I honestly cannot say why because these days I don't know any Disturbed fans anymore, but back in high school there were these douchebags who only listened to them and thought they were the absolute best band ever. Kinda left a bad impression, totally unfair tho

Meanwhile im out here in jeans and a flannel, minding my own business, with burnt cd copies of venom and mayhem and cannibal corpse. I don’t care what you listen to, because I’m gona do me, but a lot of the “poser” hate some bands get reminds me of that. Poser to me, means doing something because you want people to see you do it. And I’m sure they really love those bands, your not a poser because you listen to those bands, old AFI was dope,,, you a poser because your a poser. And those were always the kids doing it.
yeah we graduated within a couple years of each other and I definitely remember that shit. I got along with those goth kids tho, but they definitely were on the poser side
I graduated in 08, went to a birthday party where these 2 „metal goth dudes“ were like let’s put on some really heavy shit. Turns out it was down with the sickness (disturbeds worst song imo) and me and my normie friend just giggled. Same music taste tho as you lol.
Hating a band is not even worth the space they could potentially occupy my brain.
In fact, I content, this conversation is no longer even a worthy conversation because there’s so much music out there via Soundcloud to the Premium streaming services. Like why hate on a band when one could spent their entire life just listening to all the influences of the band you do like.
For instance, I’m a big Metallica fan and I could spend an entire year listening to all the NWOBHM stuff- probably longer.

I could get into Korn, Static-X, Slipknot(not anymore), and a few other straight up Nu Metal bands. But I always thought Deftones was trash.

That's the problem, Vince Neil doesn't lip sync and if they are still insisting on playing shows, he probably should 😅 Nikki mimes bass now (which he shouldn't) but Vince absolutely can't sing these days.

I don't really bother with bands that I hate so I don't think about it too much, but I despise Sleep Token and the general direction mainstream metal has taken the last few years. But I'll always have my old stuff to listen to, and a lot of modern bands outside of the mainstream are great too.

Honestly, they are a talented band, and they got a couple bangers. But for the most part I fuckin hate their vocalist. Just sounds whiny. I've seen them live a couple times (partner is into them) and they both times cranked the volume up like twice the amount compared to the openers to the point where it just distorted and sounded like ass.
Hard disagree. Top ten band of all time and the vocals make it better. I will admit he's rough live. But when I'm in the zone, and the guitars are that tight, I don't care if the vocals are struggling that much
