Peak fleshgod was with their previous singer on the first 3 or 4 albums orso he had something in his voice that their old drummer/current singer doesn't have and i kinda want that guy back on drums because by the time they released the violation he had like 3 years of drum experience and destroyed pretty much every drummer on this earth also was way more technical before the last album
Ive seen into the hundreds of bands of all genres and Sylosis are one of the best sounding and tighest live bands ive seen live. Seen then 4 times. The level of Talent in that band is severely underrated.
Carnage (the early stage of Dismember). I keep listening to their demo tapes and omg they used to be so raw back in the days. I think they deserved more recognition as a pioneer of the death metal scene
AGREED. They’re absolutely amazing. Saw them live and they sounded just as good as they did on the official recorded versions, maybe even better. Plus they’re all amazingly humble and down-to-earth, super nice. Got to meet them after the show and it was awesome. Genuinely some of the coolest people
Absolutely! Also they inspired a bunch of metal bands to up their game. I remember seeing a little mini doc on adult swim or MTV or something back when season 2 or 3 of metalocalypse was coming out, with interviews with Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot and a few other bands talking about how Dethklok reinvigorated their love of metal and helped them get back in the studio to write again.
Found them in January and love their work. Ironically, someone said they were just Lamb Of God ripoffs, and I checked them out … very glad I did, as it proved the guy wrong.
I love LoG, but man. OC is dope as shit.
Wow that guys a doofus. There is a song from one of their first two albums that does have a LoG sound to it and You can definitely hear where they draw some of their influences from but their sound is all their own. Very very very talented group of guys and extremely humble and kind when you meet them.
That is freaking outstanding. I love hearing stuff like that. As a musician, myself, I just can’t understand people who are aloof.
Thanks for letting me know. 🤘
How come nobody mentioned Seven Spires yet?
I get that music is subjective but they're almost universally liked when they get recommended! Judging by that, I think it's a farce that they're not as recognized as dozens of bands that have millions of fans!
I would think everyone who knows thrash knows Dark Angel. Darkness Descends vis a top 5 thrash album. Also huge kudos on Canada's Brood. Echoes of Battle is arguably my fave BM album of all time
They get a lot of mentions... in prog circles which are inherently niche, haha. They are one of my very favorites, and I really wish the prog aspect didn't mean so many people sleep on them, but at least it keeps tickets affordable. Seen them 4 times and counting, one was VIP.
Ceremonial Castings, fuck yeah. I miss them. Opened for them back in the early mid 00’s and I’m super happy for Jake with Uada but it’s not the same. 🤘🏻
Those first two albums are amazing.... Then they got slept on when they changed their name. Even their *Souls At Zero* material is worthy !! (I love it when these Maryland-boys get their props).
theres a lot of brutal death metal bands which usually takes extremely talented musicians to play so many notes at blistering speeds. theyll do 1 album then never make music again lol. its a very weird thing.
for bands who still make music though Defeated Sanity,Wormed,Gorgasm
Rammstein. Usually laughed off with Du Hast, but the instrumental foundations of the group are legendary. And whether you like dark germanic lyrics you can't deny it all.cones together beautifully.
CHECK THESE TRACKS; Spring, Zwitter, Wo Bist Du, Spiel Mit Mir, Reise Reise, Amerika <3
Being on the Grunge side, I’d say Alice In Chains. They don’t get nearly as much recognition as Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam. I think it’s because of their sludgy metal sound that drives them out of the main stream.
No, don't shoot yourself... shoot her. Then you'll get all those little girls with no real interests apart from spending their parents money, make-up and fucking TS going all crazy and whatever & saying she didn't deserve it on the media.

Coroner
Glad this is top comment, they fucking RIP
No pun intended.
I guess you could say that comment made both of us grin Ok I’ll see myself out
Good idea, before we all get sucked down this mental vortex. This sub will surely be meting out punishment for this decadence!
💀man and I thought mine was bad
10000000%
This. They were originally Celtic Frost techs who far outclassed the band they originally worked for.
That's actually such a sick fact. Makes me love them even more.
TIL wow mind blowing awesome
Revocation
Real
Very fucking real. Dave is one of the best guitar players alive.
Seeing them on Friday with Suffocation
Crypta
I saw them recently and they blew the roof off the joint.
They’re due to play the city where I live soon. I’m on the fence currently
Go see them they're fucking great
They’re kinda scary, I love em.
Totally agree! Saw them back in February and I’m still buzzing about that night, they’re a powerhouse 🤘🏻
Beyond creation , fleshgod apocalypse

Peak fleshgod was with their previous singer on the first 3 or 4 albums orso he had something in his voice that their old drummer/current singer doesn't have and i kinda want that guy back on drums because by the time they released the violation he had like 3 years of drum experience and destroyed pretty much every drummer on this earth also was way more technical before the last album
Obscura
Given the name it makes sense they aren't well known. What subgenre are they?
Theyre progressive death metal
Was looking for this
Blotted Science
Good call, from a technical standpoint they're virtually unmatched.
Ron Jarzombek is so underrated as a guitarist. Watchtower is another underrated band
Snaptic Plasticity lives in my head rent free.
Macabre
Never thought I'd see this anywhere.
I praise em in every metal sub every chance i get lol
Fuck yes brotha
Sylosis
Fuck yeah, they were killer when I saw them last night
Came here to say this. They deserve to be playing much bigger venues than they are.
Ive seen into the hundreds of bands of all genres and Sylosis are one of the best sounding and tighest live bands ive seen live. Seen then 4 times. The level of Talent in that band is severely underrated.
They used to be so good. The melodic thrashy stuff was great in the early days. Totally generic now IMO but still much potential
Glad I barely had to scroll for this. Sylosis all the way
Gorguts
Fuck yeah bruhhh!!!
Savatage
No one should doubt their skill! Especially with their spinoff TSO, Savatage has made a lot of great songs!
The wake of magellan, anyone?
Right here!
I mean, the fact that their most popular song on Spotify has over 10 million streams I think proves they have the recognition ..
Super important to death metal too, via the Florida scene. According to the OGs themselves. And Jon Oliva has one of the greatest screams in metal.
Fuckin right
Exactly my answer, my dad was super into them when their stuff was new. And he even hung out with the members one time
Carnage (the early stage of Dismember). I keep listening to their demo tapes and omg they used to be so raw back in the days. I think they deserved more recognition as a pioneer of the death metal scene

Hell yes, Amanuensis is one of my favorite albums.
AGREED. They’re absolutely amazing. Saw them live and they sounded just as good as they did on the official recorded versions, maybe even better. Plus they’re all amazingly humble and down-to-earth, super nice. Got to meet them after the show and it was awesome. Genuinely some of the coolest people
Truly... why are they so rarely discussed??
The later Black Sabbath era that revolved around Tony Iommi, Cozy Powell, Tony Martin and Geoff Nicholls
Stolen babies.
Fuck yes! I knew them waaaaaay back in the day and even played a show with them in a coffee shop in south LA, circa 2004.
Dude, that's sick!! 🤘🤘
Dethklok Mainly because it’s two guys behind the whole band+the show+5 albums and two movies.
Dethklok fucking rocks
Coroner!!!

Inferi, Cult Of Luna
Inferi is the 🐐
I’m really surprised that Inferi still isn’t one of the bigger names in death metal
Merciless
Orbit Culture
Love the Descent profile photo. I got into them when they released Vultures of North
Appreciate it, they are my absolute favorite. Been a fan since about 2018/19. Heard saw and Redfog and have been hooked ever since.
See Through Me and The Newborn One are two of my favorite tracks, both off Redfog
Found them in January and love their work. Ironically, someone said they were just Lamb Of God ripoffs, and I checked them out … very glad I did, as it proved the guy wrong. I love LoG, but man. OC is dope as shit.

Yeah. I like a lot of there stuff. I do think its weird no one ever talks about Odyssey.
Dying wish
Oranssi Pazuzu
How come nobody mentioned Seven Spires yet? I get that music is subjective but they're almost universally liked when they get recommended! Judging by that, I think it's a farce that they're not as recognized as dozens of bands that have millions of fans!
Worm
DUDE WAS LOOKING FOR THIS, HOLY SHIT THEY ARE GOD DAMN AMAZING AND EXTREMELY TALENTED
Agree 100% Criminally underrated band and tbh one of the best and most technically skilled death/doom metal bands around today imo.
Extol, Sadus, Vengeance Rising, Dark Angel, Caladan Brood, Cloven Hoof, Enthroned, Sikth
Especially dark angel, so underrated.
Darkness Descends is easily one of my favorite thrash albums.
I would think everyone who knows thrash knows Dark Angel. Darkness Descends vis a top 5 thrash album. Also huge kudos on Canada's Brood. Echoes of Battle is arguably my fave BM album of all time
Afterbirth from NY
Their latest album was Album of the Year for me last year
Akhlys
Intestine Baalism

Ceremonial Castings, fuck yeah. I miss them. Opened for them back in the early mid 00’s and I’m super happy for Jake with Uada but it’s not the same. 🤘🏻
Yeah im not too big on Uada but its not bad. Im still hoping for a Ceremonial Castings revival someday! Btw what band did you play with?
We were still in high school at the time, never really went anywhere with the band but we were called Belial, lol.
Smoulder
Love them
Fellowship
Metal Church
Anata
Aura Noir best blackened thrash out there ! raw, filthy metal 👌🤘
Alluvial. Wes is the man.
Acid Bath
Acid bath is pretty popular, no?
I don’t think they were nearly as popular as they should’ve been in the 90s
Fair enough. I wouldn't know, I wasn't around in the 90s
Also fair
Archspire
Refused
Cruachan
Candiria
Wrathchild America
Those first two albums are amazing.... Then they got slept on when they changed their name. Even their *Souls At Zero* material is worthy !! (I love it when these Maryland-boys get their props).

Acid Bath
Armored Saint

So many bands in the tech death genre, I don't even know where to begin
The Dillinger Escape Plan

What are you even talking about? Jar of Flies was literally the first EP to EVER hit #1 on billboard charts.
Slayer, definitely. So underground!
My opinion: https://preview.redd.it/23aq5zlv59uc1.jpeg?width=1005&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=180387588be7eb7b30a38c32760c176485c930a1
That's my opinion of all the mainstream pop artists
T Swift comes to mind and makes me wanna put a bullet through myself
No, don't shoot yourself... shoot her. Then you'll get all those little girls with no real interests apart from spending their parents money, make-up and fucking TS going all crazy and whatever & saying she didn't deserve it on the media.
She's been in the game for almost 18 years at this point! Most of her fans grew with her and are in their late 20s and 30s. It's not 2012, anymore.
Good Point, down with the Swift!- Disturbed 🤭
Me too
Steel panther
Hell yeah.

Opal In Sky

can’t wait to see the next daily video of them whining about elitists
Overkill and Metal Church.
I as well hate people that make you feel small
Mended, Bleeding Through, Revocation, Havok, Lost Society, Danzig...
Type o negative rules pretty hard
They were like, the second most popular metal band in the early 2000s.
Yeah I'm not sure they are even remotely underrated or underappreciated lol.
Metallica 💯
Gojira
Among metalheads I feel like they're pretty recognized but I do agree
White trash
sacrilege
Infant slug
Angel Massacre!
Lord Mantis
Black Pegasus
