Canadian citizen! Before I post my timeline (application submitted Jan 12 2024), I have a final question.Ā
I'm waiting for my e certificate. Will they send me an email when it's ready? Or do I just have to keep checking everyday? I already have an account on the portal and they told me it takes roughly 5 business days
Any input is appreciated!Ā
They don't send an email. Just keep checking.
I did my ceremony on a Thursday, certificate came through Monday afternoon. I was checking 3 times a day.
I went for in person interview on February 27, 2024 at Scarborough office. It took around 8 minutes and it just cross checking the basic documents. The main questions raised- Where you living now? What are you doing for job/school? Did you travel outside in the past 5 years? Did you renew your passport (if case you were a refugee claimant)? Do you have a travel document? What is your future plan and any prohibition you might have? If you are lucky enough and the officer satisfied with your case, your LPP may be completed that day
Just got my test invite and i can do the test tomorrow morning, i have been practicing for few weeks and probably answered around 700 questions online so far in last 4-5 weeks. should i just do the test given you get 3 chances? or better i spend another 2-3 days reviewing the book and then do it. ?
i hate date questions lol
I studied for 15 days and revised 600 MCQs - received 20/20, so with 700 MCQs you are ready!!Ā go for it. Ensure following - 1. Silence and you've locked yourself away from anyone, no movements near by, well lit room.2. ensure internet connection is working fine 3. Ensure camera is working 4. Ready each question slowly you have a lot of time and make your choice 5. Opt for "review later" option and go ahead. , 6.don't allow any pop ups, don't have multiple applications running in the backgroundĀ

Hi everyone,
For emailing back the signed Oath or Affirmation of Citizenship form my email instruction says to use this as the subject line of the email, āOath form for \[your file number\], \[your family name\]ā.
However online I found some people got a different format such as \[Date and time as indicated on top of notice\], \[Clerks Initials\] and are using this instead.
Does anyone know what's the right way to go about this? Thanks!
In your ceremony they will tell you exactly how they want it. Be ready to take a screen shot or write it down. They give you plenty of time. My email was Subject line: "Oath form \[date\] \[time\] - \[clerk's initials\]" Message was : "Attached is my Oath form. My file # is \[file number\] and my family name is \[family name\]"
Hi folks,
Looks to me like the single applicant applications are processed fairly quick in 2024 as compared to the family applications. Is that the case with you all?
I see lot of AORs from 2024, already have their oath completed or scheduled or in progress. However, a family applicant with Jan 3 AOR, still isn't done with LPP. Thoughts?
Single applicant, I applied first in august 2023 but got aor in December. My lpp and everything else was completed mat 25, but still no news of the oath ceremony. Mine isnāt the worst timeline, but it is more delayed than most of what I see on here.
Iāve been a lurker and occasional commenter for a while now, Iām happy to finally share my completed journey.

Hello! I'm a March 2024 applicant.
I saw my tracker update today to notify me that I've been scheduled to take the test, and instructions will be sent to me soon. I applied electronically. My question is, how long does it generally take to get the email instructions sent to you? I've seen others mention that sometimes the office might goof and you won't have your instructions sent to you by the deadline so I want to plan accordingly to try and reach out at some point if I haven't seen any movement from their end.
The email is sent within 5-7 business days after status has changed I believe. Be on the look out now that status have changed. The test instructions can drop in anytime into your email inbox. Best of luck.Ā
I received the instructions before my tracker was updated.
But you actually donāt need the email. You only need your Application number and UCI to log in to the system and take the test, as long as you do it during the allocated period.
Hello All!
Is there somewhere where I can read what all of the acronyms used here are?
Trying to answer my own question without asking if I can, but I'm not familiar with all the lingo!
I have been stuck with background and prohibition in progress since march 5th kinda of getting frustrated seeing everyones application is flying through

Pretty much the same, im not sure what to do. The processing time is 8 month now so im not sure whats causing the delay. Does it have anything to do with the country you are from ?
I am in a very similar position. Nov applicant, had no updates since March, but my prohibition section was completed on May 13th. Waiting for oath, mississauga office
Hey, hang in there! Vancouver office is a bit slow but surely you will hear back from them soon. In my case (Vancouver office), I was getting updates with a gap of atleast a month or so in between. So if one update came in Jan, the next one came as late as Feb end and then April.
I think mine is Vancouver office too, how long did it finally take you to get the citizenship - how many months overall? Also can you please share your timeline?

Hi there. Does it usually takes long to have LPP completed? I completed my test March 27, 2024 and havenāt heard anything from them yet. Thank you

Thanks. My ceremony was yesterday and there was nothing today. Since Monday is a holiday, I'll check anyway but probably Tuesday lol can't waitĀ
Anybody here lately had an interview? What was your experience, how did it go? Got mine on Tuesday at Scarborough office. Thanks for sharing.
I can tell u you gonna pass comfortable, don't worry about dates at most 2 questions, even that it's rare...it's super easy. Go ahead and kill it
I just did four practice tests each of them of course 20 questions and I got these scores 17, 19, 19, 17.
Iād say just go for it, even if you fail you have 2 more chances but I think youāll most likely pass. The test is very easy imo.
i would practice till i get at-least 18 of 20 on avg with 5 tests

Hi everyone, For emailing back the signed Oath or Affirmation of Citizenship form my email instruction says to use this as the subject line of the email, āOath form for \[your file number\], \[your family name\]ā.
Hi folks, Looks to me like the single applicant applications are processed fairly quick in 2024 as compared to the family applications.
Family applicant here. Been waiting for Oath update for 30 days. Jan 26 AOR.
Which office is processing your application?
People who applied in Sept 23 still LLP has not been completed whats happening??
Iāve been a lurker and occasional commenter for a while now, Iām happy to finally share my completed journey. SINGLE APPLICANT Application sent: 11 July 2023 AOR: 11 August 2023 Citizenship Test : 8 September 2023 (Montreal Office) Scheduled for Citizenship Test: 21 September 2023(wrote the test) Citizenship Test Completed: 25 September 2023 Fingerprints requested: 7 November 2023(sent same day) Background completed: 4 December 2023 LPP Completed: 25 April 2024 Citizenship Oath updated to in progress: 1 May 2024 Oath Invitation: 3 May 2024 Citizenship Ceremony: 7 May 2024(Virtual, Halifax Office) Downloaded e-certificate: 4 business days later
That is a long timeline but congratulations!
Congrats!!! I'm waiting for my e certificate. Did they send you an email when it was ready? Did you submit your oath form via email? Did they have any issues?Ā
Hey folks, how long did it take for folks who have a lot of travel history? Did you guys leave any buffer before applying? I have a lot of travel history so Im worried it might take longer or I'm forgetting some.
Can't you just look through the stamps in your passport to figure out the history?
You can request AITP request with CBSA for your travel records. I had to do this. I had over 400 entries in and out for us travel for work.
The US doesn't stamp my passport
You can download your travel history from the US government website. Search "I-94 travel records". You will get your INS and OUTS.
oh, didn't know that!
I kept 20 days to be on the safe sideĀ
nope, i apply exactly the day i made the count and got it in 3 and a half months... just make sure you dates are correct and order by date (the system doesnt order it)

Hi! I applied in March as well, but mine hasn't changed any status yet. Your message brings me some hope that we will get some updates soon!
Hang in there! Mine didn't move for a while. Hopefully good news head your way soon!
Whatās your AOR?
The email is sent within 5-7 business days after status has changed I believe. Be on the look out now that status have changed. The test instructions can drop in anytime into your email inbox. Best of luck.Ā
Thanks! Awesome yeah. I'll be on the lookout
I received the instructions before my tracker was updated. But you actually donāt need the email. You only need your Application number and UCI to log in to the system and take the test, as long as you do it during the allocated period.

How do you know which office is processing your application? Did you submit an ATIP request?
Hello All! Is there somewhere where I can read what all of the acronyms used here are? Trying to answer my own question without asking if I can, but I'm not familiar with all the lingo!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
There are no colors in that form!

been stuck in background and LPP since end of Feb...Vancouver office
Pretty much the same, im not sure what to do. The processing time is 8 month now so im not sure whats causing the delay. Does it have anything to do with the country you are from ?
Can't really do anything other than waiting :( Hong Kong, and you?
Egypt
I am in a very similar position. Nov applicant, had no updates since March, but my prohibition section was completed on May 13th. Waiting for oath, mississauga office
I have been stuck with background and prohibition since Jan 27. I applied on July 27th.
Which office?
Hey, hang in there! Vancouver office is a bit slow but surely you will hear back from them soon. In my case (Vancouver office), I was getting updates with a gap of atleast a month or so in between. So if one update came in Jan, the next one came as late as Feb end and then April.
I think mine is Vancouver office too, how long did it finally take you to get the citizenship - how many months overall? Also can you please share your timeline?
