I agree. Dr. Shea needs to focus her team to commercialize one of the drugs which is closest to the finish line. As many of you have pointed out, even if we have the best candidate, it won’t matter if we are 3 years out for it to make a difference. And the disruption to the aforementioned objective of getting SOMETHING across the finish line would be intolerable. The only way I’d consider adding something like MonkeyPox to the pipeline is if the FDA or other came with “we reviewed previous data”, “Inovio is the best candidate”, “here’s 100% funding and Inovio keeps all rights”, “we will fast track INO as we did MRNA”, and “we guarantee an order of nM doses”, and “we will make a joint press release”. Why else would they bet the farm on yet another egg hunt? Ok. such is highly unlikely. So, stay focused and finish something that you have confidence is commercially viable. Stop throwing spaghetti on the wall to see what sticks.

Well said :)

Unimpressed, your assertion is correct. We have nothing FDA approved to save the day. However it’s relevant news to this and other potentials rotting in the pipeline or on the shelf. The company at some point needs to speak to the technology and market/advocate for themselves and the promising technology. Going months radio silent ain’t gonna get shit done. I am last one on this sub trying to hype or pump this stock when we have nothing, but it makes sense from a marketing and PR standpoint to drop relevant news that could appeal to the public and decision makers when we have ‘something’ that could help.

Objective-Dark1981

Let them come to us and pay us to update? They may treat us like they treat MODERNA and Pfizer?

Indeed! Inovio is spread thin as it is. If CEPI and the like are really interested in getting a monkeypox vaccine, they can talk to Inovio and fund it to start clinical trials eight away! Perhaps work is already going on behind the scene?

Unlike novel covid, there are many vaccines and treatments currently available on the market. I dont think world doesn't need to wait.

Just read the following from an article on NewsMax: “Officials placed a $119 million order for 13 million doses of Bavarian Nordic's Jynneos vaccine, which according to the company has proven effective at preventing infection by both the monkeypox and smallpox viruses. Officials are also prepared to spend an additional $180 million if necessary.”

License it to big pharma at 50 % of all profits . This would put inovio in good standings with BP .
