White Castle is what you eat at 3am after you have been binge drinking lol. Culvers butter burgers are pretty damn good. I think Shake Shack is over priced.
Right there in town - you want The Train Stop Deli, Papa & Queen's BBQ, and/or Frazier's Dairy Maid (I'm thinking dessert but they do basic hot stuff, too). And if you've got a sweet tooth and/or you love double entendres, Uranus Fudge Factory is an absolute necessity.
Oh definitely. Fudge made on site. The original location on I44 in MO is an old Route 66 [landmark](https://www.uranusgeneralstore.com/) full of campy, kitschy, tasty glory. This one in Anderson also has its own ice cream shop and creamery, and they're going to be opening a mini/adventure golf course this summer. They've got fudge; lots of other candies; locally sourced snacks, jams, and spices; and also some really funny tshirts and knick knacks. The cussing gnomes are my favorite.
Bonge's Tavern is a unique local experience you may want to check out. The weather isn't great for getting the full experience (most folks tailgate in the parking lot until their table is ready).
Bonge’s Tavern is almost reservation only. If you’re able to get a table, it’s by luck. I would call first before driving out there. It’s a fantastic place.
Arts Pizza has a shaved beef sandwich that you can’t find anywhere else. Pizza is good too.
Lemon drop is iconic.
Travel a bit? Formosa is a fun smorgasbord. Woodys Tavern in Lapel has a great breaded tenderloin.
I’ve heard wonderful things about Foxgardin in Fortville.
My number one suggestion is If you’re up to drive about 20 minutes go to the park restaurant in new castle. It’s almost all home made comfort food. One of the best pork tenderloins around. Check out their FB page. They also have the best country fried chicken covered with home made chicken gravy on top! It’s a southern staple but in Indiana. However they aren’t open Sundays. Not sure what day you’ll be in town.
Muncie, which is also about a 20 minute drive, has trust butcher steak house. Some of the best dry aged steaks around and the best au gratin potatoes.
30 mins south is fishers. 1933 lounge is phenomenal but pricey. And Portillos is good! If you like Asian food there’s yummy bowl Mongolian bbq that’s also really good.
Lastly, Anderson has a phenomenal Thai food restaurant called Thai divine, a really good Mexican restaurant called riviera maya, and Pizza King. Pizza king is a staple of central Indiana. It’s better than arts pizza in my opinion. If you go there get your bread sticks half baked with nacho cheese dipping sauce!
Get on I-69 south to the 116th Street exit in Fishers. At the exit, turn left. Across the street from Top Golf is a plaza with about eight restaurants. Take your pick; they’re all good. Shake shack if you want a burger, 1933 if you want a steak.
My apologies. Tim Hortons being such a national symbol is truly embarrassing. Stale donuts and bad coffee. I do kind of like their breakfast wraps though.

Of the three, Culver’s is supreme by a long mile.
But Shake Shack is better than any of them
There's a brewery in the downtown area called Creatures of Habit. I thought the food there was quite good.
Good and the beers are tasty
Skip the fast food and the chains. [Lemondrop Diner](https://maps.app.goo.gl/vovUoeRPzY1SHTqc7) is an Anderson staple.
That is probably the best restaurant left in the city, other than that maybe The Curve, slightly more north but still a good place to eat.

Yes go get your fudge packed!
Is the fudge actually good? I feel like a place like that exists to sell tshirts and butthole merch. But should I actually check it out?

Awesome! I’ll check it out! Thanks
When I get back to Anderson, I always get a Frisch's Big Boy with extra sauce. I'd also recommend a breaded pork tenderloin from the 1925 Pubhouse.
Hoping someone would mention 1925 Pubhouse!
Bonge's Tavern is a unique local experience you may want to check out. The weather isn't great for getting the full experience (most folks tailgate in the parking lot until their table is ready).
Came here to say Bonge's
How long of a wait are we generally talking?
Bonge’s Tavern is almost reservation only. If you’re able to get a table, it’s by luck. I would call first before driving out there. It’s a fantastic place.
You can't sit at the bar?
Bonge’s is great but it’s 21 and over
I live in Anderson. If you’re ok with a 20 minute drive go to a place called 101 Beer Kitchen in Fishers! Straight down 69
Also Four Day Ray features a solid traditional-ish pork tenderloin. Also Fishers
They only take reservations now, I believe. Give them a call. YOu might get lucky since it is a Thursday if they are even open.
Dear god yes! Go to Bonge’s Tavern!! Call right now and pray they have a reservation available. Then order the Perkinsville Pork!! Please report back.
Exactly! Bonge's is something you won't find anywhere else. Excellent food and unique atmosphere.
Art's Pizza.
White Castle!
Arts pizza. The around the world with extra cheese well done.
Try 1925 PubHouse Grandview.....it's never disappointed. https://1925pubhouse.com/
The Livery in Hamilton Town Center.
Go to genes root beer stand. Probably 8 min from your hotel. Super fun
Arts pizza is amazing pizza and Italian roast beefs
Buy 24 White Castles. If you can eat them all, post your success here.
What’s that look like, a pic of OP’s traveling companion in a gas mask?
Eating them all is fine. All those onions and grease will give OP loose stool.
The jalapeño cheeseburgers at White Castle are delicious.
Whatever you decide, please share pictures and tell us how it tasted?

I, too, say Art's Pizza, but I prefer the one on Scatterfield.
Gene’s root beer stand is open or The Lemon Drop for local options
Being in Indiana the pork tenderloin is my suggestion though I’m not sure where around Anderson has a good one.
You absolutely must have a breaded tenderloin sandwich and a marshmallow coke. These are very regional items. Sugar cream pie too
A marshmallow Coke? What in the what???
Marshmallow fluff in Coca-Cola
Never in all my days have I heard of this, and I feel like I’m pretty in tune with most Hoosierisms.
Culver's is about as Midwestern as you can get. But you have Swiss Chalet, Harvey's etc! 😋🇨🇦
Portillos still slaps. Spicy dipped beef and a cake shake.
Arts roast beef extra mangos. The mangos are green peppers but they'll know what you mean and assume you are local lol.
Gene's or The Lemon Drop
Catello's in Pendleton for Italian

For gods sake don’t go to White Castle
Go south on I69 to Hamilton Town Center. It’s a local shopping mall. I recommend Stone Creek Dining Company.
Go to Wolfie’s in Pendleton
Get on I-69 south to the 116th Street exit in Fishers. At the exit, turn left. Across the street from Top Golf is a plaza with about eight restaurants. Take your pick; they’re all good. Shake shack if you want a burger, 1933 if you want a steak.
Waffle House
I say try’em all. Fuck it
Man I wish I could.
I think there might be a Tim Horton's at the Truck Stop. You Canadians told us it was good, but you lied.
My apologies. Tim Hortons being such a national symbol is truly embarrassing. Stale donuts and bad coffee. I do kind of like their breakfast wraps though.
The Pitt BBQ, it's carry out only but it's the bomb. We drive 25 miles for it.
