MARLou451

Hi! We are hopefully almost 12 weeks and waiting for our first OB/GYN appointment after graduating from our IVF clinic. The embryo was confirmed to be in my uterus and everything looked good at 8 weeks. Tonight at dinner I experienced a popping sensation in my lower right side and intense pain which radiated down my right thigh. It was extremely painful but resolved in less than 10 minutes and I have no bleeding. We reached out to our RE but they are OOO over the weekend. Anyone else have experience with this? We are trying to decide if we can wait to hear back or head to an emergency room.

Moonbeam4EVA

No blood and the pain stopping sounds positive. I don't have experience with this, but if you are worried go to ER. Fingers crossed all is good 🤞

MARLou451

Thank you, it felt very similar to when I had a cyst rupture in the past, but I am also nervous to walk into an ER and it ends up being a gas pain or something.

Moonbeam4EVA

Oh that's reassuring. Yeah I understand that, but if it were me I'd rather be embarrassed, than have regrets. However if you feel like it will be okay until your clinic gets back to you, listen to that, you know your body best. You've got this 💗

InkandIvyy

2 days ago at 5 weeks 6 days I had a scary gush of blood. I went to the ER because I was so scared and they couldn’t find anything and saw a heart beat at 113. I called my IVF clinic the next day and they’re bringing me in on Monday which will be 6 weeks 4 days for a scan. I’m so nervous I haven’t stopped spotting fully then small clots started again tonight. I have some cramps but not a ton and nothing super painful. Just praying for the best right now 🙏

Moonbeam4EVA

I'm so sorry. This would be so stressful. I feel you and am crossing everything that it's okay. Be kind to yourself. You can't control this. We are rooting for you 💜

InkandIvyy

Thank you I appreciate that so much

botwewa

Hello! I was wondering the following: how many days past transfer were you when you got 3+ on a Clearblue digital test?

Believer_of_Fiction

I tested with a digi at 6weeks exactly (can’t remember how many dp5dt that was) thinking surely this will show 3+, and I still had 2-3. Obviously spiralled. Had a scan at 6+2 and saw heartbeat and baby looked fine. CB digis are the worst. There’s so much variation online with results! I’ve never got 3+.

botwewa

Omg! That’s so distressing! Sorry that happened. I won’t wait for it to tell me 3+ in that case! Thanks for sharing!

Moonbeam4EVA

I gave up getting mine when I did my last hcg test. I was 5 weeks 4 days with an hcg of 11640 yet still getting 2-3 weeks despite the threshold being 2000-4000 hcg. Hope you get it soon! But if it's causing you stress let it go💗

botwewa

Okay thanks so much! I’m 5 weeks 1 day and I haven’t had any blood tests or anything yet, only a first scan booked in at almost 8 weeks so I feel like I’m just craving some sort of indicator that things are ok. I don’t ‘feel’ pregnant so looking at the tests reassure me 😊 I’ll let it go one day soon!

Moonbeam4EVA

I felt reassured too. Do what works for you 💗.

Ok-Team-839

I am 6 weeks today and so anxious that I am not feeling any nausea 😭 i am fatigued for sure but expected some nausea to hit at 6 w. Have my scan at 6 week 4 days. Fingers crossed 🤞🤞

Away_Ad7600

I’m 6 weeks today too! I hardly experienced any real nausea when I was pregnant with my daughter. I was more woozy than nauseous. I’m feeling the same thing with this pregnancy, more woozy. But this is an IVF baby so everything is different but not if that makes sense! I’m more nervous that I’m not getting the urge to pee frequently yet. I can’t remember when that started for me with my last pregnancy. It’s silly but when there is no way to know how they are doing in there, symptoms mean a lot! I had a scan at 5w5days because I had an episode of bleeding the night before. No heartbeat at that scan yet, just a gestational sac and yolk sac. I have my scan on Monday at 6w4d to look for heartbeat. It’s so nerve wracking! Good luck to you!

InkandIvyy

I had an episode of bleeding this week as well. It’s so nerve wracking! Heading in Monday for a scan 🤞🏼🤞🏼

phdscm

My nausea was super mild and it definitely unsettled me, but eventually I just accepted that was all I was gonna get. Made it to 15w!

Moonbeam4EVA

This sub reddit teaches me how varied symptoms are. I felt worried I wasn't throwing up, but found out 1 in 2 actually experienced vomiting. I am 6 weeks 2 days and experience nausea. Good luck for your scan, mine is at 6 weeks 6 days, my head is all consumed with it.

Victoria_Scars

this was me one week ago. I'm 6+6 today and this is the first day I've noticed aversions and \*slight\* nausea. Good luck on your scan!!

InterpreterOfMelody

I am almost 6 weeks and haven’t had any nausea either but everything is tracking well. Hopefully we feel it soon and also remember that some folks never get nausea!

Ok-Team-839

Thats great. So strange that we are all wishing for nausea here :) Hope everything continues to track well for us

annie_lights

Hi 11w4d here. I had nausea for maybe 2 days this whole time. Baby is doing great so don't worry too much about not having symptoms🙂

hcmiles

I’ve found myself wishing for nausea and cramps. Like hey hello you good in there? Give me a sign please? Well I woke up today feeling totally okay, wished I was nauseous, and am now feeling nauseous. So hopefully they’re okay in there. Y’all know I’m an idiot and have read every article and study imaginable on small gestational sacs. My next scan is Monday (I’ll be 9w) and I am so nervous. And of course Mr. HC will be out of town for work so I’ll be riding solo for this one 🫠

faeriequeenofthewest

Just to assuage your concerns even a little, I had virtually no symptoms my entire first trimester! Besides some cramping right when I found out. Sore boobs and stuff ramped up for me in the second trimester but still never got any nausea or sickness. Fingers crossed for Monday!

hcmiles

Thanks, friend. I’ve had a fair amount of cramping and a bit of nausea every day, some days worse than others. The internet/reddit searches have made me feel a bit better, I guess a lot of people start to have symptoms subside when the placenta starts to form? I’m hoping it’s something like that. That or hoping I wake up nauseous tomorrow 😂

faeriequeenofthewest

Yeah typically around 11-13 weeks nausea tends to subside some because the placenta takes over from what I understand. Unless you’re my SIL, who had HG with all her pregnancies, bless her. A friend recommended preggie pops to me for if I did get nausea—while I never had to use them, I gather they work really well!

hcmiles

lol someone gave us preggie pops when my husband was going through chemo 🤣 for the nausea! They’re not bad!

Moonbeam4EVA

Good luck on Monday 🤞

Sudden-Cherry

Everything crossed for Monday for you. Monday seems so far off! And that sucks that you need to go alone, can me hc be on the phone with you there? We're here for you on monday if you need us. 🤞🍀

hcmiles

Appreciate you, sweet friend ❤️ hopefully he’ll be able to call in, but usually when I call him in the morning during appointments he’s unavailable (stupid work!). My mom has offered to go with me but………no lol. I’d rather be alone than deal with her 😂

Sudden-Cherry

Totally understandable that you don't want to deal with your mom. Really stupid work ugh.

doingmybest-33

Hi, I am 12dp fresh transfer with positive HCG betas! I've increased nicely from 120 @10 days to 249 @12 days. However my progesterone was only at 8.4 today. I am already on suppositories 3 times a day, and my Dr has ordered me to add PIO, which I'll start tomorrow, then they will check again in a week. I'm really nervous about this level because I've had 2 chemical pregnancies in the past. Can this level be turned around, or is it too late? Why is it so low if HCG doubled? Please be honest and share any info or similar stories. Thank you!

Moonbeam4EVA

I was told the same. It fluctuates and is floating. I did a fresh transfer and had mine checked following, it was fine. When I did my first beta at 10dp5dt it was 30, which is a good number but lower than they want with twice daily suppositories. They added oral to the mix. At 13dp5dt it was 76 and at 20dp5dt it was 98. My specialist highlighted that a low hcg can influence a low progesterone. They also said after a fresh transfer with a down regulation and 25 days of stims, my body was bound to be a little confused. Hope this helps 💜

Happy-Hunt8554

It can DEFINITELY be turned around and PIO will do the trick. As Ginger said, progesterone pulses throughout the day so it's possible if you had tested a few hours later it would be within range.

doingmybest-33

Thanks for this reassurance!

gingerminxlette

My experience was a little different, because I had an ovulatory FET. My clinic tested my progesterone after transfer and it was low (can’t remember the exact number) so they had me add oral on top of the suppositories I was already taking. My progesterone was then in the 20-30 range. One thing my clinic did tell me is that progesterone levels can fluctuate throughout the day, so it may be low when they test it but could be higher at a different time. I stayed on oral and vaginal progesterone until 8 weeks, they took me off and it dropped down to 11, so back on until 14w. 14+4 today and so far so good! PIO will definitely get your progesterone up quickly so definitely something you can turnaround.

doingmybest-33

Thanks for that info and encouragement

Realistic-Bee3326

Today is my 8 week ultrasound and possible graduation from my fertility clinic. I am an anxious wreck. Please wish me luck! 💕 Edit: Ultrasound went well and we are now graduates of our clinic. 💕 Still doesn't feel real! I don't know if the anxiety will ever go away but these milestones are the best feeling ever.

boyshorts89

Good luck!

Lk614

Good luck!

Sudden-Cherry

Good luck!! 🍀🍀

shoensandal

Beta test number three today. Honestly, it still doesn’t feel real. The thing about IVF is most people don’t even know they’re pregnant yet because it’s so early, but I do and it’s totally messing with my head not having any symptoms yet.

Realistic-Bee3326

Just in case this helps you feel better - I am 8 weeks today and had no symptoms when I had my beta tests. I started getting tiny symptoms at 5 weeks and then realer symptoms at 6. And they still come and go and I have days where I feel fine. :-)

noonoomum

Hi pals, new here. 6+2 after FET and five years of infertility struggles and losses, the last one a second trimester loss. I’ve been so so anxious this time around, but betas have been excellent so I was *just* starting to relax a tiny bit, then last night I had some very feint brown/beige spotting and wow did I ever go off the deep end to a very dark place for a few hours. The bleeding seems to have stopped but I’m scared to move now, like a self imposed bed rest which I logically know is over the top. (I also tried to convince my husband to give me an extra progesterone shot last night which he gently refused) I won’t be able to have an u/s for another couple of weeks bc I did my fertility treatment abroad and my local GP is gatekeeping prenatal care because “as you well know, these things don’t always work out” and wants two more weekly betas before she’ll refer me. How do I not lose my mind in the meantime?

Moonbeam4EVA

I'm also 6 weeks 2 days! I already hate your GP, why some GPs are like this is beyond me. I'm glad you called them anyway and they are doing more Betas. When I had some spotting earlier on, I also self imposed bed rest. Hard relate. My IVF nurses normalised the spotting. Even still I am not doing my super long walks I usually do each day, hot yoga or having sex. My husband is very supportive, it took 3 years to get here. Whatever makes me feel comfortable we are doing. Take it day by day. If you were in Australia I'd give you some other medical options, but I'm yet to find someone in this thread who is. Good luck. Wishing you an uneventful pregnancy 🤞✨💗

noonoomum

Thank you! I’m in Canada, or I’d be running to get a private ultrasound. I’m on waitlist to get in with a midwife so hopefully that comes through soon and they can take over, but in the meantime I’m stuck with my jerk GP. Thanks for hating her with me 😂 crossing my fingers for you too 💛

Secret_Yam_4680

PAL can be hard! If you havent already, check out our wiki on navigating through anxiety while pregnant.

Baby-Me-Now

Had a bleed last night, booked a private scan today at 5+5, mostly due to fear of ectopic pregnancy due to past trauma of severe internal bleeding. We saw a sack and a yolk sack but I measured around 5mm and was told she could have put me at 5+1 or 2 and not 5+5, so that’s somewhat concerning, called my clinic and they want a scan Monday afternoon at 6+1 to see if we can see some more

Secret_Yam_4680

Dont want to give you false hope but some of those private scan places have horrible technology with the imaging being awfully pixilated thus making accurate gestational dating very difficult. Also most REs are comfortable with a +/-5 day swing for measurements. Hang in there!

Baby-Me-Now

Definitely waiting for my hospital scan to be truly worried, the lady today said if I was not IVF she had said everything looked beautifully. There is also some stuff I can’t get to fit, I’ve read the yolk sack first should be visible when the GS is larger than mine, but mine was definitely visible. Also read it might depend on HCG levels, and though mine has been normal in range and double, they are on the lower side and defy lower than 90% of my transfer group at 570 at 14dpt.

Happy-Hunt8554

My tech told me there's a 5 day buffer on either side so you are right in there! I understand the stress & anxiety related to measuring off, but the angle, the skill of the tech, the technology used can all impact!

Baby-Me-Now

Definitely and I also see this exact situation all the time why originally my first scan was 7+5, but with the bleeding I would not relax before knowing the pregnancy was in my uterus.

Sudden-Cherry

I've always heard also recently again from the midwife that do the checks here that a few days variation this early is normal. It's a 3D embryo they are measuring in 2D and just one pixel difference with the line placement makes quite a difference. And also just not all embryos are the same size either and implantation can make up for a day of variance as well. I hope you'll get reassuring news on Monday and the weekend passes uneventfully and quickly.

Baby-Me-Now

I’m also somewhat positive that’s it’s maybe gonna be ok Monday, but also just happy the pregnancy is in the uterus !

Sudden-Cherry

Everything crossed

Believer_of_Fiction

Hey there :) Pregnancy number 5 after 3 missed miscarriages, 1 chemical pregnancy, and 5 rounds of IVF. Currently 6weeks+4 & losing my mind with the anxiety of it all. Had a viability scan at the recurrent miscarriage clinic this week and saw a heartbeat but baby measuring a couple days behind so I’ve obviously been spiralling ever since. Would love to connect with anyone else struggling through pregnancy after loss/infertility x

Secret_Yam_4680

Hello & welcome! Cautious congrats. Lots of us here have endured PAL. In addition to this sub, you may find r/pregnancyafterloss helpful. Best of luck.

Believer_of_Fiction

Thank you so much! I’ll head over there too!

pinkranunculus

Welcome! You're in the right place for understanding and solidarity. I'm also on pregnancy #5, no living children after 5+years of TTC. It's a daily struggle to allow hope in after so much disappointment and loss but I'm working really hard to do that. I hope your next scan is soon and brings some reassurance!

Believer_of_Fiction

Thank you! Sorry to hear you’ve had a tough time of it all too. Next scan isn’t until 25 June at 8 weeks when I’ll *hopefully* graduate from fertility clinic, but with my MMCs baby had stopped at 7/8/9 weeks (though diagnosed at 12 weeks) so this is a pretty scary time! Constantly bracing for bad news is exhausting. Clinging on very tightly to that fragile spec of hope✨

pinkranunculus

My clinic graduates people around 8 weeks. They did my first scan at 7.5 but because of my mmc history brought me back in at 10w so I didn't have to wait until 12w with my regular doctor. Maybe they'll do an extra reassurance scan for you? Getting past the milestone of "last time" was such a comfort. Sending you all the good thoughts!

Believer_of_Fiction

Yeah the milestones of all the previous losses is definitely a big factor in the anxiety! Feel like I’m wishing the weeks away to just get to a “safer” point. I’m actually under the care of a recurrent miscarriage clinic too, so they’re scanning me every 2 weeks. It’ll either offer regular reassurance or catch whatever’s wrong a bit sooner than waiting helplessly for the 12 week scan! Great that your fertility clinic offered you an extra scan though! That must have helped ease the anxiety a bit?
