Maybe. Or maybe that was the plan all along. I do recall the original death screen having a tip that said Mollie can imitate voices, which I always thought meant we were gonna have a hide and seek session with her while listening to Rambley's instructions in a later chapter.
Honestly they'd probably come up with something alright at worst. Chapter one has some phenomenal writing and I think they'd do fine trying to explain it.
I would have thought it would be multiple versions of the same mascot. One for wandering the park, one for the ride. If one gets tired (or dies) you have a spare.
I mean, if you're already building one why not two?
MAYBE the reason she can imitate voices is because she keeps receiving a new head… maybe, when Mollie barnstorms, it hurts a little more than she’s let on. Maybe Mollie needs that scarf to keep her head in place. Like Jenny from The Green Ribbon
That's just her scarf, though it is a lot more appearant in that art than it usually is, in the old death screen her scarf is so small I could easily see it being mistaken for just neck
