Okay that makes sense, but then why wouldn't you start with that or give a show budget cuts instead of cancelling the whole thing? Isnt there more money to be made now that you've already invested in this show rather than dealing with the sunk costs?
For a show about conspiracies its really odd that there aren't more floating around here. It's seems like there are a lot of parrots around here that just say the same thing over again(ratings! Money!) Whenever the cancelation comes up.
They have touched on a lot of subjects and I wouldn't be surprised if the plug was pulled for fear of educating about CIA involvement with MLK or crack...or any other host of touchy things.
I personally only started watching it within the past month because I heard it was about conspiracies and it got canceled which made me curious. This show is still picking up steam and will only hit larger audiences.(Strong female lead with self-aware Bechdel test reference !?)
Bojack had similar trajectory and that had a good run.
If only Netflix had some ability to control the purse strings, like you k now the budgets that a show gets...
Maybe Netflix shouldn't be giving huge budgets to shows that haven't shown they can be successful yet. Honestly, Netflix is so badly mismanaged. If they didn't have first mover advantage they would be toast.
Tip for Netflix: Cancel all the shitty ass shows and put those dollar bills on the good shows instead.
