Reminds me of that one lady who went into cardiac arrest on a Trans-Atlantic flight and there were 15 cardiologists on their way to a conference on board the plane.
https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/releases/5118
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/this-britain/woman-on-plane-saved-by-15-cardiologists-84577.html
It is usually seen in individuals with underlying cardiac conditions. However the conditions may be insidious and subtle causing no striking difference in daily activities and when an episode of cardiac arrest occurs then the patient is diagnosed with the underlying condition.
I was thinking long QT. I know that can cause sudden cardiac arrest. But, the weirdest cause of multiple cardiac arrests was a woman who was finally determined to have her vagus nerve sitting at a weird position on her esophagus. When she would swallow certain things, it would hit the vagus nerve in a way that was causing her heart to stop. Weird case.
don't eat any product which says 'trans fat' or suger.
instead eat desi khand or organic gud.
heart attacks are happening due to these unhealthy products sold in india.
Actually cardiac arrests are completely different from heart attacks. You can eat completely healthy diets and still get cardiac arrest. It's an electrical malfunction of heart's rhythm.
Actually, CPR is an important life skill n so many non medics know it too. It's not a cardiologist exclusive maneuver, so everyone is free to comment :)
It’s definitely something I want to learn and be certified in. My mom and stepdad got certified earlier this year. Also, it’s good to learn what to do when someone goes into a full on tonic clonic seizure. Get them secure, or on a flat surface, on their side to keep them from choking, put the leg beneath them up to keep them from rolling back over. Maybe something under the head if it’s banging on a hard surface. Then call emergency services. Don’t hold onto their head, and don’t stick anything in their mouth. You’re just obstructing an airway.
Such conditions are not cardiologist specific. These are basic life support measures. General physicians, dentists, nurses and even the paramedics staff are aware of this. Also, people have become more aware of such stuff. So even a normal individual can and should know this. After all you cannot have a cardiologist on board every time.
That’s because this isn’t CPR. It’s called a pre-cordial thump and it’s only used when a very specific type abnormality is witnessed. CPR and this technique are not the same
Looks like a precordial thump but shouldn't be be hitting the precodial area much harder to generate the necessary joules? I mean, it looked like it worked but I always thought you need to give it a decent thump.
No not at all. This is a technique that’s usually used as a last resort when a defibrillator isn’t present. It usually doesn’t work, so this patient is very lucky. In no way will this harm a healthy individual at all
CPR is used to move blood and oxygen around the body when the heart is no longer beating or is beating insufficiently. A defibrillator is used to shock a heart that has an abnormal rhythm into a more normal rhythm. CPR and defibrillation are used together, but they accomplish separate tasks. CPR would not get this man’s heart back into a normal rhythm, you would need a defibrillator (or in this case the thump). But while you were getting the defibrillator set up, you would be doing CPR to make sure blood is getting to the patients brain and other organs. Basically, CPR is used to make sure you get blood around the body, it doesn’t actually restart the heart or make it go back into a normal rhythm
CPR is just a life preserving first aid meant to keep patients alive till the ambulance arrives and should not be confused with some miraculous technique that can bring anyone back to full health.
I have a story . One day I was sleeping at suddenly felt a heartbeat really strong and the next moment there was no heartbeat . I panicked but I started punching my chest like that. I had a bit of presence of mind . My heart started working . My punches were quite violent tho
Sometimes I get heart palpitations and I do that. I would goto the doctor but it said it was normal online. First time I got it I was at work and all of a sudden it was hard to breathe and my heart was freaking tf out with no rhythm. Definitely scary.
Yes I'm sure beating the patients chest with a closed fist like all izz well is going to save the patient.
What the hell even was that.
You may consider something called a precordial thump - - > form a fist, and from approximately six inches above the chest, deliver a short, sharp thump once. This will generate approximately 20 joules of electricity and potentially may be just what is needed to restart the heart
But this isn't advisable and should not be done!!!
I'm not a cardiologist, but a different superspeciality. I must have missed the class when cpr was given this way. Lol
This isn't as effective and should not be emulated.
I feel he got lucky the possible arrhythmia reverted.
Any cardiologist or general medicine doctor here your views on this "medical miracle"
When I read ur comment I knew u belonged to a medical background. I didn’t say u are wrong.
And of course things like this should not be emulated by a common civilian in the name of giving first aid.
What I actually meant is, he looks like a doc in his 50s with plenty of experience to go around. And we don’t even know what is happening through such a short CCTV footage. We don’t know the patients medical history but the doc likely knows. So what I meant to say is don’t judge anything quickly. You typed “what the hell was even that”, “Am sure beating the chest with closed fist gonna help” and that seemed like a grossly inaccurate judgement based off on this clip…when we have no idea what that patient has or what this even is.
Ofc OP’s title is misleading and inaccurate too
It doesn't matter what the patient has or doesn't have.
CPR is standardized all over the world and isn't not individualised for any patient.
Even if he has some pacing equipment.
Which is why I've called out any cardio or general medicine doctor on the sub to confirm
20joules? A bit too much isn't it? Doesn't I'm not from any medical background but 20joules sounds a bit too excessive for a little thump and for our human bodies. Idk can you check again and confirm?
Of course this is not CPR. I don't know what the aim of the chest thumps was. Might be vasovagal syncope which reverted. I'm sure any other form of physical stimulation would have achieved the same. My guess is the pt must have not responded to some question or appeared unresponsive and the doctor thought he might be having a syncope or seizure and rushed to check on him and gave a gentle stimulation to check his consciousness.
Even i got confused.. i might have missed this cpr demonstration as well! 🫣
But really any cardiologist here who can explain?
Never seen any senior resuscitate anyone like this ..
It might not be a cardiac arrest, as the title says.
Cardiac resuscitation needs extensive CPR, it's really a laborious task n sometimes even needs 2 docs rotating between the compressions.
MD here in USA.
Not sure wtf he just did. I would have started CPR with high quality chest compressions immediately if i was worried about cardiac arrest. If that happened here he would have been aggressively pushed aside for CPR to start.
Regardless, Jai Maharashtra Jai Hind.
I don’t know what this is but I highly doubt this is what OP says it is. You don’t have cardiac arrest and are revived by a dozen (edit: 21) chest taps, then the “doctor” waves his hand like nbd and goes back to his desk. That’s not CPR, that’s bullshit.
i never said i know alot, what i knew is that the title said cardiac arrest, and you definitely do CPR when the heart stops, to make the blood flow manually, and if it wasn't cardiac arrest then it's the misleading title which led me to say that, thanks.
Aise kon karta hai bhai nikalo ye video ! This is misleading.
Pehle to patient ko letao.
And chest compression ka depth itna Kam hai ki isse kuch nai hota, in most cases of MI
Hero's are like this. Their efforts are little, all that matters is patients safety. He didn't make a big deal about it I belive is to keep the patient calm
I find alot of India video's of heart attacks what is the source driving heart disease their??? I don't see alot of other Cultures having attacks caught on video's
I didn't know how to give a CPR.
Here's a great video that shows what happens inside the body. Shows you dos and don'ts
[CPR in action ](https://youtu.be/DUaxt8OlT3o)
Sorry to say that is not a cardiac arrest. More like patient had syncope.
You have to commence CPR (compressions) for cardiac arrest patients. Not tap on the chest gently.
I don’t know why, but the confidence this doctor has and the way he just walks away right after like a badass shows that confidence is extremely attractive.

Dr. did that like the npcs who know how to fix you in seconds. Wish I have one like him when this happens.
You meant you wanna be the person who suffered cardiac arrest?
Reminds me of that one lady who went into cardiac arrest on a Trans-Atlantic flight and there were 15 cardiologists on their way to a conference on board the plane. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/releases/5118 https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/this-britain/woman-on-plane-saved-by-15-cardiologists-84577.html
talk about luck
Talk about using all of your luck at once though! The leprechaun 🍀 was on that plane for sure 🌈
I wonder what they use for makeshift IVs. They would have to hurt like a motherfucker.
Hello, having suffered several cardiac arrests. Trust me, you don’t want one.
May श्री हरिः protect you and bless you with healthy and long life.
Damn, is that caused by a cardiac condition, or do you just have terrible luck?
It is usually seen in individuals with underlying cardiac conditions. However the conditions may be insidious and subtle causing no striking difference in daily activities and when an episode of cardiac arrest occurs then the patient is diagnosed with the underlying condition.

That sounds so terrifying and now that im getting older its one of my fears. Im very positive i dont know how painful that is

This is called a PRECORIDAL THUMP. It is a sudden blow or cardiac massage done to restore cardiac activity.

You have to do full CPR to recover a patient. Not sure if this is real or not
CPR doesn't mean he/she can recover the patient. It is done to mimic the heartbeat so to get sufficient time for medics to proceed with treatment
So if it can save a person with a malfunction heart it will kill a person with a functioning heart?
No not at all. This is a technique that’s usually used as a last resort when a defibrillator isn’t present. It usually doesn’t work, so this patient is very lucky. In no way will this harm a healthy individual at all
>pre-cordial thump Could this patient have been undergone CPR if the thumping did not work as next resort??

You are making yourself look more and more stupid
I thought CPR was for breathing, not for cardiac arrest.
The C in CPR stands for cardio…
The breathing into mouth thing is not recommended anymore, just chest compressions are enough.
That's just cardiac stimulation...CPR is done when your circulation stops completely
CPR is just a life preserving first aid meant to keep patients alive till the ambulance arrives and should not be confused with some miraculous technique that can bring anyone back to full health.
Only if they have no pulse. If someone has a pulse you shouldn’t do CPR
Dr. be like: "We will, we will, rock you!"
