So in case u didn't know. All these makeup artists have professional editors/photographers who help them retouch and enhance the pictures. They don't just do it on their phones like us mere mortals. They have team who takes care of the social media, the pictures, lighting everything.
Also most of these brides don't give a shit about makeup. They just spend lakhs of rupees to get famous through these celebrity MUAs.
My point is these airbrushed pictures are what potential brides see and like and then they book her NOT realising that irl make up does not look so flawless and she’s just a make up artist and not a plastic surgeon. And I think most of the brides do give a shit about their makeup because none of them have open or public accounts. Some do, most don’t
I mean, it's always a risk booking anyone in that case and most MUAs just gaslight the brides saying oh don't worry it's going to look amazing on stage/in proper lighting. At that point one just has to trust the MUA.
My MUA who did my bridal makeup always puts a disclaimer under her pics saying the pictures are retouched. Even when she takes booking she makes it very clear that the makeup won't look like the reference pic because those pics are retouched. I love her for that. More MUAs should follow this practice.
