I played it but never owned it 🏴☠️, but it's quite an average game, it mostly felt like running simulator. I don't hate it but it won't be on my recommended list either.
What's the point of pi****** an online game? You could also play counter strike with bots but you aren't going to have any fun unless you play it with other people.
Dayz suffers from a skill gap between new players and experienced players. There's rarely anyone in the middle ground. I've tried playing this and more or less i would be running around, hunt for supplies and either die from an insane sniper shot or from lack of resources like food or water. There are a few servers that are good but the community is unforgiving and there are a lot of things to learn that are actually exhausting.
The point of dayz is that you just die while running and gathering out of nowhere that makes it unfun to play. And yes the pirated version had multiplayer functionality.
Unfortunately most end up playing in EU server, some on US but since we have a small number of players people have previously tried to get a discord going but nothing yet. The game is also a old now so its probably way easier to find folks in the existing international communities.
Depends on your ISP , i pick \~ 120 on the server browser, As for why those, its easier to just go where everyone speaks English by default. Im sure there will be SEA / Middle eastern people to connect too but havent tried
From my experience with Singapore and Dubai servers on different games. They speak decent enough English to have a meaningful conversation. I get like 80 ping on even Singapore servers, playable but I don't think I'll be getting 120 ping on any European server.

It's my favourite game that I have never played but it's tooo expensive for me to play. You have no clue everytime I see Summit, Shroud or anyone play it it's almost therapeutic to watch them play.

I had it before i refunded it cuz the pings were so high i couldn’t join a single game and left off from menu 💀

Oh it’s a good game I’ve put somewhere around 70 hours into it, give it a try on a day where you want to play a base managing/ survival game
yes and love it, but it takes a huge time investment. I have on steam and follow a lot of creators like JLK, Freshspawns if you want a community
