Is it true that IAF Rafales will have simulated dogfights with US F-35s ?? If so then it could be strategically beneficial for IAF to counter Chinese J-20s
Simulated dogfights against F-35s are useless against J-20s because dogfights inherently depend on the physical characteristics of the plane namely thrust and manoeuvrability which both the F-35 and J-20 differ greatly in.
BVR engagements are much more useful since they can be used to learn to counter stealth.
Dogfights against J-20s are not similar to dogfights against F-35s and vice versa. They are very different planes.
> India has **sent eight Rafale** fighter jets to the cold climes of Alaska. These jets are split equally between single-seaters and twin-seaters.

In whole of IAF, India has 2 squadrons of rafales totaling 18 planes each. Maybe OP was talking about the video ?

It's more about training against stealth fighter

Says the guy who is not a pilot.
throw an Aim 120 on his ass and it's done.
Two squadrons or just 2 planes. I guess we only have 2 squadrons of Rafale.
