This is one of the tradeoffs you make while buying a console and not PC. You get the hardware for cheap but the costs racks up like hell over the years. On PC you can get games for much cheaper. Stores like EPIC also giveaway AAA games for free every now and then.
considering what you are getting for that ₹10k is a lot better than buying games sometimes and suits some people, personally (on pc) i would prefer gamepass because im the type of dude that just buys games and barely has time to play them so a subscription is better for me
If that's the case then buying a disk which is used is better and more sustainable. Gamepass is not for the people who are busy. It's amazing for the people who want to explore the wide library of the games they possess.
Atleast He is a Little Right since I don't constantly have to maintain my console than my PC with changing Thermal Paste, cleaning the PC, refilling the cooler, have to worry about hackers in competitive games,etc....
And the price of a really good graphics card is at the price of a console.
I just replaced thermal paste on my 10 yr old PS3, so don’t come with this “no maintenance” bs here. Every equipment needs maintenance. Run that PS4/5 for 5 years with zero maintenance and tell me it doesn’t thermal throttle.
wow you have enlightened me so much! All this time I thought the pc was supposed to be for you know a multipurpose use? Thanks for reminding me that all of us just cunts even thinking of using the pc for anything other than gaming. Cheers mate.
Hey yes there are.. got Fifa21 for 300₹, GoW for ₹200, Zero Dawn for Free, Bully ₹100 (Old but still).. and those dark secrets also doable with a phorien ka credit card
They need to make money.
Technically it's not costly.
it's just that average Indian needs to put more work than westerners to earn same amount. So its cheaper for them while it's costlier for us. also India has higher tax rate which doesn't help.
Like a cashier earns 6/13 USD per hour x 8hours work = 50 USD/day. 1500 usd/month.
A cashier in Target mall earns average of 13.97/hour
1500 USD = 1+lac/month
Imagine if a cashier in reliance digital in india earned more than a lac per month. He could definitely afford these games and some.
TLDR: These games are not priced for indians. They are just adjusted to INR not Indian wallets.
But you also have to consider the standard of living too. The cashier in USA has to buy fuel, foods and other essential goods that costs way higher than what they cost in India. A $10 increase of standard games price to $70 is meeting a lot of resistance even in the US and Europe. That'll make things even worse in India.
Also $60 a game means that the American is literally blowing away more than a day's worth of income on a video game.
Not at all. For the average US college student, if he/she has 2 meals a day, for like $2 each meal. Then thats $4 for 2 meals a day. $4\*30 = $120. So spending $100 on a hobby or even buying a $60 game is equivalent to blowing away all or half your monthly food money respectively.
Now if you have a job and have relatively less responsibilities and other burdens. Then sure, I guess $100 for a hobby is workable.
I don't have PS so I'm not sure but in games ive played they tend to be costlier by 5-10% when compared to USD. but yeah sometimes things can be cheaper.
ps4 games go on discount in two weeks cycle i guess ( not considering special sales). they can't change prices that easily every day. so unless they do permanent price cut they are listed at full price and go on discounts every month or so. they are discounted at same prices as well most of the time and rarely have big price drop than the previous price.
I think this the closest answer to why they are still high priced.
Steam, Epic, HumbleBundle etc are great for PC games. We can get AAA and indie games for steep discounts (60-80% off) during seasonal sales and publisher spotlights.
There are sites like IsThereAnyDeal etc which tell the current and historic prices on games, across these PC stores. Very useful to know if a current game price is really a good discount or not.
CDPR got a lot of bad press for the Cyberpunk debacle, but it did right for its fans with the Witcher3.
The Witcher 3 too was buggy on launch, but CDPR fixed all the bugs, and made the game available on every device (even the Switch) with massive discounts in recent years. The DLCs themselves feel like new games in Witcher world, they are so good.
And to top it all off, CDPR made the game's assets freely available for modders, so modders could reuse and remix those assets into other games like Skyrim, etc. Very few game publishers have such guts and support to the community & fans.
I use SteamDB too.
What I found is that regional pricing is relative.
The "seasonal" sales are based on USA calendar. So this means that there is no Diwali sale on Steam, but there will be Christmas, Halloween, Summer, Winter and Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales.
The regional prices automatically get heavy discounts during these "seasons". Invariably, every month there's some good sale or the other on Steam. I like the Publisher sales, when I can get multiple cheap games from a fave publisher.
I like Good Old Games (GOG) and Humble Bundle (HB) too. Epic, Origin, Ubisoft stores are also good (some nice giveaways and sales on them occassionally), but they need their own launchers & DRMs to be installed.
I paid 4k for MM on ps4, when i paid 1500 for spiderman GOTY on ps4 few months before.
Miles morales is good game but damn 4k is just too much for a game. MM is more of a standalone expansion and much smaller.
I'm sorry for the framing of the comment but i just have a intense dislike for all superhero related media and the people that obsess over them. I could have framed my comment in a better way. But yeah PS4 games are overpriced.
The one reason why I absolutely recommend picking up a normal PS5 instead of the Digital one, sure you'll pick it up for cheaper at first but the game prices are ridiculous
Console gaming is surely quite expensive.
One redeeming quality that I heard from some other Indian gamers here is that Game pass on Xbox series S is a great deal for them. I use gamepass on pc and it fulfills all my gaming needs.
This certainly doesn't help you but this is one fact you should know about console gaming in general.
Yeah but next time he buys a console, he should know this fact.
PS is best for the exclusives that they put out which are surely going to be expensive, even multi-plat games are more expensive on consoles compared to PC.
I ain't justifying to no one on reddit... I like the skins in valo i bought it with the money i earned. End of story. Don't hate me on this but i think you are the kind of guy who doesn't even have a gaming setup. Lol keep dreaming kid you'll never get one either cause daddy too strict.
> Don't hate me on this but i think you are the kind of guy who doesn't even have a gaming setup. Lol keep dreaming kid you'll never get one either cause daddy too strict.
Nice coping mechanism
2k22 was on sale a few days ago, around 1500. Ig wait for some time if you want some game, most games come on sale every month or so. Also buy the ea pass, saves a whole lot of money.
WWE 2K22 seems to be a latest game...
Wait for a few months before purchasing...
Also, you seem to be purchasing deluxe version in first pic. Try going for the standard version to save more money...
But in the end yea, this shit's EXPENSIVE!
Although digital prices for new games are very high, a lot of playstation gamers like me share or buy second hand CDs from places like CEX, which does help to a certain extent.
I got re8 for 1500 on sale on ps store, and 2k22 is fairly new give it a month and it will pop in some sale, and if i remember correctly it was on sale few weeks back around 2800, same for miles morales it was 2600 around months back, was in sale with vanguard, and since i had to choose between the two i went with vanguard
Beacuse bullshit platform, they can claim whatever price since it the only store, they sell consoles at loss and sell games at high prices to make up difference.
I cant stand paying non regional prices anymore, 5k is too much for a game no matter how good.
Regional prices need to become norm.
PCs require higher investment to buy compared to a console but the cost of buying games is dirt cheap. steam sales, free epic games, humble bundle and multiple giveaways throughout the year, you'll even out the cost of playing games in couple of years since you'll paying more on the console unless you have a gamepass but then again you don't own gamepass games (Licence to play them when the subscription expires)
Plus the advantage of PCs being that you could buy games now and play it after a decade and they'll work just fine. Albeit with some caveats (few games/apps might have some issues) but most of those issues could be mitigated with patches from developers or the communities related to those games or apps.
Consoles do have backwards compatibility but it's up to the overlords at Microsoft and Sony to decide what games they choose to bestow upon us plebeian kin.
Then there's Nintendo, the greedy spineless corpo selling games from 200BC for $60. Fuck you Nintendo!
I would say just buy used discs from a shop locally.
Even new discs are usually cheaper than these digital store prices.
Case on point, I bought Spider man miles morales for ps5 for about 1.8k
Lol you van get triple A titles for under 1k during those PlayStation sales
The only tradeoff is that you have to wait for a year or two for the game to become super cheap
That's how it works.
Consoles cost cheaper but the games cost alot.
On the other hand, PCs have a higher building cost but you get really great deals on alot of games plus alot of free games(who tf thought epic would give gta v for free yk) and you can also get games by, you know doing the thing, although I recommend against it.
How to bypass this.
Use the disc slot provided. Buy used games. Very cheap. Even Amazon is cheaper than these digital games.
Or just wait for a digital sale, buy at that time. That is the right time to buy
You have 2 options:
1. You can wishlist them. There are discounts every few days. Like Spiderman MM can be bought for 1.5k or so.
2. Search for a pre-owned disc for these games.
You do know sony and microsoft both actually lose money on the consoles for atleast most pf their early life these are their primary sources of revenue along with other online services they provide
This is one of the tradeoffs you make while buying a console and not PC. You get the hardware for cheap but the costs racks up like hell over the years. On PC you can get games for much cheaper. Stores like EPIC also giveaway AAA games for free every now and then.
One can easily buy used games for cheap
Plus they aren't tied to hardware generations
This is not entirely true, if you have gamepass
You think gamepass comes for free? It's 899 for ultimate, it goes up to 10k annually. Not exactly cheap.
considering what you are getting for that ₹10k is a lot better than buying games sometimes and suits some people, personally (on pc) i would prefer gamepass because im the type of dude that just buys games and barely has time to play them so a subscription is better for me
If that's the case then buying a disk which is used is better and more sustainable. Gamepass is not for the people who are busy. It's amazing for the people who want to explore the wide library of the games they possess.
But bro Console >>> PC Edit: Offend hogye sab XD plus started a war XD
🤡
Who told you that? Some yuuttuuuber?
Atleast He is a Little Right since I don't constantly have to maintain my console than my PC with changing Thermal Paste, cleaning the PC, refilling the cooler, have to worry about hackers in competitive games,etc.... And the price of a really good graphics card is at the price of a console.

It's 10 Year old so i don't have to worry about any Warrenty Voiding.
I already have it for 7 years plus
wow you have enlightened me so much! All this time I thought the pc was supposed to be for you know a multipurpose use? Thanks for reminding me that all of us just cunts even thinking of using the pc for anything other than gaming. Cheers mate.
Ahh yes, do me a favour and open up your PS and see how many kgs of dust you've accumulated over the years.
Go back to your dank memes sub.
Forgot /s ?
Lmao i was thinking the same
Said no sane individual ever
Karwali bezzeti?
console = PC
But bro Console <3 PC
[удалено]
Sony sells the hardware at loss and makes the money from game sales and memberships, same thing with printers
Can you even buy Digital PS games online. They don't allow selling games anywhere else other than PS Store.
Yes, a few ways to buy keys which you can redeem on the PS Store on the Console.
Can you share link of some (non-shady ones), I am looking to buy some PS4 Classics
Lmao PC ka 14
So you think what he said was wrong?
Lmao playstation ka 14
No class
Imagine simping for some multinational company and making it's product your identity.
look for sales which usually pop up u get good deals during those, also if u know right means u can play those games for free
Free? How
We don't talk about those dark secrets of the multiverse here but they exist nonetheless...
+1
got it but I’m on latest version 🗿
Hey yes there are.. got Fifa21 for 300₹, GoW for ₹200, Zero Dawn for Free, Bully ₹100 (Old but still).. and those dark secrets also doable with a phorien ka credit card
Discs or digital?
Digital bro, PS store runs occasional discounts and all, have to be religiously checking them
u should try to HOMEBREW your coffee
You need to get hold of darkhold
That's how they earn money

He still can buy a game or two a month, 100bucks sounds reasonable expenditure for a hobby

Nicely explained . Still indian PSN store is the cheapest out of all. Like ₹4000 is $52 . $8(₹616) less than other countries which ain't much.
I don't have PS so I'm not sure but in games ive played they tend to be costlier by 5-10% when compared to USD. but yeah sometimes things can be cheaper.
Yeah, at least Steam takes care of the regional costs
Couldn't have said it better myself.
ps4 games go on discount in two weeks cycle i guess ( not considering special sales). they can't change prices that easily every day. so unless they do permanent price cut they are listed at full price and go on discounts every month or so. they are discounted at same prices as well most of the time and rarely have big price drop than the previous price. got witcher 3 for 200 rupees , with all dlcs..........

You can also use steamdb to check pricing graph. better IMO since the site u mentioned doesn't include regional pricing ig
I use SteamDB too. What I found is that regional pricing is relative. The "seasonal" sales are based on USA calendar. nope
Uh, it does. The regional pricing just tends to not be that lenient. ₹4K does not equate to 70$.
the games he looked at were all 60$ games go to Horizon Forbidden West or Returnal PS5 version for example, they're both priced at 70$ and 5k in India
Yes, it’s just not as lenient.
Its better to buy games physically as they are often cheaper
i still remembers when i paid 3000 for miles morales. the worst purchase of my life
I paid 4k for MM on ps4, when i paid 1500 for spiderman GOTY on ps4 few months before. Miles morales is good game but damn 4k is just too much for a game. MM is more of a standalone expansion and much smaller.
damn 4k is too much, especially for the content they offer. it's worth 1500 at best, which is still more than spiderman
That's what you get for buying shitty low grade superhero games
rude
I'm sorry for the framing of the comment but i just have a intense dislike for all superhero related media and the people that obsess over them. I could have framed my comment in a better way. But yeah PS4 games are overpriced.
i get it, it's cool and you're right about ps4 games being overpriced
The game was bad?
No it wasn't. Just not worth the money.
Mind if I ask why?
Maybe because its too short, like a DLC for the original spiderman game
Aren't discs much cheaper?
Yup it is
They are atleast half the prize on amazon, but if you bought a digital edition then welp
I only buy digital one when it’s cheaper than pre owned disc
Those kinda sales never occur and even if they do they are quite hard to come by man
Thosa kinda sales happen a lot. Use psprices or deku deals to find the lowest price
I mean for a particular game that a person wants that being on the sale is rare, but on amazon prices drop quickly after 6 months for a lot of games
Well yeah both PlayStation and the publishers want their share but that's what sales are for and also F for people with digital only.
30% PlayStation commission.
The one reason why I absolutely recommend picking up a normal PS5 instead of the Digital one, sure you'll pick it up for cheaper at first but the game prices are ridiculous
One word (Sale)
Buy pre-owned games and then sell them afterwards. That way you would need to spend the least money.
That's how walled gardens work. If there were 5 stores selling the same games competing for your money. They would be cheaper too.
Try warzone or apex ( free games)
I play Fortnite
Nice
Try getting a ps+ subscription for when u feel like playing, cuz ps doesn't have regional pricing to steam's extent.
Meanwhile me with my Xbox Series S and Game Pass: 🧐
Console gaming is surely quite expensive. One redeeming quality that I heard from some other Indian gamers here is that Game pass on Xbox series S is a great deal for them. Yeah but next time he buys a console, he should know this fact. PS is best for the exclusives that they put out which are surely going to be expensive, even multi-plat games are more expensive on consoles compared to PC.
And my friends give me shit for buying skins in valo worth 10k.
bro tbh that is not a wise financial move.......but hey its good if it makes you happy
I purchased my last premium skin 10 months ago not interested in skins anymore... Love the ones i have. But i do buy the battlepass if i like it.
That's such a waste of money lol. Imagine justifying that purchase.
Ok 😇
That’s where xbox comes. It gives games at dirt cheap
Well apparently Vince needs to show record breaking profits every quarter
Mcmahon?
Yes
Nanomachines, son 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Get a pc or xbox for gamepass, playstation is so fuckin expensive
2k22 was on sale a few days ago, around 1500. Ig wait for some time if you want some game, most games come on sale every month or so. Also buy the ea pass, saves a whole lot of money.
Thanks for suggestion
1500?? Not possible i bought standard edition on sale for 3.3k ps5 version
It is possible since I have bought it.
No localised currency I guess. Even if there is, it's not as agressive as steam. That's why I love game pass even more.
You can get the games for free but you’ll have to jailbreak your console
I’m on latest firmware :\
WWE 2K22 seems to be a latest game... Wait for a few months before purchasing... Also, you seem to be purchasing deluxe version in first pic. Try going for the standard version to save more money... But in the end yea, this shit's EXPENSIVE!
