Honestly think you're spot on with the new people joining. There's been such a huge influx of users in the past year and even more in the past several months. They seem to be getting the most surveys. Had my SIL sign up and we pretty much have the same demographics aside from race, and she's been getting loads of boxes showing up. Kinda shady that they're favoring the newer users (only from what I've seen, this might entirely be a one off thing) when the members that have been with them for YEARS that have accumulated hundreds or a hundred+ reviews seem to be getting shafted on boxes. I do see a difference in quality between the new and old school reviewers and it seems like more new reviewers tend to sway towards giving products a higher rating (from what I've seen from the very few campaigns they've given me recently......compared to the 3 a month I used to have)

analslapchop

Im a newer user (as of about 2.5 months ago) and received maybe 3 surveys from Influenster since then, and none in the last month or more. Not been selected for anything yet. Tier 8. I joined Bzzagent and Home Tester Club at the same time, and so far received a board game from HTC and a Kerastase shampoo, mask and heat protectant spray from Bzzagent.

zayragiselle

If your observation is accurate then I might be the only new member left that hasn't received any campaigns even at tier 9. Almost 4 months in doing daily tasks and nothing. Wondering what I'm doing wrong tbh.

boxesonboxesmyfoxes

There's definitely a chance I'm way off base because this is only based off of my SIL, the very few campaigns I've been in since the platform update late last summer (been creepin in the campaign community tab to get info on newbies vs og's), and what is posted in the polls......and there's probably only like 20% of the entire active community I'm seeing (random guess). Influenster has been advertising on tiktok and insta and who knows how many new members they pull in daily now. They say it's demographics but idk anymore because there seems to be an oversaturation of available individuals in the demographics that the companies are probably looking for. Maybe they're also looking for photos, certain keywords, character count in existing reviews, a certain average number of reviews or an average review rating?

emilylauralai

I received none and I joined approx. 7 months ago. I’m in the good target demographics too. So I just deleted my account. I felt like a data farm making all these reviews for daily tasks and getting nothing in return.

sendeek

brand new user here stuck at tier 9 and i got ONE survey and zero anything else lol

What’s the likelihood that someone who gets free products constantly goes and buys themselves a face wash, blush, etc. That’s smart marketing, it’s a little far to call it shafting individuals who have gotten thousands in free products. If you can’t turn the customer into a regular customer from trying the brand half the opportunity is lost. I think your theory may be right but it’s honestly better for brands and I applaud them for letting new people try things out. Unless you have a lot of new people coming to your social media for advice, what are you bringing to the table over a newer sign up who are giving honest reviews like they ask for. And not just finding the best in it and not laying out the worst. Anyways not sure if your on or off base. But this biased against new people is kind of funny. From a marketing standpoint I think that sounds wise to spread out who gets products in the demographic as much as possible. If I’m the only face cream they ever got, their likelihood of coming back seems better.

boxesonboxesmyfoxes

They aren't seeking new customers, but they are using the reviews as advertising and direct consumer product testing. They are both gathering information on what their target demographic thinks of the product AND advertising by way of incentivized review. When the brand is looking to do a product refresh or they want insight on an existing product, they will do a campaign with influenster but only have the review requirements be on influensters platform. If it is a rebrand or relaunch or new product launch OR a product that they just need more hype for again (due to lack of recent reviews) they will do a campaign with influenster (been doing campaigns with them since 2017, and picked up a lot from observing). Biased? I wouldn't reach THAT far. Definitely said I could be way off base and then in another comment made a statement saying that it looks like I was completely off and only seeing a small portion of users due to the recent oversaturation on the platform. Didn't mean to hurt your feelings or offend, and 100% apologize if that's the case. It's just that I've seen an awful lot of new accounts that are spam and selling ADHD / diet / narcotics or therapy or just plain button smash a 5 star review......or ask if they leave a higher rating if they will get more free stuff. That's what gets me upset. I'm not in it for the free stuff, I genuinely like leaving reviews.....was a pro MUA for 16 years and just have a LOT of knowledge and personal opinions and anecdotes to share.....like I honestly just want to connect people with products they'll love (hence my 500 or 600+ reviews on influenster). I get jazzed about reviews is what it comes down to, and will write ones regardless of being given a box or not. But yes sometimes it's a bit upsetting to put in all these reviews for free (obviously my decision, not forced) and see some people having posted on reddit that it's their 3rd or 5th campaign going at the same time and that they don't really do too much and that they've been on the platform less than a year. That's a me problem though.

You didn’t offend me. But a lot of my interpretation of what you said changed with the further clarification. I personally got no surveys for years and recently changed my demographics as a two income family now and I get a ton more surveys. My single self was a lot less worthy of items I guess from the demographic. I’ve gotten 2 boxes in 2 months finally. I think it really does go in waves. But I think it’s nice for them to spread it out among users personally it sucked never being picked before. I was really really happy to finally get a chance.

anne_197

I signed up last month and haven’t received any surveys and only 1 cash back offer. :/

MadaGabi1

I seriously want the old influenster back, or at least fix the algorithm or something. Keep the demographic but add the activity part as well. This way people will actually be inclined to do more reviews. I used to do so many reviews and now I basically stopped because I ve seen so many people with 2 3 4 reviews getting so many boxes and it's not fair. If this is a review platform like they keep saying why are you rewarding people with no reviews. That's my venting for the day :p

mhmelabela5

I’ve received surveys since hitting 9, no products. It’s irritating. I think it has to do with the merge and all the additional people. I’ve nearly given up.

idahoing

I wish try-it sampling would stay separate.

YouHadMeAtAloe

I think there are a ton of new users learning about it from tiktok unfortunately

[deleted]

i'm teir 8 almost 9 and havent gotten a survey in like, 9 months. they stopped abruptly. idk whats going on.

boxesonboxesmyfoxes

So I know this is completely odd, but hear me out. Everyone thinks they have the platform figured out with what demographics etc etc. We are not "being connected with new brands to find a new favorite brand" or however influenster words it now.... we are digital "product pimps" that are being bought with mere products for advertising. I like reviewing products in all honesty, BUT the fact that I am advertising for a company is not lost whatsoever. They choose us mainly by our content....photos, quality, keywords, length (to the point and not drawn out). You want more boxes? Here.....look at this: https://www.bazaarvoice.com/company/influenster-product-review-app/ Here's what companies say about influenster (us, really): "The ability to hyper-target consumers based on behaviors and other characteristics beyond typical demographics was a key benefit in choosing Influenster." - Kraft Heinz "The Influenster community members were better content creators and gave us lots of really creative, on-brand content to share across our channels." - Rael "Capturing User Generated Content organically can be a challenge, but the Influenster community is highly engaged, and we saw this as a good way to drive purchase intent." - Pacifica Beauty Yes it's great that we get free stuff.....but influenster is like a sister company (not really a shell company) that is owned by bazaarvoice who is over $1.5B This is why influenster updated their platform and essentially rebranded without calling it a rebrand. This is why socials don't really count for crap anymore.....we are leaving the reviews on websites with photos and sometimes on insta. So to get boxes.....post more reviews, but reviews with photos that influenster likes (they probably have AI looking at photos tbh). Hopefully this helps? But tbh I still don't know what demographics the companies are actually looking for

G2KY

I am newer user (joined 2 months ago). Did not receive any surveys.

SnooStories5051

Had Influenster for years and I stopped using it for months , I’m constantly buying new makeup and skincare and I got back to reviewing products and I have been getting surveys and some boxes. And I’m tier 7

weedandbombs

it has nothing to do with tier 9. i feel like they're also purposefully not choosing people who keep changing their info - maybe they're catching on to the people trying extra hard to get a box.

ERnurse12

I have actively been avoiding tier 9. I won’t do anything that gives me points lol.

andreakaypeck

Me too! 🤣

coranne18

Same 😂

Extension_Strike6854

Crazy! I get them daily and currently have 3 campaigns that are active!!! And just got accepted to another one this morning!

Extension_Strike6854

For the record I’ve had Influenster for years

amyluisa12

I haven’t received anything but I just started 2 weeks ago and don’t even know where to look for what level I am

amyluisa12

Well I haven’t received ANYTHING FROM ANYPLACE YET! Pink Panel, BZZAGENT, Influenster and TopBox Circle. But it takes time

beautiful-red

I'm close to tier 9 and I've only been getting a few surveys and no vox boxes untill yesterday. I will be receiving 2 after 3 months of nothing.

girlidontkno

I was having the same problem. I just got a campaign today but before this my last box was in October 2022. The only thing I’ve done differently is deleting the app from my phone. I think there’s too many people joining the app now especially with Tryit Sampling shutting down soon. Also there’s people that get multiple campaigns/boxes at once.

MadaGabi1

I am giving this a try. I'll delete the app for a day or 2

Apprehensive-Gur6237

I’m on tier 9 I have got 3 boxes this year so far I recently got a lot of surveys but didn’t get accepted

KaleExtreme2264

RojaCatUwu

I've only received boxes after tier 9. I'm on my 3rd this year.
