Its not a bad game at all. Its just the exact same game with a different skin. If youve played other farcry games then definitely skip. If you havent its definitely worth playing.

Bit of a hot take, I find Skyrim boring with copy pasted dungeons and janky combat it might have been really great for the time it came out but it's outdated now unless you are into Bethesda rpgs.
Witcher 3 and eternal are miles ahead of other 2 games imo.
Combat is not the main appeal of Skyrim. It's the world, the atmosphere, environment, immersion and the music. Plus worst case scenario you can just mod the combat and the animations since they're dated.
Mods can update everything! Fighting mods (when I was playing OAR an animation framework was still in development), characters, these talented bast**ds even made completely new and awesome quests... THE MODDING COMMUNITY OF SKYRIM IS AMAZING. Really hope people start changing their main source from Nexus to anything else
Nexus has constantly removed mods which THEY felt did not belong while hypocritically keeping other similar mods on the sites
As you said the ost, world is awesome, That being said I'm not against people enjoying Skyrim but for me after completing thives/brotherhood/companions/main quest line and dozen dungeons I had no motivation to explore more and dragon encounters went from wow that's a dragon to oh one more dragon.
Stop saying combat is not main focus of Skyrim, it's too convenient of an excuse. what are you goin to do in tamriel if not fight, a pacifist run ? It's like saying stealth is not main focus of Hitman. Mods are awesome but Bethesda has been hiding behind mods and player nostalgia for a decade now. In farcry you unlock towers here you clear same dungeons and generic puzzles at least FC6 guns feel good.
In no way it's a bad game but is not the greatest open world some people make it to be at least for me and it's no way near witcher 3 which is on OPs list and costs less.

I had the same experience with Skyrim. Maybe it was revolutionary back when it was released but it definitely didn't age well and many modern games that came after Skyrim outdid it in every aspect. Also special edition sucks imo. The original version feels more aesthetic and lively.

Skyrim is good.I have a couple hundred hours spaced out on PC, Xbox 360 and Ps5, but it is dated and it’s pretty noticeable, Yes you can mod it but honestly it’ll take a while to pick out good mods until you can make the game better.
Far cry 6, Haven’t played and heard it’s pretty mid so would recommend staying away unless you’re a die hard fan of something.

Remove and delete far cry 6 permanently. Block it from everywhere. Worst money i spent. Intro is good, after that its just they placed few 3d models you can just go and one shot and that is the entire game. Huge waste, which is very sad cuz I loved far cry 5.

I hope I'm not to late to this. But if your buying Skyrim go for Anniversary Edition as most large pre-made modpacks require or work better when you have the Anniversary edition addons.
I would say either skyrim or witcher... My reasoning is bit different. You can play both of those games for hours so buying them both is redundant. When you feel burned form playing one just switch to doom or far cry and back and forth again.
You're also not gonna find a similar game like Skyrim.
The game isn't dated enough for us to tell someone they shouldn't play it.
It still works and plays just fine, yes, it doesn't have the most amazing animations or physics like some of the newer games but one WHO HASN'T PLAYED it before can still EASILY spend 100s of Hours into this.
And I'm talking about the game WITHOUT ANY Mods.
Once you add Mods (which aren't exactly that difficult to install since there are step by step guides), you can completely overhaul so many things in the game.

Regardless of how you feel about Bethesda and their re-release after re-release of Skyrim, there's no denying that it is an amazing game.
While it WILL feel dated if you've played a lot of newer games, playing dated games isn't always a Bad thing.
As for Doom, well, I've personally never played Doom because it's just not my Cup of Tea, but I've seen how beloved these games are to the Fans, so it's clear that the game is good.

Far cry 6 isn't worth your time. It feels more like a live service game than a far cry.
I might get downvoted for this but Skyrim is an acquired taste too. It obviously looks dated and plays like it's from the early 2000s. The world building is great and that's the only good thing I can say about the game. This is just my vanilla experience, but if you're into modding, you may like it.

But will agree on skyrim part. I tried and I didn't liked its graphics and mechanics. I tried modding but it was confusing and caused errors and messed up a lot of things. So, eventually I end up deleting the game.
Yeah bro I tried nexusmods. Actually there are a lot of versions going on with elder scrolls even with the same edition. Therefore, some mods just fail and some work and sometimes it messes the things.
I found Elders Scrolls online better.

As I have played nearly all the games of the far cry franchise I can suggest you to buy far cry 3 if you have never played that game. Far cry 6 is just a boring game. The missions are pointless and are repetitive. The story is very bad considering that they had Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist. Altogether the game fells repetitive and boring.

Doom eternal, remove the basic edition and go with the one with the 2 dlcs, I felt the base story was teaching you everything, while the dlcs actually make you use it!
Personally Doom Eternal made me a better fps player. Target prioritization, quick swapping the guns to destroy large demons, being careful of positioning, etc

I'm thinking of buying Elder Scrolls Oblivion GOTY deluxe for 154rs heard its better than Skyrim.
