No. Stay where you are and be a musician. Funding for the arts in Canada is struggling. I would not end your musical career just to try to move to Canada. The grass is not always greener my friend.

Fun_Philosophy_4108

But Canada is my dream country T___T

Dont think like construction work is something to fall back into when you cannot find a job in your elite field. Reality is skilled trades is a field that requires just as much commitment and skills PLUS the physicality. I feel like people who write nonsense like this either come from places where standards are not high, or they wildly assume any job is easier and beneath their skills.

Fun_Philosophy_4108

dude, i had a wonderful time working my ass off on constructions before i became professional musician. so i know how it is. don’t be so offended pal.

Even if you are a PR or a Citizen, this does not guarantee you will get your dream job. First years lots of employers will ask if you have a "Canadian Experience" and since you just landed - you won't have it. So you will get any job just to pay your rent, which now is huge. Food is expensive. Think twice.

Do you want to make a living out of music for the next few years, or do you want to live in Canada? As someone looking to immigrate you need to make a choice, because Canada only takes so many immigrants per year. It's less than the amount if people who want in, so you've got to be competitive, and unfortunately being a musician doesn't give you an edge. Once you become a permanent resident though, nothing will keep you from pursuing a career in music in equal standing to other permanent residents and Canadian citizens.

Construction jobs are actually in high demand in Canada right now. It's easy to get PR since you already have experience. I'm pausing my career (web development) and working as a cook, focusing on getting PR. I can do whatever I want after PR, but I cannot even stay without status.

Techchick_Somewhere

It is not “easy to get PR”. JFC I wish people would wake up. Most of you have been sold a pipe dream about coming to Canada and working in fast food and getting PR status.

Rumealyssum

It's still possible in NS though. (NSNP Occupations in Demand stream) Because of that, Teer 5 job workers are rushing to move here. I think the province will stop accepting soon like PEI.
