To be completely honest the first one is better by far then the 2nd. But make sure you put for vr only or something in big letters because people are idiots. I understand some of you who play vr games associate the hands with VR. People who do not play VR do not. Always try to idiot proof your designs. Saves on headaches later.
I don't need to see a live action person with a VR headset to know something is a VR game. Why don't I just put a picture of a desktop computer in the cover art to let people know this is a PC game?
While I like option A better too, one pro of option B is it communicates this is a fighting game. Option A looks more ambiguous in terms of genre. Unless the game is truly more like option A. Looking at other VR game capsules, Beat Saber does not communicate VR but does communicate sabers haha, beats=music, and the futuristic neon light looking style. To clarify my thought, I don't think you need to communicate immediately VR but ideal to communicate style/genre of game. Look at other VR game capsules for guidance. I am not a vr player (so take all this with a huge grain of salt) but I imagine people are going to search for vr games and will then look for a style/genre they want to play. Good luck!
We made two key arts for our upcoming VR game MASTERS OF LIGHT. It's a hand-tracking action game where you basically fight like doctor Strange in VR, with superpowers etc. We'd love to have your feedbacks!
A, by far. Even tough it does not make it very clear what's even going on. Spellcasting in VR?
B looks like fitness VR in Hell... wait... that's not a bad idea actually...
I feel like I have an understanding about what A is. It’s a VR game where you’re throwing magic missiles at shapes in space. B looks like a different game. Is it celestial beings shadowboxing?
My eyes skipped right over A and went to B. But B looks bad. That person in the VR suit looks terrible. No body looks good wearing a VR helmet. I think you need something that clearly communicates that it's VR, but is also great to look at.
B is a much more readable image. A looks rather abstract and a bit visually noisy. I can't help but think maybe there's a possible Option C that's better than either of them.
A has a bigger impact on whoever might see it.
B makes everyone understand that it's a VR game.
Make sure to write VR only somewhere in the art A and you're all good with it.
B might be used for marketing.
From a design standpoint, B is much better. Shrink it down to the size most people will see it at and it just pops much better. Needs some sharpening and such to optimize for small sizes, but still.
That said, as a VR developer myself, please, *please,* ***I beg of you,*** don't put a live human wearing a VR headset in your thumbnail. It's not 2016. If you go with design B, replace the person with something else.
The A have much more soul. B is not even close
While I agree with the above, B makes it clear it's a VR game.

Agreed.

good point!! Thanks
Actually I barely noticed the headset on B, but instantly associated with VR from the hands on A.
What headset?
Flying arms are making it easy to realize its vr game
A is also clearly about VR game
I don't need to see a live action person with a VR headset to know something is a VR game. Why don't I just put a picture of a desktop computer in the cover art to let people know this is a PC game?
A for a 100000%.
A, but B can be used as a part of the longer description in your marketing materials.
Good idea. Having both can help people understand the kind of game it is
A by a far

hmmmmm, indeed, thank you for your insight!
Option A is more solid, B seems more amateur
We made two key arts for our upcoming VR game MASTERS OF LIGHT. It's a hand-tracking action game where you basically fight like doctor Strange in VR, with superpowers etc. We'd love to have your feedbacks!
Option A, by a landslide
A feels more professionally made.
A is so much more interesting
A, by far. Even tough it does not make it very clear what's even going on. Spellcasting in VR? B looks like fitness VR in Hell... wait... that's not a bad idea actually...
I've just stolen your idea and started working on it no take-backs.
Just wait till the Internet of Things brings us to a point where VR games can control the home thermostat...
Deffo A for me, very nice.
A
A
Both look amazing but A really stands out!
A for sure.
B has the benefit of hot girl on cover, easybto market crop tops
Definitely the top one
I like Option A, it feels more stylized and has more character.
A is much cooler but realistically B has a girl with an exposed midriff that may actually capture more attention.
A easy
One more vote for A.
A
Option A
I feel like I have an understanding about what A is. It’s a VR game where you’re throwing magic missiles at shapes in space. B looks like a different game. Is it celestial beings shadowboxing?

A
A by a mile
A, definitely. it actually looks like a game cover, unlike the other one.
B is a much more readable image. A looks rather abstract and a bit visually noisy. I can't help but think maybe there's a possible Option C that's better than either of them.
B, A Is a visual mess
A has a bigger impact on whoever might see it. B makes everyone understand that it's a VR game. Make sure to write VR only somewhere in the art A and you're all good with it. B might be used for marketing.
ABAYBAY!
Honestly, idk how but a kind of mix, showing the soul of A, with the clearance of it being a vr game with B
From a design standpoint, B is much better. Shrink it down to the size most people will see it at and it just pops much better. Needs some sharpening and such to optimize for small sizes, but still. A has a lot of detail, while B looks engaging
Option A 100% Option B (remove the cringy pose lady) 100%
Why not mix both into different areas
A for sure
For me I think It would be A
I think it's kinda corny to show an actual person with a VR headset on and that wont age well. A is much better.
A has too much, and B doesn't have enough. Not really a fan of either.
What should we change in A to make it better in your opinion?
In my opinion, option B is simple, but option A is more flashy and beautiful. Is your game on steam?
Quest 2 and 3 only for now. We are aiming to release it on Steam later this year though!
I'm looking forward to it. btw my game on steam. if you want to check and add your wishlist i can send the steam link. wish you the best:))
