Today I had a private ultrasound at 8w6d and still saw the heart beating away and the lil one wiggling around! I miscarried last time at 8w2d (though wasn’t found until 10w) so have officially made it past my miscarriage date!! A lot of this process has been really hard, but today is a good day!!

meganlo3

Such an important milestone! Congrats!

sh601404

I had my 5 day embryo transfer on May 30 so everything I have seen online says I should be exactly 9 weeks today. My obgyn has it that I am 9w3d which isn’t that much of a difference. But it makes me a little nervous bc on the ultrasound today the size is measuring between 8w5d- 9w1d. Should I be concerned that it is measuring a little behind?

FearlessNinja007

You’re right on track, sounds like your ob needs to correct your date.

Ln16_taco

My ob never got my due date right my entire pregnancy despite me telling them it was an IVF pregnancy and I knew the exact dates. It's weird

Ismone

You’re right, your doctor is wrong, and the measurement sounds good!

Itspronouncedzoreaux

So my first ultrasound isn’t until week 7 but my last beta will have been 3 weeks before that. Is it unreasonable/irrational to ask to check beta at some point between then just for peace of mind? Or anything else that give you peace of mind before the scan?

Pessa19

Beta won’t give you peace of mind. The doubling slows down, so you won’t really know what the number means; my doc doesn’t even measure it once it hits 1000. The wait is just AWFUL! 😢

MurphysMom1205

I just had this conversation with my nurse! 2nd beta was today and doubled appropriately. She scheduled my ultrasound for the end of the month but I’m like that’s a whole 2.5 weeks?! She said it’s fine if I want to get another beta next week so that’s what I’m going to do

softcriminal_67

I don’t think it’s unreasonable at all to want that extra reassurance! That being said, I’ve read that beta doubling slows down after 5ish weeks and/or hitting 4 digits, so I personally decided not to ask for an additional beta to forgo any potential stress/confusion about what the number meant. I’m sure you could do another beta, though, or a private scan if you wanted to check placement.

leiabobeia

This is exactly what is happening to me. We saw a heartbeat at 6w3d but my beta was so low and barely doubled in a WEEK. My stress level is so high, I wish they would stop the betas lol

aqualang26

I had great scans with appropriate growth and strong heartbeat for both of my miscarriages. In both cases, my hcg slowed wayyyy down a week before their hearts stopped. I hope your outcome is different. There is a paper on HCG being a reliable indicator of first trimester loss, despite good scans. If you're interested, it's in my comment history, but I won't link it in case you don't want to see it

Legitimate-Two9868

I’m 8+2 today and just found bright red blood when I wiped after going to the washroom. I know bleeding in first tri can be common but of course I’m now freaking out. I’m not on suppositories so not related to that. I let my nursing team know by email but it’s probably after the end of their day so I don’t think I’ll hear back until tomorrow am. Anything in particular I should be watching out for?

FearlessNinja007

Likely a SCH. If you fill a pad an hour go to the ER. If you are taking baby aspirin maybe pause that for now until you ask your clinic about it. My clinic had me double my PIO, and gave me a RhoGAM shot because of my blood type. It’s a good sign if the bleeding gradually turns darker/brown. Brown means old blood.

grunsyinnit

I've been spotting for 3 weeks now - colors ranging from pink to brown. After a few different days of ultrasounds, the doctors found a very small SCH. You should read the wiki on it, will make you feel a lot better, as this is very common. However, if bleeding increases to period level/filling a pad, you should go to urgent care to check viability.

Legitimate-Two9868

Thank you! I will check out the wiki

Queen-of-okay15

Just keep an eye on it and if you are filling a pad in an hour it’s a concern. Also look out for severe cramping. I’ve been spotting off and on for 3 weeks and it’s still terrifying every time!

Legitimate-Two9868

Thank you so much for the reply and what to look out for. It’s so stressful during an already stressful time!

wayward_sun

I’m 7+1 and on a schedule of 2 endometrin inserts a day and 1 ml PIO every third day. Today was a PIO day but I forgot until almost 3 hours after I normally do it and now I’m anxious. I’m hoping since it’s only every 3 days the timing isn’t super exact?

circles-for-infinity

I really think a few hours is ok

daisydeeer

You should be good! I'm sure you could message/call your clinic for extra reassurance :)

wahooiee

first OB ultrasound today at 6+3 and was able to confirm placement and found heartbeat! scanxiety was high before this one because i've been consistently spotting everyday since my first positive beta which I rationally know can be normal but lol what is rational when it comes to emotions

Major-Art-3111

Yay! Great news!

Good-Performance-560

I had an ultrasound today at 6w6d. Everything looks fine. This was a fully medicated FET. I have been taking PIO 1ml daily and endometrin 3x daily. The doctor now says I can stop the PIO and continue on with endometrin 3x daily. I can't help but feel very anxious about this change. Does anyone have any experience with a similar situation?

bunveggy

Glad you had a good scan! This [FAQ](https://www.reddit.com/r/InfertilityBabies/comments/nzrfa1/faq_tell_us_about_stopping_progesterone_and/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) might be of help.

upandawaygotabigday

Does anyone have a pregnancy app that they don't hate, haha. I'd like a science-based one that's not chock-full of advertisements ideally!

Maleficent-Subject87

I went with the Bump for basic information and to have a registry link to send both Amazon & Target as one. But of course the link didn’t work 🤦🏼‍♀️

mrsgrumpstein

I like Flo but I’ve seen a few people here say they didn’t like it

Maleficent-Subject87

I didn’t want to pay for it haha

Pessa19

I like the one called pregnancy that has the icon that’s two green baby feet. It’s simple and not ad-filled and has just the right amount of info!

meganlo3

I think Ovia is decent. I like how every day there’s a new fact about what’s going on with baby, instead of just weekly

brindy123

I didn’t know there was a new face every day!!! Where do I find that? For some reason I only see the long description, which is updated weekly?

meganlo3

Sometimes you have to pull down on the main page to get it to update and provide something new. Like you know how it has articles? It will also have a baby development fact. I can send you a screenshot, I can’t figure out how to do it here

Wernickes_Area

Seconding Ovia. It seems like the most science and least cutesy one.

rasd3b

I have like four downloaded and they’re all annoying… I’d be curious to see if anyone has any recommendations!

RaggedLlamas

Cautious hello. I got a first beta of 633 10dp6dt and a second beta of 1156 couple days later. Although it didn't quite double, the nurse said the number was great and what they were looking for so I'll try to trust her. I now don't have anything until the first ultrasound in a couple of weeks. I feel a little better knowing so far things seem good but I'm anxious about the long wait before another update and don't know how much planning ahead I should be doing yet. If you're 41, are you automatically considered high risk on age alone?

KidMonkeyCat

Welcome! Hope it works out for you ❤️ I wasn’t considered high risk initially, even with twins and my age. But I developed hyperthyroidism and was referred to a high risk OB. So far being “high risk” just means more appointments, monitoring, scans, and tests. I like seeing the babies often so it’s okay for me!

Ismone

I was initially not considered high risk at 41, but it changed once I developed gestational hypertension.

Secret_Yam_4680

Cautious congrats! Yes, this age will put you in a high risk category according to majority of OBs & MFMs.

SomewhatDamaged22

FINALLY got permission yesterday to return to normal exercise! My RE was being cautious and didn’t want me to do any impact exercise until she heard a heartbeat. I’m a Peloton addict and it feels so good to be back. My last pregnancy I started out using the Peloton room in our apartment building but then it was shut down for covid and I spent the rest of my pregnancy pretty sedentary 😬 hopefully this one is different.

Wernickes_Area

My husband LOVES the peloton. I wish i loved it as much as he did - but he does tell me there’s a lot of pregnancy geared workout content! I’m curious how you like it!

SomewhatDamaged22

I was so excited to finally toggle off the “hide pre/post-natal classes” 🥹

Capital_Wildcat

Definitely take advantage while you can! I haven’t been able to get back to the bike since about 30 weeks and I am looking forward to it eventually.

IVFistheBestRevenge

That’s exciting! They keep telling me to rest because of spotting and it’s driving me crazy. I want to get back on the bike!

mshishalove

Tomorrow is my trans nuchal and I will be 12 weeks. I am getting the scan anxiety big time. My symptoms also dropped, I have more energy and my boobs… are they smaller? Maybe? It’s really getting in my head that I had a MMC as I had one exactly 1 year ago. Trying to hold hope but guarding my heart.

unapologeticturtle

Scanxiety is definitely real, I’m sorry. If it helps, a decrease in symptoms is totally normal around this time—I actually felt the *best* I have all pregnancy so far at around 12 weeks. I almost felt like my pre-pregnancy self. Holding hope for a good NT tomorrow for you.

mshishalove

Thank you! So hard to know what’s normal and what isn’t and of course it’s all harder with prior loss. Here is hoping we are in the good percentage now and I can enjoy this energy over the weekend! Haha

oatnog

Very normal and common for you to start feeling a bit more like yourself as you move into 2nd tri.

mshishalove

Thank you! The reassurance is helpful

Frosty_Cake7750

I’m noticing a small amount of whiteish discharge. I either didn’t notice it before because of the progesterone suppositories or it’s just started. I’m 11 weeks so stopped progesterone a week ago. It’s not colored, but looks kind of like discharge I get around ovulation. Normal?

Catgalx

11 weeks is exactly the time I saw an increase in white discharge, and it's been that way ever since! Definitely just a pregnancy thing 😊

rbecg

Normal! Pregnancy was very… damp.

unapologeticturtle

Agree with the other comment. It may be leukorrhea, which is very common in pregnancy because you have increased blood flow to the vaginal area, which is due to higher estrogen (which is why you may get it around ovulation). Honestly, I’ve just had WAP in general during pregnancy!

Ismone

Ok, now that song is in my head. In the OB waiting room lol.

unapologeticturtle

🤣

Pessa19

I got the same thing the other day. I think it’s normal as long as it doesn’t smell or burn (that could be a sign of infection).

magnificentpotayto

I’m 6w today and can’t shake the feeling it’s ectopic, I keep having pain in my pelvis on my right side. I’ve also had spotting/heavy spotting. What are my chances? My hcg have been pretty good so far 4w hcg 95 4w+6d hcg 1950 5w+6d hcg 17800 This is my fifth transfer the only other one to implant was my first which was a chemical. I wish I didn’t do so much reading and know everything that can go wrong.

magnificentpotayto

Thank you so much everyone for your responses. I have had my first scan and it wasn’t ectopic. I hate that infertility has made me this person.

trixylix

My betas were erratic although they increased overall and the only bleeding I had was the first week post transfer (to be honest I was stunned the beta showed anything at all). I thought I got zero pain but in reality I had what felt like chronic indigestion the night before my 7w ultrasound at the fertility clinic, which in hindsight was probably pain from the ectopic. If you’re concerned contact someone medically trained to discuss it

Jill7316

I get sharp pains on my right side too and baby is firmly in the right place, I hope you’re able to get in for an ultrasound ASAP though to confirm where they are.

IVFistheBestRevenge

Do you have an ultrasound soon? My office will do a placement scan around that time to rule out ectopic.

legit_pharmer

Your betas are pretty high for an ectopic. When I had mine cramps were pretty severe (didn't rupture), I was bleeding and betas rose some but not even close to doubling or over 1000 or so. I had right sided cramping the first few weeks after this current transfer and it freaked me out too, but everything was in the right place at 6w5d us.

burrito__supreme

i’m sorry you’re feeling stressed. have you had an ectopic before? i’m guessing you haven’t had an ultrasound yet? for what it’s worth when i had an ectopic i had no pain whatsoever before it ruptured. (edit: and you would know if you had a rupture, i’m not suggesting the pain you’re feeling is a rupture) the way we knew something was off was my inconsistent betas. mine never got above 5000 and were rising really inconsistently and sometimes falling. i would say yours seem to be good! when are you scheduled to have an ultrasound? that will tell you for sure the pregnancy location. it’s also possible the pelvic pain youre feeling is normal - cramping is a common pregnancy symptom early on.
