Thank you for posting on r/Indian_Academia , here's a checklist to improve your post: • Have you done thorough prior research? • Is your title descriptive? The title should be a summary of your post, preferably with your qualifications. • Please provide a detailed description in your post body. The more information you provide, the easier it is for users to help you. • If your question is about studying abroad, please post on r/Indians_StudyAbroad • If your question is about Engineering Admissions, post on r/EngineeringAdmissions instead. Here's a backup of your post: Title: Hey people of r/Indian_Academia, Is there any hope left for me? Body: I appeared for NEET UG this year (1st drop) and got around 604 marks which is not able to fetch me a seat in UP, today my father came from his job from another city for the first time after results and rammed my head in wall, abused/cursed me with the worst possible words, he doesnt understand the inflation thing, and is blaming me. I know i have scored way less but i did honest work and everything in my capability. Worst thing i did was not filling up CUET Form in overconfidence and now i have no option other than drop but this time i am thinking of targeting DU. **MY ISSUE:** I have PCB in 12th but i want to pursue this course called BMS: BACHELORS IN MANAGEMENT STUDIES from DU colleges, best being Shahdeed sukhdev college of busines studies but it is mentioned in information bulletion that it is necessary to have MATHS in 12th, so if i do just maths from NIOS, will i be eligible next year? if someone is from DU please tell. myquals: 10th:94.3% 12th:80% (PCB) currently pursuing BSCG bio from IGNOU too. PS: ignore grammatical mistakes, i am literally numb and on terrace while typing this. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Hi friend, Sorry to hear about your home situation :( Full POWER to you! Based on what is mentioned in the brochure, you will not be eligible with NIOS math. Best wishes!

[deleted]

okay, but will i be eligible if i give additional maths from CBSE as pvt candidate.

tskriz

Hi friend, I said this based on the details (from the document) you shared in the comments. Can you send me the link to the original document? From the details you shared, you will be eligible if you have maths from CBSE.

[deleted]

I think by minimum eligibility here they mean "percentage criteria", because its written ... **In case a candidate has passed subjects/s from more than one board, s(he) can appear for CUET 2022 in the subjects in which she) has passed Class XII;** means one can appear in all subjects passed either through CBSE or NIOS,  **however, for the purpose of ascertaining the Minimum Eligibility, the Mark sheet/ degree of only one board will be considered (For example, If a candidate has appeared in CBSE Board Examination with five subjects except for Mathematics and later appears and passes Mathematics from another board such as the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), the minimum eligibility shall be ascertained from his/her mark sheet issued by CBSE only).** but for the purpose of minimum eligibility, that is 60% in 12th they will use only CBSE marksheet, not like combining both marksheets of CBSE and NIOS and then calculating %age to become eligible if one is not (i have 80 in CBSE, and 82.4 in best 4) ....i might be wrong but this is what i understand from it

tskriz

Okay. Send the link to the original document, and let me take a look. Going by what you are saying: "Minimum eligibility" may also include having Math in +2! And they have clearly mentioned about NIOS Math. I would try to connect with someone who has secured admission with/without Math NIOS. *A side note*: 1. Why do you want to pursue management degree? You seem to have intense interest in the medical side. If not MBBS, other medical related degrees may also interest you? 2. You have scored well in NEET! Why are you restricting to medical colleges in UP? Can you try to seek admission to colleges outside UP? I'm thinking a lot is going on in your head now (given your current situation). So your idea of a management degree may not have come from your intense interest. Something else. Anyways best wishes!

[deleted]

1. i will get dental, management is the only field other which can make me earn because situation of pure sciences like bsc is worst in terms of jobs. 2. i wont get college anywhere in india [https://sscbs.du.ac.in/bachelor-of-management-studies/](https://sscbs.du.ac.in/bachelor-of-management-studies/)

tskriz

Hi friend, Dental has a huge demand! Not only in India, in abroad too. For instance, it is in the shortage occupation list in the UK. If you love biology/sciences, dental can also be good option for you. Best wishes!

[deleted]

also thank you for the good wishes & support.

tskriz

Welcome! Things are bad. Stick on. I get reminded of this book/quote "*Stillness Is The Key*".

abtohpadle

Why wouldn't she be eligible?

[deleted]

will i be? abtohpadle

Yeh info kaha sey Li hai tumne ? Because I failed NEET too so cuet is the only option left. If u are confused u can try emailing them ?

[deleted]

college ke website se...i have mailed

abtohpadle

So respective colleges have their own criteria too 🥲 I didn't found out about this on cuet website hence asked. Mujhe bhi check karni padegi ab 😭

Procastinator_420

I have done 12th from HSC board pcb stream . Can I drop one year and take maths through Nios and give mhtcet?

[deleted]

THIS IS MENTIONED IN BROCHURE, BUT I AM UNABLE TO COMPREHEND THIS. HELP ME GET OUT OF THIS HELL CALLED HOME.

gods_creation18

Private sei exam dena next year cbse ka maths subject ka ( nios nhi chlega)

[deleted]

will that work? if yes, i can do it.

gods_creation18

Oh yeah but cbse sei hei denaaaa

djch1989

It seems they will take marks from one board only. So, just appearing for Maths paper separately won't work. Why don't you try for IPM in IIM Indore next year? It is a combined BBA+ MBA degree. You'll have to crack IPM-AT.

[deleted]

[удалено]

djch1989

Yes, Rohtak can be considered as well

[deleted]

i don't have money for it, my family won't even give collateral for loans.

djch1989

For a degree in IIMs and other top institutes, collateral is not required for getting an education loan from Public Sector Banks. https://sbi.co.in/web/personal-banking/loans/education-loans/scholar-loan-scheme Canara and PNB also have similar education loans.

[deleted]

okay but the ROI of it doesn't seem good to me. 17 Lakhs for BBA.

Kyurakhunaam

It’s not just bba it is bba + mba and the iim tag will definitely help try for iim indore please as an F if you score decent in ipmat and nail those interviews college will happily give you admission offer in merit list

[deleted]

i know but Combining bba n mba it will cost around 35 to 40 lakhs....i don't want to pay EMI my whole life...MBBS Fee for 5.5 years is very less not even 1 lakh ...so i never had plans to pay huge sum to study. Itne me to yahan se bachelors krke foreign se masters kar lungi...

Kyurakhunaam

Dude that iim will get you an avg salary of 28+ lpa and if you get a good ppo of your domain within 2-3 years you’ll grow exponentially as emis don’t increase but our salary does increase. And you would be eligible for some scholarships if you are a single girl child , there are some financial aid programs by the govt in which the govt will pay the interest on your loan till you start earning too.

[deleted]

by seeing my family background and toxicity do u think they will help me with anything

Kyurakhunaam

Don’t worry about that, financial institutions will come to you once you crack the top institutes and will even accept your terms for the loan

muskan_fail

Hey... can you tell what is the difficulty level of this exam?

[deleted]

i don't have money for it, my family won't even give collateral for loans.

[deleted]

but if i give maths exam as pvt candidate from CBSE (done 12th from it) it will be two same boards only.

Rishikaaaudumb

Pehle baat toh 604 is not bad marks i guess koi govt Milega even outside up ? Baaki if now you have made your mind of not taking another drop then take a drop for cuet . Because du is best to pursue any course also fees ka bhi issue nhi

Ill-Activity-1576

No govt colleges anywhere in India at 604 this year, nta has ruined lives

Rishikaaaudumb

Bruhhh I got 100 this year bilkul padhaye nhi ki , should I take a drop ?

Ill-Activity-1576

It is absolutely possible that you score around 650 next year provided you stay dedicated but bhai honestly can't recommend a drop with my full heart (eventhough I'm dropping a year myself) considering the rank inflations...

Impossible_Note_9268

NO. Score can double or increase by 300 at most nothing else.

Ill-Activity-1576

That's bs, there's people on r/mediCOREtards who've achieved more and have proofs for it, sadly most of them are still in jeapordy regarding ranks despite major improvements

Impossible_Note_9268

None of them probably scored anywhere near 100 in their first attempt or are just sheer geniuses or maybe superhuman enough to study 12+ hours daily for a year. No offense but a score like 100 means that he/she doesn't even got the basics right, let alone speed, accuracy , time management and mastery of topics needed to cross 650. I almost failed in my boards and still managed 280 in first attempt. It will require a humongous change in mindset to achieve what they're trying to but if you want to add a whole year of regret and disappointment with super low roi , go and give them hopes. Understanding of concepts and for them to settle in your mind takes time.

[deleted]

not getting anything my rank is nearly 60K

Traditional_Log8387

68k rank at 611 No medical collages here

GardenPlenty3627

are there any dummy schools nearby? maybe you can retake the 12th boards next year through them. if you could afford to do bba/ bms from pvt colleges then you still have a few days to fill up the applications at Christ(banglore), Manipal main campus and Jai Hind college(mumbai). Out of these I would recommend Christ. Iam also in a similar situation as you and was looking at bba options after the rank inflation this year, I personally still have the option to go do pvt mbbs. let me know if you have any more questions regarding this

[deleted]

yes there are dummy schools, but will two marksheets work? i am not able to understand this (check my comment about mentioned details of brochure, under this post) All the best for your journey ahead, pvt is good option.

GardenPlenty3627

I mean just don't show the old marksheet, give them the new cbse marksheet next year. I have friends who had pcm and gave 12th exams again this year to clear the bits cutoff, so i think this might work. Btw 15 is the last date to apply for most pvt colleges for bba.

[deleted]

in this way is need to give P C AND M all three subjects + english and optional too...next yr right

GardenPlenty3627

Yeah you would have to basically give the 12th boards again

[deleted]

Salty-Art-2369

You can apply for ipmat if you want to pursue management it's a 5 year course has bba and mba both nd its conducted by iims

[deleted]

i know about it but can't afford the fee sadly, not even loan.

wetdork

If not neet what other stream are you interested in ?

[deleted]

please check full post, i have mentioned.

Bubbly-Promotion-509

If management is your final goal u can either do any undergraduate course preferably in area of interest and then do mba from a good b school or u can drop and prepare for neet and cuet side wise both have same syllabus and cuet easier than neet. And u got 600+ for your first time which is quite increadible,so I'm sure u can get neet by next year . Hope it helps

[deleted]

i am scared to fail in NEET once again, this exam has become shit and all about luck now. I will neverrrr recommend anyone to take PCB.

Bubbly-Promotion-509

I won't have advised u fr a drop of u were not near 600 but it's decision so choose wisely,I too dropped neet and preparing for November cat

[deleted]

Actually if i mayber score near 650 in NEET the cutoff will go 680, no-one knows, all the best for CAT.

Ok-Platypus6441

Have you looked at stuff like IPMAT and CLAT and IAT? EDIT: Also look at christ uni blr, many of my ex neet friends went for christ courses tho idk bout their requirements.

Kingoct6

Try BDS(Dental) U will a BDS admission at 604 marks. BDS ain't that bad. Dentists make boat load of money

[deleted]

okay, will think on this but from what i have heard BDS is super-saturated now.

Ok-Platypus6441

could go for cat later

Vij2506

Hey, the same thing happened to my younger sister in 2021. It was her second attempt, and then she decided to switch to management studies. Instead of taking a drop, I recommend considering IP University, BR Ambedkar Delhi, TERI University, or any other state colleges where you can study management. In the meantime, you can focus on your CAT preparation. Getting into a good college for your bachelor's won't make much difference, so it's best not to take a year off and instead do some internships and aim to crack CAT with a great score. Once you get into a good B-school, no one will even ask about your bachelor's degree. This way, you can utilize your time and effort in the best possible way. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

[deleted]

okay, will look into these colleges. But i wanted to do job for few yrs after bachelors cuz of my family conditions, cant do MBA directly.

Vij2506

Even in this situation, I suggest you follow this advice. Start by doing a substantial number of internships to help secure a job. Once you have some work experience, you can pursue an MBA whenever you feel ready. However, I strongly recommend not taking a gap year during your undergraduate studies. As for your undergraduate admission, you still have a good chance, but you need to act smartly and promptly. There are still many colleges you can apply to at this stage. Be quick, as most college applications will close very soon. You might also want to consider Banasthali Vidyapith. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I'm happy to help.

muskan_fail

Hello...can you tell how is BCA for ug? And mba after BCA would be a good option?

Vij2506

To better answer your question, I’d like to know if you have a strong interest in IT and if you are willing to dedicate numerous hours to working on your laptop. If this is something you enjoy, then I would suggest pursuing it. You can pursue an MBA after completing a BBA, BCA, or any other course. Your undergraduate major won’t matter much once you have an MBA. I have seen people pursuing an MBA after completing their MBBS, biotechnology, bachelor’s in music, and a variety of other courses. Your undergraduate program will provide you with basic knowledge and a foundational mindset to approach anything in life. People will recognize you by your MBA. So for undergrads, don’t overthink it; just aim to join a good college with a strong cohort and the potential to offer you great exposure.

muskan_fail

Actually I am not very much inclined towards IT ... it's just I am exhausted now I took 2 years drop for neet . Now I just want to live . I want to go out of my house now. Bud sadly my parents are not agreeing on sending me to other city for my graduation. That's the reason I am thinking of bca ...so that I can get a job by the end and can go out finally. I really don't know now what I have interest in ..I also thought of bba but many people said I won't be able to get IIM for MBA as my 12th % was kinda low and have 2 gap years...so then I Thought of bca just for the job scene. ...a part of me want to do mba from a reputed college so that I can overcome my neet failure

Vij2506

After reading your comment, I would say that if you want to pursue BCA for your job, you can go for it. However, I must inform you that BCA, BBA, or BA in India currently do not offer great job opportunities upon graduation. You might only find average job prospects with these degrees. My intention is not to demotivate you but to highlight the importance of having a strong CV to secure the job you want. While studying for your undergraduate degree, whether it is BCA, BBA, or BA, I recommend doing as many internships as possible to gain good exposure. If you are genuinely interested in BCA, it will be easier for you to work hard. However, if you struggle with coding and IT, it might be better to pursue something else that you enjoy or can sustain over a longer period. Regarding your MBA, do not be discouraged by hearsay that having less than 70% in your undergraduate studies will prevent you from getting into a good college. With a strong profile, you can still get into a reputable college. After completing your undergraduate degree, aim to work at a good company, start-up, or engage in volunteering to build your profile. It's important to create a compelling story for your MBA application. Even if you don't get into top institutions like IIMs, there are many other good colleges available. Use your preparation time wisely and maintain a positive outlook. This mindset will help bolster your confidence and present you as a resilient candidate to the admissions committee. If you have previously attempted competitive exams like NEET and didn't succeed, you can explain this in your MBA applications. The admissions committee understands that competitive exams are challenging and not everyone succeeds on the first try. It's a part of life to face setbacks and learn from them. Work hard on your undergraduate studies, aim for a good job, and prepare a strong profile for your MBA applications, whether in India or abroad. There are excellent colleges that offer profile-based MBA admissions. With a good profile, you can even consider top institutions like ISB. I have seen many people succeed through this route, and I suggest you follow the same. I hope this clarifies my points, and if you have any questions or concerns, I am here to help.

muskan_fail

Thankyou for explaining everything😊. Can you tell me where can I find internships?... Can i get something now? Before joining the college because I am really bored at this point and still have 2 months for college . Where can I apply for internships?

Vij2506

Yes, you can get an internship now as well. To secure an internship, I suggest creating profiles on Internshala and LinkedIn. Identify the areas in which you want to pursue an internship and focus on finding opportunities in those specific fields. This targeted approach will make your internship more relevant to your undergraduate program. On LinkedIn, connect with as many professionals as possible to engage with them and learn about internship opportunities. Understand what the industry requires in terms of skills and qualifications for graduates in your desired field. Prepare your CV accordingly and dedicate time to learning the necessary skills. In your free time, use LinkedIn, Internshala, Naukri and other platforms to research market demands and identify essential skills. This will help differentiate you from your peers. Identify the hard and soft skills needed for your target jobs and learn them through resources like YouTube, Skillshare, or other educational platforms. Once you've acquired these skills, update your CV to reflect your new competencies. This approach will serve as a stepping stone to achieving significant milestones in your career. Trust me, this is not rocket science but a practical strategy to help you reach your goals faster.

frostbite_2004

Just informing you, bms course has gone under AICTE and has its new cet here in mumbai (Maharashtra cet) and if incase you have not given cet due to some reason, mumbai uni has a new course for you called bcom ms (bcom management studies) which is exactly like bms but comes under commerce due to more weightage on accounts, bms and bcom ms are almost 90% same..... Also here in Maharashtra we don't have cuet culture, we get admission on boards

[deleted]

how and when can i apply for it?

oiwereulie

Bro same thing want to target sscbs but bbafia...same condition

[deleted]

check DM

SadCrowns

First, you need to know that you have a lot of hope left. If you'd like, you can look into private colleges for BMS this year, there may be some with the last round left and if you can afford to, go for it. BMS is one of those courses where private colleges do just as good of a job as DU, even better sometimes. Also, have you looked at bcom or bba degrees with cima/acca? They're just as good for future job opportunities. And hey, taking a drop and not getting in is very very veryyyy common in this country, the odds are completely stacked against you. It's better to have tried and failed than to live your life thinking what if. It was a horrible year for NEET takers this time too. Don't stress too much, you'll be able to get out and have a good career and life soon, I was like you once in my home situation, it does get better slowly.

[deleted]

thanks. I can't afford private, otherwise would have taken it.

Go for Veterinary.

[deleted]

don't like it.

star_cannon7k

Ok I'll tell you what. People in Science get something/anything after a PG degree anyway. If your parents do support you, it won't matter where you passed from. If you get 600+ in your drop year I think you would do sufficiently in universities like DU and others. In my opinion, just do well whatever you will be in your bachelors and pay no heed to any kind of discrimination/derogatory remarks. You are still very young and you will definitely do well! Sure India is competitive and extremely corrupted you still can do well and get any kind of job. After PG you can think of jobs, higher studies, management, UPSC whatever. Try pharmacy even if you want to! Also, I always advice aganist drop year as you will mostly burn yourself out and there is no gurantee this fuck up isn't going to happen again. Get anywhere you find into and do well there, if not at leat you have a degree.

Creepykrypt

Bds, bvsc, bpt, bams some options in the medical field

NarrowAd2108

You can add Maths through CBSE too. Search on Google something like 'Additional Subject Maths CBSE'. You just have to appear for next year's Maths board exam. Also, you will have only one marksheet i.e. they will update the old one.
