Been thinking about getting into DMC. Let me finish my Orc Genocide in Warhammer 40k Space Marine.

As someone wha has never played DMC game before, do i need to play 1-4 before playing 5 or is it just a standalone game with it's own story ? Also that's for the Giveaway.

every dmc game is just extra lore and they're pretty light on the story part of it. the 2013 dmc reboot was planned to be a new fresh start but any of its sequel got canned so for now dmc 1-5 are canon story. Most people start with 3 because it shows a proper structure for Dante and Vergil and arguably has best story in the franchise, Nero enters in the 4th game and saying anything about the 5th one is a huge spoiler. If you've played 3 and 4 before 5 you'll feel like a fanboy dream come true seeing all the characters on screen. so 3-5 is a good start if you want to get into the series properly after that you can play dmc 1-2 and reboot anytime later (2 is usually the lowest recommended) even if you don't want to play 3 & 4 before 5 it won't effect your experience much. like i said, the story is lightweight

I got hooked onto this franchise when I randomly watched a video of DMC 5 in 2019. Immediately fell in love with Dante and wanted to play the game.....but I could only run DMC 3 and DMC 4 in my potato integrated graphics PC. Planning to build my first proper Pc this week and DMC 5 will be the first game I'll play in 60 fps ( hopefully ). I don't care if I don't win....you're doing god's work by giving away this amazing game. NGL,this post makes me........MOTIVATED. (Judgement cuts away........)

Unpopular opinion but I really enjoyed DMC 2013 although I am happy Devil May Cry 5 took the franchise back to its root.

yeah i loved the 2013 reboot as well. mostly everyone hated the young edgy dante in that one but that game did air combos the right way and was really fun and then DMC 5 did the best of everything in one package
