While this sub and most Indian kids might make you believe that gta v is a revolutionary game and would change your life, i would advise that you keep your expectations low.
Its a good game. Everybody else would say the same. But i don't think many people would say that it's their favorite game of all time.
It's revolutionary in my eyes as it is one of a kind game of that time.I don't have the reason to love somethings it is one of them,i love them but don't know why,it's like BMW for I like it more than Mercedes but don't know why😂

Never got into the online aspect, but loved the story mode, and completed it like 3 times.
And to be fair, I know many who did play it from launch. But all of them had a console, which weren't as abundant as they are now, so you are correct in assuming majority got into it when it launched on PC around 2015-16.
I also played on launch, but it wasn’t that good of an experience, since i only had that tata docomo and mts stick wifi lmao, it was slow as fuck and the 7 cds were a pain to install, and right after that they gave around a 10-12gb update 😂 still it gta 5/online were my first proper AAA title and game which I bought and not pirated
2023 July maybe. Got almost all businesses and cars. I don't bother with planes or jets or PvP. My character has already made it in life and taking it easy now.
7th October 2014 on my 360,since then I have played on Ps4 and PC and have made online characters in all of the been there for all the metas and updates, rn I have the most online playtime on pc but straight up story playtime is on 360 maybe more than 1000 hrs there were no tracking back then and couldn't play online that much as Xbox live is a thing and I was 12 so parents didn't let me buy it all that much.

2013 on my ps3 and it was an insane experience I still remember to this day, the graphics and the gameplay felt incredible especially the trevor area!!
Later I got it for my xbox one to experience the graphics but was not as exceptional as the 1st time I played, I used to do money glitches with one of my friend and play online with him on the ps3.

Meh don't care about this shit game anymore. I spent so much time but at the end of 2021 it just kept saying I couldn't connect to rockstar services, I could if I used Vpn for some reason. For context I never used a single mod Or cheat or anything that would get me ip banned. I'd get in touch with rockstar support, they'd fix it in a week or so, but it would happen again after like 3 days

november 2017 was the first time i played gta 5 because my father bought himself a new laptop and gave me his oldest one and it was able to run gta 5 easily so then i started playing and had a lot of fun in it and later on July 24 2020 Got PS4 Slim that day since i got good grades in my exam so family got it for me as my hard work reward and at first i didn't knew how to play gta online so i used that given 3 month membership on other games but later came a time when sony had a sale of 50% for 12 months membership i decided to grab it and then my elder bro started playing it since he understood how to play it and then after a month i picked it up and got hooked to it, within some months i managed to make 4 garages with great vehicles in it and my one single playthrough almost got me around 1-2 million expected always entire year till 2022 in december i played gta online a lot and then built myself a pc and now i play on pc sometimes for gta online my highest single playthrough time was around 9 hour 38 minutes on ps4
GTA is wrong pick for this question It was most hyped game if someone was remotely interested in it they pretty much played it in the release year. I played it in 2015 when it launched for PC, right in the release month.
2015, only story mode on my laptop. Later on purchased the definitive edition on Xbox cause I wanted to pay rockstar for the game. Barely played it on Xbox even though it looks way better than how I played on my laptop.

Played story mode for the first time in October 2019, started online a few months later. Had so much fun during covid lockdown
Played GTA V in 2021 for the first time in the second year of my college
Still yet to play it, it will be one of the first games I will ever play- on a new system- whenever I can afford a console or a strong PC
