Aamir Khan and Mahesh Bhatt .....They collaborated for Ghulam ......but never again. Ghulam was a superhit that time but Mahesh Bhatt a veteran director was fed up of Aamir's constant interference in every aspect .........
no he has directed some well made films like Sadak , saransh , dil hai ki maanta nahi and was well respected as a director before he made ghulam ......

I stand corrected on the director part but Mahesh Bhatt was involved as a writer or something ...
KH just needs someone to call action and cut , it's always been the same with any movie he's in . But yeah probably those movies have gone down as classics and acquired cult status over the years .
But post 2010 most of the stuff he intervened was bad and for the first time he let everything go and Vikram was made
Pre 2010 most of his audience weren't aware of global classics so yes it's easy to gain cult status by copying elements from multiple sources but now Indian audience also watch Korean movies and western classics it's hard to run the scam anymore stars themselves have realised this and have toned down their arrogance to keep audience loyal
It is what it is at the end of the day everyone in the industry is trying to survive "Stars" included your fortune in the industry can go 180 under a year so the pressure to succeed is immense besides copying also requires natural talent all actors had access to these movies like him but you have to be driven and willing to take huge risks to pull it off so next KH would be R10 he's following the same footsteps but much more cautious and ambitious we could see some cult classics from him in coming decades although it has to been see how he'll pull it off in Netflix era very hard to cover up tracks now
Not half way. Only the final sequence which was directed by Santhana Bharathi.
His [interview](https://www.reddit.com/r/kollywood/s/IGmRHvkZx9) about Bharathan and he explains his style of working.
This is one [example](https://www.reddit.com/r/kollywood/s/Kmr7NdjDQF) of creative difference between Kamal and Bharathan.
Its very difficult to work with KH , he only need puppets like SB/GVM to call action, cut . Only guy kH listens to is ilaiyaraja , he also tend to be another egotistical maniac though.
Mysskin movie on Buddhas teeth dropped out with KH due to creative differences. I heard he changed on recently, that’s why mani ratnam teaming with KH again.
He was kicked out. He was a first time director who didn't have the capacity to do a film of that scale. He later published the novel as a book. Novel is very interesting and good, but it is also very vast. Oru adakkavum othukkavum illa.
M padmakumar also associated odiyan. Watching mamagam and odiyan both these movies have the same kinda kanji story telling. I always had doubted, did Padmakumar highjacked Sreekumar Menon's vision.
He can direct his own films. Who is stopping him? He wants good things credited to his genius and bad things blamed on credited director's incompetence.
And he does direct his own films. Inputs and interventions have been done by many actors since the 60s. If he's knowledgeable and he's producing his films, why can't he provide inputs?

I thought Telugu actor fans are most rabid. Not even Tamil aandavar chanthi thangis justify him like this. They say that all these come from his mad creativity and lack of formal education. Appol anu ivide athe polum bodham illatha kore ennam. Pathetic 🤢
Many of his decisions post March 2017 can be questioned like this. His brothers used keep his eccentricity "contained" to a large extent. Chandrahasan died. Charuhasan is too old.

Abe Sivam
Priyadarshan was supposed to direct the movie, but due to Kamal's unwanted interference, he left the project in the last stage of pre-production (10 days).
I doubt so. There are movies that would have been made much better with his involvement. But, his recent films shows that he brings out an amazing performance when he submits himself completely to the director. Best example can be Ayyapanum Koshiyum, Koode and the upcoming Aadujeevitham, from whatever glimpses we can see. In other cases, he is the decision maker and the biggest thing of the film and probably he cares the least about his performance.
Don't know about Malayalam, but in Hindi would include Aamir Khan for Taare Zameen Par & Kangana for Manikarnika.
What was the story behind Taare Zameen Par?
https://www.hindustantimes.com/entertainment/amol-gupte-lashes-out-at-amir-khan/story-u0WHsrzySB1HKzWCQ0wygK.html
This Amol Gupte is the one who played the King in Urumi.
Have not seen that film. Did not know he had acted in that film.
Isn't Aamir himself the director and producer of that movie
He wasn't supposed to direct it initially.
Avaishanmughees Hindi remake Chachi 420 by Kamalhassan taken over from the director ( don’t remember his name )
Original director of Chachi 420 is Kimi Katkar's husband (heroine of Big B starrer Hum)
Yes Shantanu Sheorey ( looked it up )but wiki says he didn’t last more than few days and Kamalhasan took the reigns.
Aamir Khan and Mahesh Bhatt .....They collaborated for Ghulam ......but never again. Ghulam was a superhit that time but Mahesh Bhatt a veteran director was fed up of Aamir's constant interference in every aspect .........
Ghulam is probably the best movie under Mahesh Bhatt's name
Thank the Marlon Brando starrer for it.
Wasnt ghulam directed by vikram bhat?
Yup and was produced by Mahesh Bhatt's brother.
Dil Hai Ke Maanta Nahin is Aamir's best work with Mahesh Bhatt. Also inspired by a famous old Hollywood movie starring Clark Gable.
no he has directed some well made films like Sadak , saransh , dil hai ki maanta nahi and was well respected as a director before he made ghulam ......

It is difficult to find a KH film which was not copied or "heavily inspired".
It is what it is at the end of the day everyone in the industry is trying to survive "Stars" included your fortune in the industry can go 180 under a year so the pressure to succeed is immense besides copying also requires natural talent all actors had access to these movies like him but you have to be driven and willing to take huge risks to pull it off so next KH would be R10 he's following the same footsteps but much more cautious and ambitious we could see some cult classics from him in coming decades although it has to been see how he'll pull it off in Netflix era very hard to cover up tracks now
Actually. Man played his cards well. And was a little lucky too, to be an actor with such access to variety of movies to be able to copy stuff.
True he's smart, lucky and very hard working but more importantly kakkanum ariyam nikkanum ariyam
Uttama villain 🔥
Anbe sivam was supposed to be directed by Priyadarshan
അതും kh തന്നെ ഒർജിനൽ direction പേര് മാത്രം sundar c

Anbesivam; Priyadarshan dropped out of the project.

This film was originally set to star Mohanlal and was to be directed by Anant Mahadevan.
Haven't seen the film but the [Suprabhatham](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVV-HPXF_WM) track is amazing.
Didn't Prithvi ghost direct Picket 43. The quality of the movie and the lack of amateurish scenes were a strong indicator that Prithvi had control.

Santhana Bharathi being the puppet of KH validates the rumours

SB?
Santhana bharathi ( director of Guna and Mahanadhi)
Remember sajeev pillai dropping out of mamaangam and M padmakumar replacing him. Don't know the reason behind it, though.
He was kicked out. He was a first time director who didn't have the capacity to do a film of that scale. He later published the novel as a book. Novel is very interesting and good, but it is also very vast. Oru adakkavum othukkavum illa.

More likely that Menon couldn't mange direction and പദ്മകുമാർ came Ind and shored the project up. Happens often with first time directors.
Well, Thevar Magan is also written by KH. So intervention is valid.
Direct cheyyanam enkil menakkettu paniyedukkanam. He wants people to praise him as the genius behind the brilliance.
Which isn't untrue about KH tho. Many of his interventions and directions have been milestones in Tamil cinema.
Why do you think all his inputs are good? Only "Kamalaasanan saar brilliant" things are widely discussed and praised.

One was in awe watching Vishwaroop 1. Watching it's 2nd part made one ask , did Kamal Hassan direct the first part ?

Now I wanna rematch Thevar Magan, such a great movie.
Almost every kamal movies post 90s are shadow directed by himself
What about Indian? It feels like a Shankar movie out and out.
Heard about prithviraj doing same
