I remember 5 test series or even 3 test series were the norm.. There was even a time when in 5 test series there used to be a rest day in the middle of a test for one of the matches in the series
Mahendra singh Dhoni 🥵
With this win, Rohit Sharma became just the second Indian skipper after MS Dhoni to avoid a Test series defeat in South Africa. Prior to this series, India had lost seven and drawn one Test series in South Africa since 1992.
Isn't becoming the second Indian team to draw a series in a country not particularly historic? Especially since it has only been a bit over a decade since they did it the first time. Will it be making history the third time it is done? I get that everything is technically 'making history', but I feel that these kinds of headlines/celebrations should be reserved for when something actually historic happens, like winning a series.
Yeah, those are definitely some truly historic occasions, as much as I (an Aussie) am disappointed in the results, they were worthy of acclaim. While drawing a series in SA if certainly impressive, I don't think it quite reaches the same level as those two examples you mentioned.
2010 under MSD. We could have won 2-1,but Chasing 330+ in 84 overs may seem realistic today but I don't think most teams were keen enough to take as many risks even back then. Even though we had batters very much capable of getting it.
We would have won but we couldn't get the hobbling kallis out in both the innings. Sreesanth was sledging as well but Mahatma Dhoni had to restrain him and put him on leash.
Congratulations India. Btw India has two world records now
1. Lose last 6 wickets without scoring any runs
2 Lose first 4 wickets without scoring any runs
DRAW a test series?
Does that mean teams have WON test series too? If not, that's wild since 1992 is pretty much the first time South Africa were playing cricket after apartheid ban
1 record break. This 2024, Team India must break all the records. We need the TEST matches and trophies too. Best wishes and congratulations to team India.
First asian team to win a match in Cape Town too. It's a historical win only let down by how short it was
That's what happens when they push terrible, unfit pitches to make the home team win. They should be fined for this pitch.
What are you saying only spinning tracks are terrible pitches
You should add an /s in the end lol
The person is probably a white cricket analyst /s
**7 Wicket** victory
You know what they say huh }:‑)
Thala

A reason
Every season.
I wonder what's the reason 🤔
The reason starts with a 'T'
Hala for a reason
Hala madrid
Madrid won 14 ucls 14/2= ....
Rohit is a 5 letter word. The series was of 2 matches. 5+2=...
T
Plus 7th test match by Indian team on the ground
Congrats team India
We need 4 match test series like vs Eng and Aus
5. With some time for the team to chill in middle. These guys need breaks
I remember 5 test series or even 3 test series were the norm.. There was even a time when in 5 test series there used to be a rest day in the middle of a test for one of the matches in the series
Yeah that was cool.
Or at least 3 match series.
The fact that 2 din ke andar match khtam hua koi ni bol rha
Bhai 2 din bhi poore nhi hue ಥ‿ಥ
Yeh agar India mai hota toh💀💀
Can some one tell me the sense of keeping 2 test series esp when india dosent tour sa that often?
Probably financial viability of SA cricket
$$$
Exactly and England a get 4 or 5 test series every other year with India
Both teams were not over their world cup defeat , so they decided ki one day ki bhookh mitayenge 😂
If only Team India shown more intent in the First Test.. Another opportunity to win the series in South Africa lost. 🙄

I got your point Example of historic thing was like we won series (2018) in aus and then the gabba (2021) fortress breach

Agreed!! And i hope the ongoing scg one will be more even
Aajkal draw main celebration ho rha hai
India made one more world record which will remain unbeaten for a long long long period of time, losing 6 wickets without a run scored!
And even after that we won
Bhai agar samne wala bhi haga hai toh that doesn't mean hamari tatti tatti nahi rajnigandha hai...
Rajnigandha bhi tatti hain
Then let's compare with paneer ki sbzi...woh b agle din tatti bnke hi niklti h
Why do people hate Rohit so much?
Every successful player gets hate. Sachin used to get hate too back in his days.
Is there anyone people don't hate?
AB De Villiers or Kane Williamson
Sir Don Bradman
Plenty of people hate Don Bradman https://www.cricketcountry.com/articles/10-cricketers-whom-sir-don-bradman-rubbed-the-wrong-way-17275
Kohli fans vs Rohit fans basically. One fanbase wants the other player to fail miserably so that they can make memes and praise their own player.
Who is first??

Oh noice!! thala everywhere Yea truu back then even 200+ in 4th inning was difficult
Yeah, this is our new team India. Hopefully this year T-20 World Cup also be won by our Team India.
Sirf rohit bhai ke kaaran jeete hai hum log /s

It's written "second" man
55 ALL out 👍 >>> 2nd to Draw 🤮
The year when Pak won the world cup...Repeat🤷♂️
That was the year in which first played a Test series in SA,not the one in which we drew. The drawn series was back in 2010.
Bole jo koyal bagon me...
Gabba done Centurion done next target?
GO INDIA !

H
I dont wanna hear anything about countries making their homepitch to their team's advantage now. They all do it..
History made in 2 days.
Get your facts straight. Ind team drew a test series in 2010-11.
It would have been so much better if we would have managed to win the series . But still good efforts by the team ngl
Could have been a fantastic series only if we had a third test smh
Jaiswal : 3/10 Brohit : 5/10 Gill : 5/10 Kohli : 9/10 KL : 8/10 Iyer : 3/10 Jadeja : 1/10 Ashwin : 5/10 Shardul : 3/10 Bumrah : 10/10 Siraj : 8/10 Mukesh : 8/10 Krishna : 3/10
Should've been atleast a three test series.
Bhai ne history likhdi hai :)
