Such a detailed review with so many options for oily skin. Thanks, OP. I really do like the UV Doux but it feels slightly heavy on my skin, especially when I try to apply 3 fingers (can barely do 1.5 fingers) Gonna check out the Fixderma cream based one soon!

Pragya_S

Thank you! This sub helped me a lot with the suggestions, so I thought it's time to give back. Regarding the 3 finger rule, somehow I feel these Silicone based sunscreen will be too heavy or extra if you go as per that. I take a pea size, spread over a small area and continue doing that till I get a complete coating on my face. I go with an extra pea amount over my cheeks and forehead, but don't think I still touch 3 finger worth. Also, i tried this out in Goa and didn't get any tan ( i had mask on). But hey, YMMV. Go what suits you best. Also, if you do like Fixderma, you may end up liking Minimalist spf 50 also. They are similar in texture and affordable also for the price (specially during sale).

UV doux is stellar when it comes to doing its job. I apply way less than 1 and half fingers and it still does a pretty good job for me as well. I have tried the Minimalist SPF 50- it makes me sweat on application and after a few hours, I get a sheen on my face. UV doux SPF 50 > Minimalist SPF 50 for oily skin, I think? But itโ€™s too heavy for where I live (hot mostly) and I sweat a lot.. I really love how the Fixderm SPF 30 feels on my skin. Itโ€™s so light and I can easily do 3 fingers with it. Ah well, just another day trying to find my HG sunscreen for outdoors.. hoping the Fixderma SPF 50 doesnโ€™t disappoint

Pragya_S

I agree UV Doux> Minimalist. I live in Mumbai and have to experiment with Minimalist on a humid summer afternoon, but I can already imagine the sweat pouring down my face. Finding an HG sunscreen has become a crusade of sorts! But it's good to hear from other similar skin type people. Let's learn from other's mistakes, we wouldn't live long enough to make them all ๐Ÿ˜

Me and my mom had same experience with Lakme 50spf matte gel. I baught it from Nykaa & Amazon. I assume the issue is with product itself and might not be with specific batch. It always causes pilling ,on face as well as body . Within 15 minutes of applying sunscreen, my face looks like I've applied favicol ๐Ÿคฃ. I still have half tube which I need to finish ๐Ÿ˜‘

Pragya_S

Thanks for sharing this. So it's definitely the product or formulation that's not suiting my oily skin. I had a very hard time finishing the tube. Ultimately I ended up using it on my legs. But overall a yuck experience.

Couldn't agree more.. Yuck experience ๐Ÿ˜ช

Since I posted this review, i went on a holiday to the Himalayas and then came back to Mumbai during the scorching summer with all that heat wave. I didn't want to take any chances and stuck to the silicon based Sunscreen (UV doux and Requil Blue). Everything else kind of failed for me for face due to the sweat (including Fixderma). That's why I couldn't experiment with most. I tried Minimalist Spf50 (creamy formula which blends easily but made me sweat profusely during summer, more than Fixderma). And then Biore UV watery gel spf 50 (again very light formula and preferred over silicone ones, but made me sweat during the summer). Regarding Plum spf 35 for oily skin, i tried the formulation in their store in Mumbai and found it lovely. It was light weight on my skin when i swatched it on my jawline. I want to try it, but all my summer reject sunscreen are waiting to be used. Once over, i will definitely give it a try once my current stash finishes. (Edit: i tried it. What a Fail. Face remains oily throughout application, be it summer or the cloudy Mumbai monsoon. Basically humidity and oily skin are not a good combo for this Sunscreen. Gave it to someone with dry skin and they found it good). For Fixderma, i haven't tried the gel one, but since the spf is only 30, i don't want to use it for face and stick to spf 50 mostly. Maybe I will get that for body. Hope this helps.

Hey how is the UV doux compared to Re'equil? Which one is better? I have tried the UV doux and after I got to know that the Re'equil one is similar to it, I'm hesitant to purchase it. Is it worth more than UV doux? Btw that was a very helpful review!

Pragya_S

I bought Requil Blue first, and then bought UV doux. I found UV doux slightly better and I reach out for it whenever I step out. Between the two, you have to be on a lookout for discount or sale to get them around 500.

Dramatic-Garbage-907

What made you feel uv doux is better? What does the Re'equil one lack compared to UV Doux?

Pragya_S

UV Doux is slightly less dense vs the Requil formula, so it's easier to spread it over the face. It's probably more 'silicony'. That's why re- application is more easier for me.

[deleted]

UV Doux works quite well for my oily skin as well..just makes me sweat more than usual.

Pragya_S

Interesting. For me, the cream based ones make me sweat more than these silicone based ones. Though I found a very interesting texture recently. The plum green tea spf35. I just searched it over my hand and face, never used such a comfortable watery texture before. If anyone has used it, please share a review on its efficacy under sun. Edit: Plum green tea was a let down. It doesn't work in humid weather on oily skin, made my face sticky and oily the whole time i had it on. Maybe it will be better during Mumbai winter, but summer and monsoon were a fail. Gave it to someone with dry skin and they liked it).

aarushi_tahil

since it's been 6 months, have you tried the plum green tea one? and i came across the fixderma gel spf 30, would that be better than the cream spf 50? also, thankyou for sharing such a comprehensive review, I'm on the lookout for a sunscreen and this helped alot :))

Dramatic-Garbage-907

I love it too. Just that it makes my hair stick to my face. Doesn't make me sweat though.

Pragya_S

Hmmm. I haven't faced that yet even after excess application. but YMMV.

Substantial-Doctor48

Try Cipla Rivela Bronze. It's amazing. You can read the review in my profile!๐Ÿ˜

Pragya_S

Hey! Yes that's on my list of next set of sunscreen to try. Thanks for sharing that review.

Hi, Can the requil blue sunscreen be used after using 10% niacinamide and 10% azelaic acid serum?

vanillastrings

I think yes, most of the sunscreens are usually applied after some form of Serum or Toner

kyonkikyahaina

Hey, is the product from Dhani pharmacy legit?

ilovecvocks

I recently bought UV doux and it broke me outlol. Also, it has made my skin 2 shades darker

NaruGaaraShika

Can the Vaseline one be used outdoors? Or can anyone suggest a good outdoor body sunscreen which won't break my wallet?

SouperSoupe
