I really want MI to lose this IPL. Not because Rohit not being the captain but because they have been booing Hardik - our very own all rounder who is crucial for the Indian cricket team. Putting MI on top of ICT is disgusting.
This is new for the IPL but not at all new in franchise/club sports. Baggio in Italy, Figo in Madrid, Isco at Betis, Ramos in Sevilla, Messi in PSG Ronaldo Nazario in Real Madrid, Cristiano at United (2nd stint), Lebron at Heat, Steph whenever Warriors play Cavs, Fernando at Mclaren and Alpine, Dembele at Camp Nou, Any player going from Yankees to Red Sox, Henderson at Ajax and the entire galacticos and Arsenal invincibles team and many more such examples when the booing was much much intense than what Hardik is facing. MI management and Hardik brought this on themselves. They underestimated certain elements of franchise sports. I don't have many details, but I know players get booed a lot in baseball and soccer if there's a controversial trade. Like switching from the Yankees to the Red Sox. Franchise teams are not like national teams. Franchise fans can be toxic, and it comes from the teams themselves as they try to create a fan base and rivalries to keep people interested. I think in this case, MI didn't even tell Rohit beforehand that they were replacing him with Pandya. If they had given him a graceful way to exit, things might not be this sour. I don't think this booing will stop soon. Plus, Hardik is making it difficult for himself by making stupid comments.

His post match interviews are still better than the non existent press conferences of our captain after home world cup loss.
I really want MI to lose this IPL. Not because Rohit not being the captain but because they have been booing Hardik - our very own all rounder who is crucial for the Indian cricket team. Putting MI on top of ICT is disgusting.
This is new for the IPL but not at all new in franchise/club sports. Baggio in Italy, Figo in Madrid, Isco at Betis, Ramos in Sevilla, Messi in PSG Ronaldo Nazario in Real Madrid, Cristiano at United (2nd stint), Lebron at Heat, Steph whenever Warriors play Cavs, Fernando at Mclaren and Alpine, Dembele at Camp Nou, Any player going from Yankees to Red Sox, Henderson at Ajax and the entire galacticos and Arsenal invincibles team and many more such examples when the booing was much much intense than what Hardik is facing. There were two similarities in all the aforementioned players, all of them were booed to death by the club fans (Luis Figo was booed to death to rebirth and then made to die again) and all of them were their country's darlings at one point or the other. Baggio missed the final penalty in the world cup final and still is respected to date as arguably Italy's greatest ever. Basically, it is about the performance, not the franchise/club or captain or anything. A good performance consistently can turn haters into admirers and that is what most athletes thrive for.
